Jiaju Tibetan Village

甲居藏寨

Danba Tibetan Village, represented by Jiaju Tibetan Village, is the first of the six most beautiful ancient rural towns in China.
The structure and eaves of the village building are red, and the walls are painted white or primary colors. There are sun, moon, stars and religious patterns on them, which are beautiful and spectacular.
On the eve of the Spring Festival every year, the owners will follow traditional customs and use local white mud as the main raw material to carefully paint the walls of the village building.
The best way to travel is to visit or stay at a Tibetan family’s home, experience butter tea and tsampa, and feel the Tibetan family’s hospitality.
The rural scenery of Jiaju Tibetan Village is also worth seeing, with green wheat seedlings, yellow rapeseed flowers, and white pear flowers, as if entering a sea of flowers.

The first of the six most beautiful rural ancient towns in China, under the guidance of the tour guide, drive to visit, the walls of the buildings are white, and the eaves are red. In spring and summer, the layers of village houses are built on the mountain, hidden in the green grass and trees all over the mountains, and the mountain streams flow through. People and nature are harmoniously integrated, which can be called a wonderful mountain village painting. Along the way, listening to the explanation of the Tibetan tour guide, watching the surrounding residents' different language and skin color from other Tibetans, the legend of the Muya people immediately emerged in my mind. It is said that the Danba Tibetans have never been accepted and recognized by the surrounding Tibetans. They belong to the Dangxiang people of the ancient Western Xia Kingdom who migrated here. The Dangxiang people surrendered to the Tang Dynasty due to the invasion of Tubo since the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. They migrated from the southeast of Qinghai to Inner Mongolia and Ningxia and gradually established their country. The ten-generation dynasty was ultimately defeated by Genghis Khan, and their city was massacred and their country was destroyed. Except for a part of their descendants who drifted to some places in the south, most of them migrated to the south and drifted to Kangding areas in Tibet and Sichuan. The Dangxiang people merged with the local aborigines to form the Muya Tibetans. The Muya language, which is different from other Tibetans, the tragic Guozhuang dance, and the worship of the color white in the paintings on the rocks in the mountains are all evidence of this.

Danba is an important settlement of the Jiarong Tibetans who revere the sacred Mount Merduo. It is also the place with the most concentrated and largest number of watchtowers in China's Tibetan cultural area, and is known as the "Ancient Country of Thousands of Watchtowers".

When you come to the Tibetan area, you must visit the Tibetan villages. The most important thing you can't miss in the Tibetan villages in Sichuan and Tibet is the watchtowers.

Diaolou is not a unique architectural form in the Hengduan Mountain area. It is widely distributed among the mountains and rivers of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. In the thousands of years of human history, it has assumed a variety of social functions such as military, living and management. However, it is extremely rare to see such a dense and rich concentration of buildings in the Hengduan Mountain area, especially in the Minjiang River, Yalong River and Dadu River basins.

Diaolou are basically built near the river and on the mountain, they are easy to defend but difficult to attack. From the appearance, they are divided into four-cornered, five-cornered, six-cornered, eight-cornered, twelve-cornered and thirteen-cornered. The higher the number of corners, the more difficult it is to build and the greater the deterrent effect on the outside. From the function, there are also differences in family towers, village towers, beacon towers, sentry towers and boundary towers. One tower can defend itself or a group of towers can form a village, all depending on the ability of the unit. The simple and rugged towers with strong outlines are like keys to open the treasure house, guiding people to open the dusty historical stories hidden in them. If the river is a rope, then the Diaolou is the knot. It is not a word, but it can tell.

Danba, located on the Dadu River, is also known as the "Land of Thousands of Diaolou". It is the area with the largest number and best quality of preserved Diaolou in the entire Hengduan Mountain area. At present, there are 562 ancient Diaolou preserved in Danba, scattered in Suopo, Zhonglu, Pujiaoding and other places.

The watchtowers in Danba area are all made of wood and stone. The earliest existing watchtower was built in the Han Dynasty, more than 2,000 years ago, and the latest was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty when the Jinchuan River was pacified, more than 200 years ago.

Jiaju Tibetan Village is the most developed of the Danba Tibetan Villages. In recent years, along with the construction of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, viewing platforms, plank roads, signboards, and folk customs have been set up, which is very convenient. Staying overnight or using it as a stopover is a good choice.

Regarding tickets, various guides say that the ticket price is 50 yuan;

But from the time we entered the village to the time we left the scenic area, no one charged us for admission?

When we left the scenic area, we saw that the ticket gate was completely unattended?

It turns out that Jiaju Tibetan Village has stopped charging admission tickets since July 3, 2018!!!

Entering Danba, you can see various Tibetan villages everywhere.

But the houses in Jiaju Tibetan Village are indeed quite exquisite among many Tibetan villages.

Of course, maybe it’s because the scenic area is well maintained.

The colorful village and the exquisite courtyard are perfect for taking photos in any corner! Very ethnic style!!!

