Jizu Mountain, located in Binchuan County, Dali City, Yunnan Province, is the dojo of Kasyapa Bodhisattva, From October 19 to 24, 2020, I went to Yunnan University to recuperate, and there was an arrangement to go to Jizu Mountain on the itinerary. On the morning of the 20th, in the drizzle, I took a car to Jizu Mountain for a tour.

Jizu Mountain is named because its peak rises to the northwest and ends to the southeast, with three peaks in front and a ridge extending behind, resembling Jizu Mountain. The name of the mountain is a bit rustic, and after reading some information on the Internet in the car, I learned that Jizu Mountain is the Kasyapa Bodhisattva dojo, a Buddhist holy place famous in South Asia and Southeast Asia, and one of the top ten famous Buddhist mountains in China. After lunch at a rural restaurant in Siqian Village, Jizushan Town, in front of the mountain, I looked up at Jizu Mountain and saw that the rain and fog were filled with rain and fog, and I couldn't distinguish the shape of the mountain.

Driving into the mountain, I saw a tower on the top of the cliff in the distance, and the weather was varied, and soon disappeared in the rain and mist.

After going up the mountain, go to the scenic sightseeing station from the mountainside parking lot, where the pine forest is dense, the bamboo is dense, the water is gurgling, and the scenery is quiet. When I came to the sightseeing station, I saw a temple next to it, and when I walked in, I saw a temple called the Hall of Thousand Buddhas.

Take the sightseeing bus to the ropeway station, covered in rain and fog, and the scenery is indistinguishable for tens of meters. After arriving at the ropeway station, transfer to the ropeway to Tianzhu Peak, the highest peak of Jizu Mountain. Sitting in the ropeway cable car and looking out, there was a piece of rain and fog, but it was reckless.

Jizu Mountain Tianzhu Peak is 3248 meters above sea level, and the ropeway station is nearly 20 minutes away from the peak.

There was a fork in the road leading to Huashou Gate, but I didn't care, and I didn't intend to go up and down the mountain twice to take a look. I realized afterwards that I missed the attraction, which is a pity. Huashou Gate is a natural giant stone gate on the south side of Tianzhu Peak, with two square towers with dense eaves in front, the famous Drinking Light Twin Pagodas, 4 meters high, built during the Ming Wanli period. According to legend, more than 2,000 years ago, the head of Shakyamuni's ten disciples, the drinking light Kasyapa, holding a golden robe and carrying a relic Buddha's tooth, was to preach the Dharma at the Huashou Gate of Jizu Mountain and keep his clothes in meditation.

The Golden Peak Temple on the top of Tianzhu Peak from Shangxiangshan Road, which is the highest temple in Jizu Mountain, was built during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty.

The most striking thing about the Golden Peak Temple is the Golden Hall and the towering Lengyan Pagoda behind the hall. The Golden Hall is actually a copper hall, which was moved here from Mingfeng Mountain in Kunming during the Ming Chongzhen period (1637), but unfortunately it was destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution". Now the Golden Hall, I stroked it with my hand, and it felt like it was wooden.

The Lengyan Pagoda is a hollow square dense eaves brick tower, 42 meters high, 13 levels, formerly known as the Guangming Pagoda, in 1929, at the request of the monks during the mountaineering tour of Yunnan Province, he allocated a huge amount of money to rebuild it and changed its name, and inscribed "Dharma Appearance Solemn". It is said that when you climb the tower to the second floor, you can overlook the magnificent scenery of Jizu Mountain's "four views", that is, the sunrise in the east, the auspicious clouds in the south, the Erhai Lake in the west, and the jade dragon (Lijiang Jade Dragon Snow Mountain) in the north.

Jizu Mountain was the end of Xu Xiake's lifelong journey in the Ming Dynasty, and he once went to Jizu Mountain twice in the eleventh year of Ming Chongzhen (1638) and the twelfth year of Chongzhen (1639), praising "the wonders of ancient and modern victories", and compiled the first "Jizu Mountain Chronicle". He climbed to the top of Tianzhu Peak and sighed, "East Sun, West Sea, Nanyun, North Snow, and Four, one of the four in the sea is already amazing, and Tianzhu Peak is one of the four views of the world, which is not only the chief of Jishan, but also the first in the world!" ”

Unfortunately, I climbed to the top of Tianzhu Peak, because of the rain and fog, I couldn't see the mountain scenery in the distance, and I couldn't experience the magnificent scenery of Jizu Mountain, which was like my golden peak on Mount Emei in 2011.

It is said that Jizu Mountain has eight scenic spots, including "Tianzhu Buddha Light", "Huashou Qinglei", "Erhai Huilan", "Cangshan Snow", "Ten Thousand Ravines and Pine Waves", "Waterfall Through the Clouds", "Hanging Rock Sunset", "Tower Courtyard Autumn Moon", etc., which have been chanted by poets and writers of all dynasties. Jizu Mountain also has Zhusheng Temple, Huayan Temple, Sleeping Buddha Temple and other temples distributed in the deep mountains and valleys, and it is said that Tibetan lamas carry scriptures and Buddha statues to worship Jizu Mountain every Year of the Rooster. All of this can only be saved for future visits.

Leave the Golden Peak Temple and go down the mountain from the temple gate. Passing by the Sanguan Hall, looking back here, the rain and fog are shrouded, the weather is myriad, a bit not a fairyland, it is better than a fairyland.

Go down Tianzhu Peak and take the cable car back to the ropeway station. Suddenly discovered that the ancient ginkgo forest next to the ropeway station presented the artistic conception of ink paintings in the rain and mist.

All the way out of the scenic spot sightseeing station to the scenic parking lot, along the forest Xiake Ancient Road, I suddenly found that there were small monkeys on the treetops on the side of the road, and it turned out that this area was a monkey area The smart little monkey brought an interesting ending to my trip to Jizu Mountain.

Just after leaving Jizu Mountain, the rain cleared and the clouds cleared, and sometimes the sun appeared, maybe an hour late from Jizu Mountain, you can see the scenery of Jizu Mountain clearly, which cannot but be said to be a pity.
