When you come to Kagawa, besides going island hopping in the Seto Inland Sea, don’t forget to visit the charming attractions in Takamatsu City!
The Shikoku Aquarium is the largest in Shikoku and is a must-visit destination for families or couples.

The museum is 2 stories high. As it was built not long ago, the building and environment are newer than other classic Japanese aquariums, but it is also full of interesting features. The three major areas of "Seto Inland Sea Area", "Pacific Ocean Area" and "Clear Stream and Lakeside Area" allow you to enjoy completely different underwater landscapes.


There are many must-see attractions in the aquarium, including the largest water tank in Shikoku, the "Watatsumi View", the "Kannazuki View" where you can look up from a low place and watch sharks, and the aquarium's most famous view, the "Uzushio View", which was inspired by the whirlpools of the Naruto Strait and is believed to be the aquarium's signature view. Each display tank is so impressive that even I, who am not a fan of marine life, was fascinated by it.
