Mangshan, located at the border of Hunan and Guangdong, boasts beautiful scenery and is a must-visit attraction. Tour route: The tour lasts about 4-5 hours, with almost no backtracking. Take the shuttle bus from the scenic area entrance to the cable car station, then take the cable car up the mountain. The cable car is really worth it, crossing several mountains and taking about ten minutes. After getting off the cable car, you can walk straight to the Motianling Elevator, which takes about 2 hours. Walk around the Five Finger Peak, passing some attractions like Bagua Terrace and Yin Xin Terrace along the way. If you choose to take the Motianling Elevator, it only takes about 1 minute; if you climb by yourself, it takes 20-30 minutes on very steep steps. The second half of the walk takes about 1-1.5 hours to the Xiaotiantai Elevator 🛗.

For visitors with average stamina, Mangshan is a mountain that basically doesn’t require climbing stairs, mainly walking on flat high-altitude plank roads, so you won’t be out of breath or overly tired. However, walking through the entire scenic area requires about 15,000 steps. Overall, it is quite friendly for the elderly and children.

Transportation-wise, driving is the most convenient way. Free parking is available at the foot of the mountain, and it takes about 2 hours to drive from Chenzhou. Tickets can be purchased online or on-site, with similar prices. The ticket plus round-trip cable car costs 280 yuan, the shuttle bus for the cable car round trip costs 10 yuan, and there is a 40 yuan discount for the elevators (two elevators). Discounts are available for seniors, children, and college students.

There are snack shops at intervals within the scenic area selling grilled sausages, buns, tofu pudding, instant noodles, etc., which can satisfy hunger but are not recommended for a full meal. It is advisable to bring some water and bread. Driving down the mountain for half an hour to Yizhang County offers many farmhouses to choose from.
