Discovering Xianshi Ancient Town

A while ago, I visited Xianshi Ancient Town in Zigong, Sichuan. This charming town, with over 1,400 years of history, was once a vital salt transportation hub.

The town offers free entry and is beautiful year-round. Highlights included the Chen Family Ancestral Hall, a historical quadrangle built in 1862, and Jinqiao Temple, a well-preserved Qing Dynasty temple. The temple, nestled on a hillside, featured halls dedicated to various deities, including a Thousand-Hand Guanyin statue. We also enjoyed a boat ride along the Fuxi River and spent time at a local teahouse.

The lanterns at the town entrance created a picturesque atmosphere, perfect for photos. Xianshi Ancient Town's blend of history and culture left a lasting impression on me.
