More than 100 rare animals, including giant pandas, red pandas, black-necked cranes, white cranes, etc., are raised here all year round.

The best time to see pandas is before 09:30, because there is a feeding time between 9:00-11:00, and the pandas will fall into a deep sleep after eating. Another reason is that pandas are generally afraid of heat, so you must arrive early, preferably around 8:00, to avoid the crowds and see the various poses of the giant pandas.

There is a direct bus to the scenic area at IFS on Chunxi Road, which is jointly operated by the government and goes directly to the panda base. However, it is not recommended. The first bus leaves at 8:30 and the journey takes nearly 50 minutes.

You can also take Metro Line 3 at Chunxi Road, get off at Exit A of Panda Avenue Station, and transfer to Bus No. 198 or 198a to reach Panda Base Station.

How to get there:

Method 1: Buy a package of bus ticket + entrance ticket on the WeChat official account of Chengdu Scenic Area Direct Bus, which is about 80 yuan. The full ticket is 58 yuan, and 20 yuan is the bus fare. The bus will start at Chunxi Road ifs, go around the Jinli area to pick up tourists, and then go to the panda base. The total journey is about 50 minutes. Since there is no half-price package on the official account, it is not recommended for students, the elderly and other tourists who can enjoy half-price tickets to choose this package.

Method 2: In order to avoid taking a detour and not being able to enjoy the half-price ticket, we decided to go there by ourselves. In fact, the transportation is already very convenient. Take the subway at Chunxi Road and go to the Panda Avenue subway station. There is a bus to the entrance of the panda base at the exit of the station, which costs two yuan. Please note that it is a bus, not a coach. It is run by the government and has a red panda image on the body. After getting off the bus, follow the crowd and walk for 3 minutes to the entrance of the panda base. The whole journey takes about 30 minutes and costs 8 yuan.



Tickets:

For tickets, you can buy tickets for 29 yuan from the official account mentioned in method 1, or buy half-price tickets on site with your student ID.



Play time:

Tour time: 7:30-18:00, with feeding time from 9:00-11:00 in the morning, which is also the time when pandas are most active. They will come out to climb trees, play and roll around with each other. So this is also the time when the most tour groups come.

After 11 o'clock, the pandas will want to sleep and their activity will decrease, so it will be difficult to see their simple and cute appearance. I suggest you go to the panda base a little earlier, around 8:30, to see the baby pandas in the panda delivery room when there are fewer people, and then go out to see the pandas rolling around outdoors. If it rains, the pandas' outdoor activities will also decrease, so you must check the weather before going out.



Game content:

There are two species, pandas and red pandas. Pandas are raised according to age groups. They live in villas (glass houses), ordinary houses (cement houses) or outdoors (small hills). The instructions in the scenic area are very clear, so just follow them.

There is a palm-sized panda doll that can be clipped on your head. It costs 10 yuan each and you can buy one as a souvenir. Of course, there is a panda post office in the panda base, where you can stamp the panda base's unique seal and postmark and send a postcard to yourself.

The panda base is in the suburbs, so there will be a lot of people if you go late, and weekdays are no exception. There are many foreign friends who come here specifically to see the pandas.

It is recommended to book tickets online. You can enter by swiping your ID card, avoiding wasting time queuing up to buy tickets on site.

Transportation

You can take the subway to Panda Avenue Station or Zoo Station, then take the bus directly to the gate of the Panda Base. It is recommended not to wait for the scenic area through bus, the first through bus is at 8:30, and the Panda Base opens at 8:00, even earlier in summer, and there are a lot of people going late.

After entering, I bought a sightseeing bus ticket for the scenic area according to the online guide. It cost 10 yuan per person and you can take it round trip and get on and off at any stop.

Tour route 📜

It is recommended to get off at the Moon Delivery Room first, and walk from top to bottom to save energy. Then you can see the Baby Panda Villa, Villa No. 2, Sun Delivery Room, and Villa No. 1. You can also see the Internet-famous giant pandas "Meilan" and "Fushun".

Tips

During the panda breeding season from June to August, you can also see cute pink panda cubs. It takes about 3-4 hours to visit the panda base, and about 2.5 hours if you take a sightseeing bus.

