Yan'an is a revolutionary holy land and the cradle of the founding of New China. More than 80 years ago, it was a place where passionate young people risked their lives to go, and today Yan'an remains a destination that captivates travelers' hearts.
Located on the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province, from October 1935 to March 1948, Yan'an was the command center of the CPC Central Committee, leading the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Liberation War, and the Great Production Movement. It laid the foundation for New China and cultivated the Yan'an Spirit, centered on "a firm and correct political direction, the ideological line of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts, the fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, and the entrepreneurial spirit of self-reliance and hard work." Yan'an is known as the "Lighthouse of the Chinese Revolution," attracting countless patriotic youth and international friends, becoming a symbol of national independence and self-improvement. It currently preserves 445 revolutionary sites and 43,000 revolutionary relics, and is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction and a demonstration zone for the protection and utilization of revolutionary relics.
Core parts of the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Area:
1. Baota Mountain Scenic Area
2. Zaoyuan Revolutionary Site
3. Yangjialing Revolutionary Site
4. Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall
5. Former Site of the Artillery School and Nanniwan Scenic Area
Walking along the thousand-mu rice field ridges in Nanniwan, visitors finally experience what Chairman Mao said: "Joyfully watching the waves of rippling grain!" Their spirits surge like the waves!
