⛩ A journey to touch the heart of Echigo: A time enveloped in tranquility and sanctity at Yahiko Shrine

⛩ A journey to touch the heart of Echigo: A time enveloped in silence and holiness at Yahiko Shrine

Yahiko Shrine, located in Yahiko Village, Niigata Prefecture, is a prestigious shrine that has long been worshipped as the Ichinomiya of Echigo.

The author visited in early summer, and felt as if his soul was purified by the rain-soaked approach to the shrine and the solemn worship hall. The grounds are spacious, and there are many sights to see, such as the Suijinmon Gate and the Jyukai Stone. If you climb to the top of the mountain on the Yahiko Mountain Ropeway, you will be greeted by a magnificent view that stretches all the way to Sado Island. This place, where nature and history coexist in harmony, is perfect for a quiet trip to calm your mind, whether you are traveling alone or as a couple. Another great point is that you can visit for free.

🚃Access:
・About 15 minutes walk from Yahiko Station on the JR Yahiko Line
・About 30 minutes from Tsubame-Sanjo Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen Line by changing to the Yahiko Line

🚗By car:
・About 30 minutes from Sanjo-Tsubame IC on the Hokuriku Expressway
・Free parking available around the shrine (345 regular cars, 20 large buses)
