Nestled in Shinjuku, Tokyo Meiji Park is a hidden green gem where spring cherry blossoms and autumn maples harmonize with European-style architecture. To enjoy a tranquil experience, it is recommended to visit before 9 AM to avoid crowds. In spring, enter through the South Gate and stroll along the 'Cherry Blossom Avenue,' where the Yoshino cherry trees form a pink tunnel. Take a moment to sit on the benches near the central fountain and capture the petals gently falling onto the water.
In summer, head to the 'Rose Garden,' where over 200 varieties of roses bloom in full glory. The contrast between the European arches and the Japanese rock garden creates a unique aesthetic. Wearing a light-colored long dress makes for stunning photos. In autumn, don't miss the 'Ginkgo Grove,' where golden leaves carpet the pathways, creating a soft rustling sound underfoot. The vibrant red torii gate of Meiji Shrine in the distance completes a classic Japanese scene.
In winter, after a snowfall, the Gothic-style St. Mary's Cathedral is draped in a white veil, contrasting beautifully with the evergreen pines and cypresses. The park also features a historical exhibition hall from the Meiji era, offering insights into Tokyo's modernization journey. Before leaving, make sure to take a photo in front of the 'Western Clock Tower,' where the steampunk-style architecture and natural scenery create a timeless visual feast.
