This winter, I came to Hainan to escape the cold. I encountered many different cultural differences, which piqued my curiosity. This is a record of my travel diary.
First stop: Haikou
The weather was great on the day I arrived, but it was very windy. I went for a walk by the sea and the sea breeze made me feel damp, so I went to the arcade old street in the city. It was very lively during the Chinese New Year, and the buildings here have a lot of local characteristics.
(Due to some reasons, I didn't have time to visit other places later.)
Second stop: Danzhou
I learned about this city online. It was once the place where Su Shi was exiled, and it was also the first place where Lady Xian regained Hainan Island. There are many historical and cultural stories here, and coming here is the best way to understand Hainan Island.
Third stop: Wuzhishan
I knew about this place because I saw online that Fangnuo Village has many beautiful spots and the Red Canyon Drifting. Unfortunately, I only went to Fangnuo Village and only saw the main peak.
Fourth stop: Sanya
A popular destination and the city that outsiders like to visit the most. It is undeniably beautiful and comfortable, especially in clear weather. The scenery is like a colorful seascape painting without any filters, and photos can't capture its stunning beauty. You have to see it with your own eyes.
