Beijing Tour 20241031-1104

  • Number of days:4 days
  • Time: October
  • Average cost: 3000 yuan
  • With whom: and friends
  • Tour kinds:Free travel

Morning: Walk through Tiananmen Gate Tower and enter the Palace Museum (reservations are required, and arrive early as Beijing is always crowded with tourists). Along the central axis, visit the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Central Harmony, and the Hall of Preserving Harmony, and experience the grandeur of imperial architecture. Exit the Forbidden City's North Gate and ascend to the Wanchun Pavilion in Jingshan Park for a panoramic view of the Forbidden City.
Evening: Walk to Wangfujing Street and enjoy Peking duck (recommended at time-honored restaurants like Quanjude or Dadong). Pair it with Beijing-style noodles with soybean paste and fermented soy sauce for an authentic experience.
DAY2

The Great Wall and the Bird's Nest
Morning: Depart for the Badaling Great Wall (we recommend departing early to avoid crowds, taking the high-speed rail or an early morning tour bus). This time, we booked a tour bus in advance through China-TravelNote for a very reasonable price of just over 100 yuan per person, including round-trip transportation and a guide. We then hiked or took the cable car to the top of Haohan Rock (we recommend taking the cable car, as a long hike would be exhausting and detrimental to the rest of our journey) for breathtaking views of the mountain.
Afternoon: Return via the Bird's Nest and Water Cube exteriors, perfect for a 1-2 hour visit.
DAY3

Day 3: Hutong Culture and Modern Charm
Morning: Explore Nanluoguxiang, exploring arty shops and creative markets, and sample time-honored desserts from brands like Cheese Wei and Wenyu Cheese.
Afternoon: Delve into the Shichahai hutong area, visiting Prince Gong's Mansion and the Bell and Drum Tower for a glimpse into old Beijing life. In the evening, head to the internationally charming waterfront of Liangma River.

Evening: Visit Houhai Bar Street on the shores of Shichahai to experience Beijing's nightlife, or choose to sample traditional dim sum such as pea yellow and donkey rolls at Huguosi Snack Shop.
DAY 4
Day 4: Cultural Landmarks and Imperial Gardens
Morning: Visit the Temple of Heaven, focusing on the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and the Echo Wall to learn about the ancient culture of offering sacrifices to heaven.
Afternoon: Visit the Summer Palace, a vast garden.
Tips:
Advance reservations are required for popular attractions such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Temple of Heaven. For transportation, it is recommended to take the subway as much as possible; the earlier you leave, the less congestion.
