The moment I took the high-speed train to Yixian, all the fatigue from work seemed to be blown away by the wind!
Taichuan in the off-season is so caring! With almost no tourists, you can even hear your footsteps walking on the ridges—the golden rice fields are fully spread out, swaying like waves in the wind, naturally filtered with soft light; the pink muhly grass has just turned light pink, stepping into it feels like falling into a pile of cotton candy, and every casual shot looks like a scene from a Japanese movie. Isn't this the real-life countryside from "My Neighbor Totoro"?
📢 Real-time update on Taichuan’s autumn colors:
- Rice fields: 100% golden, already beautiful enough to be wallpaper
- Pink muhly grass: 30% light pink, the soft and cozy vibe just started
- Maple and Chinese tallow trees: 0% color change, still building up their "red buff"
- Persimmons: 70% turning from yellow to red, hanging on branches like little lanterns, but the persimmon leaves haven’t fallen yet
I asked an auntie at the village entrance, and she said around November 10th, the maple leaves will turn orange-red, and the Chinese tallow trees will turn yellow. By then, the whole valley will be a gradient of yellow, orange, and red—just thinking about it is intoxicating!
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by work lately, don’t try to tough it out! Book a ticket to Yixian and stay for two days. Walk along the ridges in Taichuan, take in the entire countryside by yourself, and even your breathing will feel lighter. If you come now, you can secure the "best viewing spot" in advance. When the autumn colors reach their peak in November, it will be absolutely breathtaking!
