Tianmenshan is a must-visit in Zhangjiajie! ⛰️

Don't miss Tianmenshan when in Zhangjiajie! 😀

I invested in the VIP pass to get priority access to the cableway and also access to the VIP lounge located at the Tianmen cave square where I could cool down after the hike. The aircon and snacks were a comfort and an indulgence in the sometimes punishing summer weather.

From the square up to Tianmen cave lies 999 steps.🥴 Knowing my own stamina and ability, I chose to take the cableway from the lower station to the upper station, walk to Yunmeng Fairy Peak (access via elevator and then stairs), use the Forest Sightseeing cable car to reach the East Line. After which, I used the escalators to reach the Tianmen Cave and walked down 999 steps. Those with more time can do both West and East lines first before heading down to the cave entrance.

The glass skywalk and forest sightseeing cable car are optional and payable add-ons. Personally, I enjoyed the ropeway experience. The glass skywalk is a test of courage.😅
