[Laos] The chaotic Buddha statue theme park "Buddha Park"

#SummerThemePark

Wat Xieng Khuan, a Buddhist facility located about 6km east of the Friendship Bridge on the border between Laos and Thailand and about 25km south of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, is a popular tourist spot.

Or rather, it's now known as "Buddha Park." It is affectionately known as "Buddha Park."

There are no pagodas or main halls here; instead, only over 200 Buddha statues are on outdoor display.

This Buddha statue theme park, with its slightly unconventional religious views, includes both Buddhist and Hindu deities.

It was founded by a Thai religious leader and artist.

He had his own unique religious views, and apparently created Buddha statues regardless of whether they were Buddhist or Hindu.

However, because the believers who assisted him were amateurs at making Buddha statues, each one ended up with an unbalanced, delicate quality. This, in turn, adds to the charm of the park, making it a popular, if somewhat obscure, B-list attraction.

The Buddha's head, resembling a giant, gaping pumpkin, depicts the Buddhist hellish realm, making it quite intriguing.

The rooftop observation deck offers a panoramic view of Buddha Park.