Bus

Take the subway and get off at Panda Avenue. After exiting the station, there is a pavilion-like house with staff in yellow clothes. You can buy tickets there, and there is a free bus to take you to the gate of the base.

You can also buy direct buses to major scenic spots there. We also bought tickets to Kuanzhai Alley for 10 per person, and the buses depart on a rolling basis.

After we got on the bus and started driving, there was a guide on the bus, which made us very happy. According to the guide, as soon as we entered the gate, one of us bought tickets for the sightseeing bus in the scenic area, and the other went to queue up (also: the visitor center at the gate can store luggage for free)!!!

The sightseeing convoy was very long, but also very fast. We went directly to the Moon Delivery Room, where there were two cubs that were more than three months old. We also saw Meilan, who had grown into an adult giant panda.

All points in the scenic area are one-way lines, and you can go around in a circle. There are many pandas in each point.



The Moon Delivery Room is not the topmost point. There is also a Giant Panda Villa No. 2 on top? There are many pandas inside. GunGun is really super super cute. There are also many foreigners who come to see GunGun and take crazy photos with their mobile phones.



The advantage of coming early is that everyone is eating, and watching them eat bamboo shoots is really delicious.

Along the main road where the sightseeing bus passes, there are various tourist attractions on both sides. It is recommended to just see the giant pandas and red pandas. Swans and other animals are more common. The base is really huge and your feet will hurt from walking there.



The last place we turned to was the red panda spot. The red pandas were all sleeping on the trees, and their faces were almost invisible. Finally, we took the return battery car back to the gate.

Tips for visiting the Panda Base: (for holidays)

1. It is best to go to the panda base in the morning. It is said that the cute pandas go to sleep after 10:30.

2. Physical tickets and ticket vending machines are faster than mobile phone electronic tickets, because everyone takes it for granted that the queue for buying tickets will be very long and slow, so everyone buys electronic tickets in advance. In fact, it is not the case. We bought tickets at the ticket vending machine (student tickets can be purchased) and then checked the tickets at the physical ticket entrance. We went in one go, which was much faster than those queuing for electronic tickets!

3. You must go to the toilet in advance before entering the scenic area, and then try to drink less water when you enter, otherwise you will die in the queue. Each women's toilet has to wait for at least 20-60 minutes, which is simply killing your youth hhh

4. When watching panda babies in the panda delivery room and villa, don’t crowd at the entrance to take pictures right away. There are too many people and you can’t squeeze in, which wastes time. In fact, the further you go, the better the view will be, and you can also grab a good photo spot.

Transportation

You can get on the bus directly after you come out of the ticket office. The bus will only leave when it is full. It is said that the bus runs every few minutes in the morning and every fifteen minutes in the afternoon. The first bus leaves at 7:30 and the last bus leaves at 16:00. It takes about ten minutes to drive to the base.



Tickets 🎫

Arriving at the base, you can scan the QR code to enter the park, which is very convenient and hassle-free. However, if you want to collect tickets, you should buy them on the spot. After entering the park, walk to the right and you can buy a ticket for the scenic area sightseeing bus. Ten yuan per ticket can be used for one round trip on the same day. Unless you come early, there will usually be a long queue at the waiting point.



Tour 🎈

Take the tour bus to the highest point of the Moon Delivery Room, where most of the little dumplings are, and then you can browse them from top to bottom. As a person with poor directionality, I got lost as expected, hahahaha.



The nearest place from the Moon is Villa No. 2. Down from Villa No. 2 is the kindergarten. Near the kindergarten are the Sun Delivery Room and Villa No. 1. Villa No. 14 is closest to the gate. If you want to see the mini rolling and mother and child rolling, you have to go to the Moon and Sun.



The time for cat fishing is between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Cat fishing means that the breeders string apples and steamed bread together with bamboo poles and train the cats to stand and eat, so as to train the strength of their hind limbs.



The entire base is well-greened, with bamboo paths everywhere. The average living area for the pandas is relatively small, but there are many rest areas and toilets for tourists. The planning and environment of the scenic area are relatively friendly to tourists, and it is a good place to spend time.



Tips✋

However, when visiting, please do not bang on the glass, throw garbage into the enclosure, make loud noises, take photos with flash, or feed the animals.



