This trip to Huangshan brought me the most delightful surprise—staying at the "I Jiujie Moye Intangible Cultural Heritage Homestay" nestled beside Hongcun Village. This ancient Huizhou residence, gently embraced by time, made me fall completely in love with the charm and poetry of Huizhou.
The homestay is located in Longjiang Village, Hongcun Town, and was transformed from a 200-year-old Huizhou ink workshop. Just a 10-minute drive from Hongcun Scenic Area, it’s surrounded by ancient villages like Xidi and Nanping, making it incredibly convenient for exploration.
This Qing Dynasty-era Huizhou-style building is exquisitely decorated, blending the classic white walls and black-tiled courtyards with modern minimalist design. It feels as though you can still touch the pulse of Huizhou, even after centuries.
The homestay features 18 guest rooms, primarily twin and family rooms, with soft latex mattresses, smart toilets, refrigerators, and dehumidifiers—all thoughtfully provided. The most considerate touch is the child-friendly amenities, from latex pillows to tiny toothbrushes and mini toilet seats, every detail caters to family travel.
The most healing part of summer is the sparkling blue pool in the eastern courtyard. Children play joyfully in the water while moms relax on the swings by the poolside, capturing effortlessly aesthetic photos.
Every evening, the homestay hosts iron-flower performances and offers free Huizhou ink-making workshops. Grinding inksticks by hand immerses both adults and children in the charm of intangible cultural heritage.
The breakfast served is delicate and delicious, while lunch and dinner feature authentic Huizhou specialties—absolutely delightful! 👍👍👍
The butler-style service is exceptionally thoughtful, with shuttle rides available anytime to spare you unnecessary travel fatigue.
Here, the charm of an ancient mansion blends seamlessly with modern convenience, adding a touch of homey warmth to your journey.
