Huanxi Village, Tonglu, Zhejiang

Located at the easternmost tip of Tonglu County, Huanxi Village is surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on one side. The two clear streams, Tianziyuan and Qingyuan, converge at the entrance of the village, giving the village its name, which means "surrounded by streams." Huanxi is also a historic village famous for its Qinglian culture. Descendants of Zhou Dunyi, a renowned scholar, have lived here for over 620 years. The village boasts exquisite ancient buildings, primarily in the Huizhou architectural style, such as Ailiantang, Shangzhitang, Anlan Bridge, and Baoan Bridge. These structures not only showcase the superb craftsmanship of ancient architecture but also carry rich historical and cultural information. A pond filled with goldfish adds to the village's charm. Huanxi Village is listed as a "Traditional Chinese Village" and a "Historical and Cultural Village of Zhejiang."
