After I went to Guizhou for summer vacation last year, I wanted to go to Yunnan and Guizhou in the summer. I went to Yunnan more than 10 years ago, and this year I went to revisit the old place with my family.
We went there by sleeper train and arrived in Kunming in 28 hours. It started to rain heavily as soon as we got off the train and it was hard to get a taxi. We didn’t get to the hotel until 11pm.
First stop: Yunnan Nationalities Village
Second stop, Dianchi Lake, Xishan Mountain. There was no queue for the cable car going up, but I had to queue for more than an hour for the cable car going down. The experience was not strong.
The third stop was Kunming Old Street, where we had mushroom hotpot and ate insects.
