At the very tip of Shikoku, Cape Ashizuri offers dramatic ocean views, rich cultural history, and a peaceful pace that makes it perfect for a laid-back getaway. If you’re craving fresh sea air and wide open skies, this is the place to go.
My walk started at Ashizuri Cape Lighthouse, standing tall on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific. The view is breathtaking—you can hear the waves crashing below and feel the wind in your hair.
Nearby, I visited Kongofukuji Temple, one of the stops on the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Surrounded by ancient trees and soft light, it’s a peaceful and spiritual place to pause and reflect.
To wrap up the day, I headed to Tatsukushi Marine Park, where you can explore undersea life through glass-bottom boats or just wander along the rock-lined coast.
Why I recommend Cape Ashizuri:
・It’s a beautiful mix of dramatic coastline, peaceful temples, and untouched nature
・Perfect for slow travel with big views and meaningful moments
