2. The Charm of Wawoojeongsa Temple🏠
This is the headquarters of the Korean Buddhist Nirvana Order, a special space housing approximately 3,000 Buddhist statues. Upon entering, an 8-meter-tall bronze Buddha head greets you, and a short climb up reveals a massive 12-meter-long wooden reclining Buddha. This reclining Buddha is even listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. You can also see the brass Jangyukojon Buddha, the Unification Pagoda built with stones from sacred sites around the world, and the ascetic statues made of white and blue jade. Each statue embodies a prayer for the unification of North and South Korea and world peace, making it not only enjoyable to look at but also meaningful.