Giant pandas have sensitive hearing and loud noises can make them uncomfortable, while flashes can harm their eyes, especially those of their cubs.



The giant panda's daily diet is strictly controlled and disinfected. Feeding them at random or littering may cause intestinal obstruction or bacterial infection, and in severe cases may even endanger the life of the national treasure. So let's start with you and me to visit in a civilized manner and protect the animals.



Please note that those who want to take the scenic area direct bus back to the Panda Avenue subway station on the return trip must return to the boarding point from the gate at 3:30 at the latest, because the last bus is at 4 o'clock. Those who take taxis can arrange their time as they please.

I went there in April, here are my feelings:

1. Time. Many people mentioned that you must go early. I saw that even at 10 o'clock, there were still many pandas eating. Of course, most of them were motionless except for eating. I didn't see many pandas, only two were relatively active. So I don't think you need to go too early deliberately, because if you go too early, you will have to take the subway by yourself.

2. Transportation: Take the subway to Panda Avenue Station and you can buy tickets and buses to the Panda Base. You can get a free ride if you buy tickets there, or you can buy a separate ticket for 2 yuan, or you can buy a return ticket. You can book a bus from Wuhou Temple, Chunxi Road, Kuanzhai Alley to the Panda Base on Ctrip for 7 yuan, all after 7:30.

3. Sightseeing bus: I don't think it's necessary to take it. I arrived at around 8 o'clock and the line for the sightseeing bus was already very long. It took quite a while to queue up. And there's no need to visit from top to bottom. There are no panda babies to see in this season, which is not the breeding season. At the top, a lot of people squeeze around a panda, while at the bottom, there may be a small group of people surrounding a few pandas. The viewing experience is much better. You can walk up while visiting.

Let me first talk about my route. Don't take the bus to the scenic area, because the first bus leaves at 8 o'clock, and don't think about buying tickets at the gate, because the ticket office of the scenic area also opens at 8 o'clock. I live near the Second Municipal Hospital, and the subway line 3 is only one stop away from Chunxi Road. I got up at 6 o'clock that day. The first bus of Chengdu Metro is at 6:10. I calculated that the first bus will arrive at the Second Municipal Hospital Station at 6:40. I took the subway to the Panda Avenue Station, walked 50 meters from the exit of Station A, took bus 198 or 198A to the gate of the base, downloaded the software "Tianfutong, and scanned the QR code when taking the subway and bus. It is super convenient.

The scenic spot opens at 7:30. If nothing unexpected happens, it may not be open when you arrive. Search the official account "Chengdu Scenic Spot Direct Bus" on WeChat and buy tickets online directly. You can enter the park with a QR code or ID card. The ticket price is 52.

After entering the park, don't wait for the 10-yuan sightseeing bus, because that also opens at 8 a.m. Use Baidu Maps, download an offline map of Chengdu, walk to the Moon Delivery Room in 15-20 minutes, then walk down to the Sun Delivery Room, Villa 1, Villa 2, the Red Panda Habitat, Swan Lake, Panda Gallery, and finally buy some souvenirs at the Panda Post Office at the gate. It takes almost 3 hours to have fun. At this time, the main group enters the park one after another, and the crowds are crowded, while we have already finished, so you must get up early, otherwise there will not only be glass between you and the pandas, but also countless heads.



Ps :

1. Don't wait to see the panda cubs. Pandas mate and give birth to cubs in September or October. The area where the panda cubs are displayed is covered with curtains. That day, I and many other girls waited for a long time, and finally found out after asking the security guard.

2. The red panda habitat has a captive area and a free-range area. If you are lucky like me, you may occasionally encounter a red panda on the stone steps in the free-range area. It is really cute.

3. There are so many young ladies who go to see the giant pandas, and they all get up very early.

4. Finally, I sincerely think that pandas’ sleeping positions are all very charming.

Pandas are the cutest gift that nature has given to Chengdu, so this base is worth visiting. The roads in the base are all shaded by bamboos, which gives the impression of "winding paths leading to secluded places". If visitors want to see giant pandas, it is recommended to choose to see red pandas, because giant pandas are very lazy and sleep all day long, while red pandas are energetic, rolling on the ground chewing bamboo or playing with each other, which always makes people laugh. It is also recommended to visit in spring and autumn, because in summer, due to the hot weather, pandas will always hide in air-conditioned rooms, and tourists will not be able to get close to the lovely national treasures.

