📍 5-60 Yamashitacho, Naka Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa 231-0023, Japan
While strolling through Yokohama, I came across the Kaigan Church, and from the very first glance, it felt distinctly different. Even though it's in Japan, the Western-style architecture made it feel like I had stepped into Europe for a moment. 🏰 In fact, this is Japan's first Protestant church, established in 1872, and you can sense the historical significance just from the building itself.
The interior wasn't large, but it had a neat and warm atmosphere that brought a sense of calm. The sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows spread beautifully, making it a healing experience just to sit there for a while. 🙏 It wasn't crowded with tourists and was very quiet, making it a perfect spot to visit while exploring nearby attractions like Yokohama Chinatown or Yamashita Park.
After visiting bustling and vibrant places during the trip, coming to such a serene space felt like a refreshing emotional recharge! If you're in Yokohama, I highly recommend stopping by. 🌿
