Discovered a hidden gem hotel in Zhangjiagang with amazing value for money

Sharing my stay experience at Zhangjiagang Marriott Hotel

This time I successfully experienced the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai Marriott benchmark - the Zhangjiagang Marriott Suite. The overall experience exceeded expectations, with quality evident in every detail. Here's my genuine review~

🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness

Although the hotel opened five or six years ago, its maintenance is excellent. The cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas rivals that of newly opened hotels, with no overlooked details. The soundproofing is outstanding - even during peak holiday occupancy, closing the windows ensures complete indoor tranquility, maximizing rest quality.

🏘️Room Type/Layout

Upgraded from a standard room to an Executive Suite (35th floor), the nearly 100㎡ one-bedroom, one-living-room, two-bathroom space was spacious and comfortable. The neo-Chinese style design breaks away from Marriott's recent standardized approach. The corner floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom offer unobstructed views (note: the opposite office building is relatively close, so drawing curtains is recommended for privacy). The oversized bathtub with floor-to-ceiling windows allows enjoying city views while bathing - just be aware there might be exterior wall cleaning in the mornings, so mental preparation helps~

🛌Amenities/Facilities

The hardware facilities are brand-new with premium quality. Turndown service details were perfect: fresh welcome fruits in the living room, steam eye masks prepared by the bed, anti-slip mats laid in the bathroom, even thoughtful anti-slip measures around the bathtub. The Executive Lounge was a highlight - afternoon tea desserts were exquisite, sweet but not cloying; happy hour offered abundant dishes including beef, duck, spare rib and winter melon soup, even featuring freshly sliced roast duck rolled by staff and served to your seat, paired with custom cocktails - a dining experience rivaling upscale buffets.

💗Other tips

1. Communicate upgrade requests via email or app in advance - the hotel responds well and offers sincere member benefits;
2. If your room isn't ready at check-in, you can wait in the lounge - staff will proactively update progress and deliver your room key there, eliminating repeated inquiries;
3. Lounge staff are warm and will recommend signature drinks - mention dietary restrictions beforehand for more personalized service~

Conclusion: Zhangjiagang Marriott excels in hardware maintenance, service details, and dining quality, making it an "A-student" especially suitable for travelers seeking quality and value. It's definitely worth adding to your "must-stay list" for future Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai trips~