This is the most popular attraction in Chengdu. There is no doubt that the innocent appearance of the national treasures has attracted countless people to visit, including Dong Ge. To be honest, the giant panda is a ferocious beast in nature. It is said that its bite force is extremely amazing. Now it can make a living by being cute and dominate the martial arts world. It is also admirable!



There is nothing else to remind you when you go to the panda base. Remember one word: "early". You must come early! If you arrive late, you can only see a group of sleeping giant pandas. They are so proud that they will not wait for you to come late! When we arrived, it was just after eight o'clock, and tourists were already coming in an endless stream.



The route to visit the panda base is very simple. It is recommended to walk to the farthest Moon Delivery Room first, and then walk all the way down to visit slowly. If you don't want to walk, you can also take the scenic area's tour bus, which seems to be 10 yuan per person. The Moon Delivery Room and the Sun Delivery Room are where you can visit the baby pandas. This is also where the tourists are most concentrated and the queues are the most fierce. However, even if you take a quick glance through the glass, the appearance of the baby pandas can instantly melt your heart. The healing skills of these little angels are off the charts every minute!



The tour routes here are one-way, and there are security guards at every location to maintain order and let everyone pass quickly. If you want to see them more in the crowd, you can only queue up again. Dong Ge will tell you that he queued up three times to take these photos!



This place completely simulates the living environment of giant pandas in the wild, with lakes, streams, bamboo forests, lawns and other landscapes. Each giant panda has a name and introduction. As I said, you must come early so that you can see the giant pandas in action. It seems that they are all very camera-savvy. When they know someone is taking pictures, they will act cute in front of the camera.



In addition to giant pandas, there are also red pandas, black swans and other animals. They seem to be unafraid of people and run around in the park. There is also a panda post office and gift shop at the entrance of the park. You can't buy real pandas, but you can take some souvenirs home.

The tickets are not very expensive. We went there at the right time today. The weather couldn't be hot. The giant pandas are also very lively and cute. The park is very large and the environment is very good. You can see cute giant pandas everywhere. They are very cute. If you have enough time, you can choose to walk in the park for a few hours (about three or four hours to complete the tour!). You can choose to walk directly from the gate to the moon delivery room at the top and then walk down slowly. You can choose not to take the scenic spot sightseeing bus (the fare is 10 yuan/person), because the journey is not far, and there are too many people waiting in line for the bus. It's very good to play slowly. Just remember to mark it on the map after you walk to a small scenic spot, because every road seems to be connected, and every time you go to a new scenic spot, the appearance feels the same as the previous one, so it's hard to remember whether you have been there. It's a tiring day, but it's still worth it. I will go there again when I have time in the future.

I read the guide before going there, and it said that we should go very early. So I stayed in the hotel near the zoo station the night before, and got up early the next morning to go there. When I arrived, it was around 7:30, and there were already quite a lot of people. I bought the ticket at the self-service ticket machine. After entering the gate, the stairs on the left hand side are the museum and other things, and you can store your luggage there. Although everyone in the guide said that we should take the sightseeing bus to the Moon Delivery Room and walk down, because there were not many people at that time, my mother also suggested that we walk up, so we walked and watched. It turned out to be right! Because at the beginning, I saw the scene of adult pandas eating breakfast! ... By the way, there were indeed foreigners who came to see the pandas…😂 (As for why I was particularly glad that I didn’t take the sightseeing bus, it was because when we returned from the bus at around 10 o’clock, we found that there were so many people, so crowded… We couldn’t see the pandas at all, all we saw were heads😂)

I was even luckier because I saw a "panda fight" this time. Haha... It was so cute. I was so lucky to have encountered this scene at that time~~

By the way, the postcards for this scenic spot are 5 yuan each... and there is no stamp! I saw in the guide that there is one... T_T

