“Xi’an Nights: Lantern Streets, Muslim Quarter Feasts & Ancient Wall Evenings”

Here are some practical insights from my Xi’an trip — perfect for first-time visitors, especially Muslim travelers! 👇
✈️ Before You Fly
At Xi’an International Airport T5, Level 3 (Departure) — once you go inside, there’s no food available, so make sure to eat beforehand.
🍜 Local Food Culture
Xi’an has a strong Islamic influence, especially around the famous Hui Min Street (Muslim Quarter).
You’ll rarely find pork here — most dishes are made with beef and lamb, while chicken is less common.
👉 Avoid asking “Do you have pork?” — it’s considered disrespectful. Instead, ask: “What kind of meat is this?”
If you see the word 清真, it means Halal.
🍗 Food I Tried
• KFC: The chicken was tender, juicy, and surprisingly good!
• Haidilao Hotpot: Rich and flavorful broth, not too many ingredients though. No free dessert (only fruits), but prices are reasonable — and of course, no pork here.
🛫 Flight Back
I flew back to Malaysia with LoongAir — drinks were refillable, and hand luggage wasn’t weighed. Smooth and easy experience overall!
