Fangshan Scenic Area, Wenling City, Taizhou

Wenling City, under the administration of Taizhou, is the place where the first light shines in the Millennium Dawn Garden in Shitang Town.
Wenling has three characteristic scenic spots: 1. Changyu Dongtian 2. Shitang Peninsula Resort 3. Fangshan Scenic Area
Today I will talk about the Fangshan Scenic Area. 40 yuan/person, free for Taizhou locals. The Fangshan Scenic Area is a volcanic relic and the largest Mesozoic rhyolite volcanic platform in Asia. At the entrance of Fangshan Mountain, there is a cliff with two big characters "Zhenshan" engraved on it, so it is called Zhenshan Cliff. This is actually a sacred mountain with many temples inside, praying for peace and security.
This scenic area is a bit desolate when you first go up the mountain, but there are three places in this scenic area that I think are very classic. The first one is Elephant Rock, especially when you look down from right in front of a temple, it seems as if the elephant 🐘 is right behind you. The second place is the Peace Tower, which was built when Hong Kong returned to China. You can climb up and see far into the distance. The third place is Nantianmen, where you can see Yangjiaodong, one of the eight scenic spots of Yandang. During the off-season, the gates here are interconnected, so you can come and go freely. You can also see Jianyan in the distance. That location is very suitable for taking pictures. In the distance, it looks like an endless path leading to Jianyan, which is really beautiful.

The Wenbi Peak in this scenic area is very vivid. It is said to be left behind by the calligrapher Wang Xizhi after he wrote Travels to Western County. It looks like an upside-down brush.