Be sure to go early! The pandas start eating from 9 to 11 o'clock, and then start to sleep. I heard from the explanation that they can sleep until 4 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon. If you don't go early, you can only see the national treasure sleeping! ! ! The gate opens at 7:30 in winter, and the battery car tickets are sold at 8 o'clock. It is recommended that if you arrive early and have the physical strength to walk, take advantage of these 30 minutes to walk to the moon delivery room, and then start to turn back. During this period of time, you feel that everything is under your control, and there are very few people (there are too many people queuing for the battery car, which is what I did). The base is very large and there are many people. Walk slowly. If you play by yourself, one morning is the best. In addition, the delivery room is basically closed in winter, and you can't see the newly born pandas. I personally recommend taking the Chengdu Scenic Area Through Bus (not the Panda Bus, I took the Scenic Area Through Bus) when returning to the city. Those who get up early must transfer from the subway to the bus. The through bus back goes directly to the main attractions, which is more convenient and reduces transfers. At the same time, there are official explanations on the bus, and the ticket service is quite complete. Go to Chengdu to see pandas, it's so cute~

There were not many people in front of the panda base, which had just opened on the first day of the new year. Tickets booked online in advance do not need to be exchanged. You can enter by scanning the code on your mobile phone at the gate, which is very convenient. According to the strategy prepared in advance, we have to take the first batch of battery cars up the mountain to the Moon Delivery Room, and then walk and play down the mountain. Don't panic after entering the gate. Turn right and walk towards Swan Lake to find the battery station. The previous strategy said that there are two queues for buying tickets and waiting for the car. It is best to buy tickets and queue up by one person. But it may be because of the Spring Festival. When we went, we only needed to queue up directly, and the ticket seller came to the queue to collect money. The battery car started running at 8 o'clock. Because we did a good job of strategy, we pushed the children for a while after entering the park, and actually got on the first battery car in the first batch! There are three or four battery cars in total, each of which can seat more than a dozen people, so if you miss the first batch of cars and there are many people in line, you might as well walk up the mountain. Because I was afraid that it would be cold on the mountain, I specially armed my child. As a result, except for the cold on the mountain car, it was not cold at other times.

As we walked along, we could see that more and more people were going up the mountain, but it was still acceptable. When we left at 11 o'clock, the gate was already crowded with people, so you must come to the panda base early! However, I saw photos posted by others in the group a few days later. Starting from the second day of the Chinese New Year, even at 7:30 in the morning, the people queuing at the gate were already a sea of ​​people.

I think it's always right to go early. The housekeeper of the B&B also reminded me that the dumplings are most active in the morning. When we arrived in the morning, they were eating and moving around. When the sun was high and they were full, they would climb up the shelves or tall trees to take a nap.

From the entrance, we went straight up to the Moon Delivery Room, and then down to the Sun Delivery Room. We didn't see the scene of the scientific research staff raising the panda cubs. Because the smallest giant panda in the base is already half a year old, it can be released outdoors. We saw it very high up in a tree. If someone hadn't discovered it and pointed it out, I really wouldn't have found it.

The pandas live in their own villas, which have trees, pillars and ladders for them to play. When they want to rest, they can hide or climb to a higher place. They live very comfortably in the villas. The management of the site and the maintenance of discipline are very good. Although there are no panda babies in the Sun Delivery Room, there are still introduction videos available for viewing.

In addition to giant pandas, the base also has free-range red pandas and peacocks, and the various birds in the base are not afraid of people and fly very close to people. This also shows the management of the base and the self-consciousness of tourists.

Coming down from the mountain, there are the Giant Panda Science Museum and the Giant Panda Museum. The contents of the Giant Panda Science Museum are still very professional with specialized biological expertise, but there are also many popular science films to watch. I don't have time to visit the museum, which is good.

You must go early, early, early to see the pandas! Important things should be said three times! We came on the third day of the Chinese New Year. We arrived at 7 o'clock and bought tickets to enter the park at 7:30. There were already many people when we arrived, but it was not too crowded. We first went to the sun delivery room and found that bamboo had just been put in. The pandas had just woken up and were eating breakfast. When we went to the moon delivery room, it was still being cleaned. Some of the pandas were still in the trees. It was so cute!!!

