Experience a divine lung-nourishing journey at Dinghu Mountain

If it's your first time visiting Zhaoqing, the must-see attractions are undoubtedly Seven Star Crags and Dinghu Mountain! If you plan to visit these two spots, consider purchasing an annual pass. The regular ticket costs 70 RMB, while the annual pass is only 100 RMB, allowing unlimited access to both attractions for two years!

Travel itinerary:
Starting from Hong Kong, I chose the Yongdong Direct Bus as it’s cheaper than the high-speed rail and less challenging to book. The journey takes about two hours, giving you time for a short nap before arriving in Zhaoqing! If you want to begin your trip at Seven Star Crags, opt for accommodation near Star Lake, as it's just a ten-minute distance. The area around the archway has a night market with various food options, and nearby shopping malls offer lower prices compared to Shenzhen and Zhongshan, mainly selling daily necessities and are less crowded.

Early in the morning, take a taxi to the Seven Star Crags Scenic Area. The ticket office staff recommended buying the full-access ticket, which covers the entire scenic area. However, I suggest purchasing the essential tour ticket, as it’s sufficient and excludes only the Wetland Park. If you wish to explore the entire area, you can opt for the full ticket.

The most remarkable feature is the stalactite caves within the scenic area. Visitors board a small boat to enter through a narrow cave entrance, requiring everyone to bend down and lower their heads—a unique experience. We visited during summer, but inside the cave, it felt cool and refreshing, like natural air conditioning. The tour was incredibly comfortable! After leaving the stalactite cave, you can enjoy a boat or bamboo raft ride on the lake, admiring the picturesque lake and mountain views from afar.

For a relaxed Zhaoqing trip, you can spend two days leisurely exploring the two attractions. On the second day, take a taxi to Dinghu Mountain early in the morning. The drive from Seven Star Crags to Dinghu Mountain takes about half an hour. Dinghu Mountain tends to attract more visitors, so it’s best to purchase round-trip tickets for the shuttle bus. On the way down, you’ll pass various scenic spots where you can stop to explore. Walking through the mountain, taking deep breaths, and enjoying the high concentration of negative ions feels like giving your lungs a rejuvenating massage!

I recommend visiting Zhaoqing in any season, as each offers unique and stunning scenery!
