There is a kind of beauty in Dali, called the yellow rice fields in Xizhou. It is a good time for travel photography!
Xizhou Ancient Town, a place you'll want to visit again and again. Xizhou Ancient Town is known as China's premier Bai ethnic town, the hometown of the film "Five Golden Flowers," and the "Cambridge of the East," as described by Lao She. It's understood that during the 2021 National Day holiday, 100,000 tourists from all over visited beautiful Xizhou. In the golden autumn of October, the wind carries the fragrance of rice paddies, filling the ancient city of Xizhou. Have you found your own dream?
The 7-day National Day holiday of 2021 just passed. On October 8th, after repeated invitations from a friend called "lao niu," several friends and I made a trip to Xizhou Ancient Town to enjoy the autumn. This was our second trip this year to photograph the rice paddies there. For details about my first trip to Xizhou's rice paddies, please refer to "A Travel Photographer's Notes on Golden Autumn Rice Paddies in Xizhou Ancient Town, Dali (Exquisite Photos Included)."
There's a kind of life called Dali! There's a beauty in Dali called the turning yellow rice paddies in Xizhou, perfect for travel photography!
In the season when a single leaf signals autumn, the wind whips through the rice paddies. The beauty of Xizhou awaits you in autumn, and the wind awaits you too. The most beautiful scenery is within your eyes. Come to Xizhou Ancient Town in Dali. The internet-famous rice fields have completely turned yellow—perfect for travel photography!
Autumn is a season of joy and harvest.
There are countless words to describe the beauty of autumn, and there are countless descriptions of its beauty.
Even if you could collect countless autumn quotes, you wouldn't be better off just running into the fields and smelling the delicate fragrance of rice flowers.
The fragrance of rice is the scent of autumn's harvest; only mature rice grains know how to bend.
Enjoy the gentle breeze from the rice paddies, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rice paddies of Xizhou Ancient Town are truly unique.
Then we arrived at the rice paddies behind Xilinyuan in Xizhou Ancient Town, where we experienced a close encounter with the golden rice fields. The fragrant aroma of rice blossoms and the sight of golden harvest scenery everywhere we looked made Xizhou's rice fields a perfect time for travel photography.
Climb up to the viewing platform on the second floor of Xilinyuan and overlook the yellow rice fields of Xizhou. That is truly the beauty of Dali, the beauty of golden harvest. When traveling, how can you not try the local cuisine?
When traveling, how can you not try the local cuisine? Led by "Lao Niu," a man known for his "Xizhou know-it-all," we chose to have lunch at Hanlin Restaurant, a popular Xizhou restaurant. We savored Bai ethnic specialties like hot and sour fish, raw hide, and Xizhou baba, as well as "stir-fried bitter melon with beans and rice," stir-fried meat, and leafy vegetables. After lunch, we passed the Round Corner Building and wandered the cobblestone streets of the ancient town, finally arriving at Sifang Street. A handmade popsicle from the "Cooling Hut" was a refreshing touch on a golden autumn afternoon. After a leisurely stroll through Sifang Street and a visit to the old house of the Qiao Family Compound, our leisurely photo-taking trip to the Xizhou rice fields concluded.
1. Xizhou's "Xizhou East Ring Road" or "Zhendong Road" has become one-way since National Day. Don't drive the wrong way. The section of road from the "Haishe Line Highway" through "Dong Family Courtyard," "Yuanjiao Building," "Dong'anmen," and finally to the "Southeast Parking Lot" is a one-way street. Therefore, it is recommended that those who drive themselves park at the "Southeast Parking Lot" at the southern end and walk to Xilin Garden, "Round Corner Building," or Xizhou Rice Fields for the best experience.
2. The best time to visit the Xizhou Rice Fields is between mid-September and mid-to-late October.
3. If you want to try the Bai ethnic minority delicacy, raw hide, it is recommended to try it during lunch.