The main entrance of the Giant Panda Base, you can enter by swiping your ticket here, and the exit is right next to it. The sculpture after entering the door is an oversized brass ball. There are two routes, A and B. Most people choose Route B, and they feel that they can see more pandas, but the panda delivery room is not open in winter, and the younger pandas are all in Route A, so if you want to see smaller pandas, it is better to take Route A. The first panda that came into view, I had heard from the guide that pandas sleep in the afternoon, and sure enough, the first one was sleeping, and the sleeping posture was still so ecstatic, stuck in the branches, pretending that the body was sleeping, but the soul was flying. The sun delivery room on Route B is not open in winter, so it is a pity that I can't see the pandas that are just born like dumplings.



Finally, I saw the baby panda, rolling around on its mother's body.

We left the Giant Panda Base at 3 p.m.

It is recommended to go to the Moon Delivery Room or the Sun Delivery Room first, and go early. The pandas are not asleep yet. The keepers have just put out fresh bamboo in the morning, and the pandas will eat for a while. If you go after noon, the pandas will find a place to sleep.

Giant pandas are so adorable, and we saw many foreign tourists who probably came from far away just to see our cute giant pandas.

Looking closely, each one of them is so adorable. They climb trees, chew bamboo with relish, and eat their meal slowly and leisurely, completely ignoring the looks of others. Their chubby appearance really melts my heart.

There are several very cute panda sculptures at the entrance of the panda base. Some are practicing martial arts, some are taking pictures, and some are exploring. Each one is very cool.

XS told me that to see the giant pandas, you must arrive before 9 am, because the giant pandas will sleep in the afternoon. However, I really couldn't get up, and I found a very reasonable reason for myself: since everyone thinks that you must arrive before 9 am, there must be a lot of people in the morning, so I'd better go in the afternoon. However, there are still a lot of people in the afternoon, from...

Although most of them were asleep in the afternoon, there were still some energetic babies who showed me their cuteness.

There are many pandas inside, each of them is very cute~ Watching the pandas eating, sleeping, fighting and rolling around makes me feel very happy~ The red pandas are in the Moon Delivery Room and the Sun Delivery Room, and the others are relatively large. However, if you want to see the newly born red pandas, you have to go in the summer. We went in January, and the youngest panda was already six months old. You have to go early to see the giant pandas. If you go late, there will be a lot of people, and you have to squeeze to see them. We went in as soon as the door opened at 7:30. There were few people in the Moon Delivery Room, and we could take selfies with the pandas~ In addition to pandas, you can also see black swans and red pandas in the panda base. Red pandas look a bit like raccoons. Because they like to run around, they may be harder to find than pandas.

Especially in winter. Giant pandas come out more in the morning, so remember to wear more clothes! It's very cold

Through the glass, I seemed to be able to touch their furry and chubby appearance. The Japanese girl next to them kept exclaiming how cute they were.

There is actually a three-story museum in the giant panda base, near the main entrance. It is quite interesting, but not many people go there. I recommend you to go and have a look, there are many works related to pandas.

When you come to the giant panda base, you must send a postcard. The postcards inside are all cute photos of giant pandas, it is worth buying two.

The guides online all say that you must go early to see the pandas (preferably before the ticket sales start at 7:30) so that you can see the most lively pandas with the least crowds.

For this reason, we gave up the Panda Express (because the first bus was at 8 o'clock) and went out before dawn. Fortunately, it was not expensive to take a taxi early in the morning. It only took 34 yuan and the ride was half an hour.

After successfully buying the tickets and entering the park gate, I went straight to the electric car ticket office to queue up, and successfully got on the first few electric cars, yeah!

The route we chose was to go to the Moon Delivery Room to see the baby pandas.

After coming out of the Moon Delivery Room, we first walked up to Villa No. 1, and then walked down to visit Villa No. 2, the Sun Delivery Room, and other areas for giant pandas and red pandas.

It took about two and a half hours to walk around. There were many bamboos planted at the base, which was very cool and the air was very fresh. It was so comfortable. I envy these black and white groups.

Don’t forget to send a postcard from the Panda Post Office before you leave. You can also get a special postmark.

The panda base opens at 7:30 in the morning. Because it is far from the city center, students have to get up early.

After we exited the subway station, we could see the Chengdu Scenic Area Through Bus Store, where students could buy tickets and take a free bus to the Panda Base, because there is still a long way from the subway station to the Panda Base. The Panda Base is not a big scenic spot, but it takes a lot of time to walk around carefully. There is also a Swan Lake in it.
