Velassaru combines barefoot luxury with excellent service. My beachfront bungalow had an open-air bathroom and a shaded terrace where I spent hours reading with my toes in the sand. The infinity pool overlooks a lagoon so blue it looked unreal. The seafood at the beachfront grill was outstanding, and sunset cocktails at Chill Bar were unforgettable. I also tried the resort’s diving program, which was very professional. It’s a stylish but relaxed resort that works well for couples and solo travelers alike.
