Step Into a Chinese Scroll: Discover Hongcun Village

Hongcun was first established during the Southern Song Dynasty (around 1131 AD) by the Wang family, who were descendants of a high-ranking official.

The village thrived during the Ming (1368–1644) and Qing (1644–1912) dynasties, becoming home to wealthy merchants and scholars.

Much of the original layout and architecture from these periods has been remarkably preserved.