Why do we always take pictures of this village? Because we are just passing by to have lunch!

If you like ethnic style, it is recommended that you stay here for a while and try to walk around the small corners. I believe you will find many surprises!

It's not strikingly similar, but almost a replica~ We always arrive late at night~ We still decide to stay in Jiaju Tibetan Village. After many years, there are already some expensive and stylish homestays, which are sold out early. So I try to find the local resident Ramu for help last time. Ram, who was still studying at a normal college at that time, is now an English teacher. We haven't been in touch for many years, but Ram still remembers me and enthusiastically helps us find other homes~ After 8 hours of walking and stopping at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night, we finally arrived at the Tibetan village. After 12 o'clock, there were still sporadic vehicles circling up the mountain in the dark. Stars, the host led us into their old house in the dark, where they lived, and quickly heated up dinner for us, just like many years ago~ The next morning, breakfast was prepared according to our schedule. Before leaving, thinking of the pears many years ago, the old lady helped us pick several apples, small and sweet. While helping us pack them, she threw some ripe and not-so-good fruits into the pig trough, saying with a smile that pigs love apples the most~ Even the weather was so similar, there was no sunshine, and the rain and fog were floating, sometimes wandering in the mountains, sometimes entwined on the mountainside~

The Tibetan village located halfway up the mountain is very quiet.

All I could hear was the flowing water of the Dadu River at the foot of the mountain.

Like the long and lingering love songs echoing in the mountains.

In the morning in Jiaju Tibetan Village, the only sound is the rushing water of Dadu River.

The roof of every Tibetan house is the perfect terrace.

Light branches and pray, face the mountains, and look out over the valley.

Jiarong Tibetans are all religious people and are friendly and harmonious.

The life of Tibetans is hard.

Their inner world is the richest.

After a simple breakfast,

We wandered around the village.

The scenery is just right, neither too early nor too late.

There are more "photographers" on the road.

There are more dirty tourist buses.

It seems out of tune with the light and shadow here.

At night, I stayed in Jiaju Tibetan Village in Danba County. The layout here is a bit like some small towns in Europe. Probably the tourist season has passed. At night, I was the only one walking by the dimly lit Tibetan village, and I seemed a little lonely. A yellow puppy of unknown species jumped out from nowhere, and accompanied me for an hour, sometimes in front of me and sometimes behind me. With her company, the village gradually became warm under the cold moonlight. I just want to walk slowly in this beautiful Tibetan village, without conceiving any style or photography structure, but just want to slowly experience the different experiences that the beautiful village brings to my body and mind. The hazy morning light in the distance awakened my body and my heart. The scenery without expectations may be more touching, whether it is the golden leaves on the roadside or the look back of the handsome lama.

Jiaju Tibetan Village is known as the most beautiful Tibetan village in China. Jiaju Tibetan Village is well-known and is located 8 kilometers north of Danba County. This is a scenic spot that requires a panoramic view to be beautiful. This morning we took the scenic area bus for 30 yuan/person to Jiaju Tibetan Village.

By Want to eat clay pot rice |

The new green and flowers in the mist make people wonder if they are in the steamy Jiangnan. However, the snow-capped mountains in the background bring you back to reality. This is the Tibetan plateau. After reading the introduction of the scenic spot, I learned that this place was also on the list of the most beautiful rural ancient towns in China. Now it seems that many of the rankings at that time were deliberately elevated to promote tourism in the western scenic spots; but the view from the observation deck is indeed memorable. It is better to stay in the village for one night. It is really difficult to fully appreciate the charm of the most beautiful ancient town by taking a quick tour of the Sichuan-Tibet line.

This attraction really needs to be discussed. The scenic spot is very close to Danba County, so most tourists who come to Danba County will choose to visit this attraction. When we drove close to the gate of the scenic spot, we were directed by someone who looked like a scenic spot administrator to a so-called visitor center, but it was actually a middle school. I saw many self-driving tourists were taken here to park, and then buy tickets to take the scenic spot bus to enter the park. We didn't think much about it and got on the scenic spot bus according to the instructions.

The bus will first drive along the mountain road for a while, and you can see the panoramic view of the Tibetan village from a distance through the car window. There are several viewing platforms after entering the scenic area, and tourists can choose any viewing platform to get off and visit. We planned to get off at the end of the bus and then walk back the same way. There were many tourists who had the same idea as us, so every time we arrived at a viewing platform, we would ask the driver if we had reached the end and when it would be appropriate to get off. The driver would say no. After passing the third viewing platform, the car started to go downhill, and we felt that the situation was not good. Sure enough, after sitting for about another half an hour, we actually arrived at the real tourist center!

The tourists were very confused. First, the driver took us out of the scenic spot without any warning. Second, the place we returned to was not at the same school as the one we boarded. We had to find the car by ourselves, which wasted all our time! The four of us discussed and decided to give up this rubbish attraction. We asked for a refund and were taken back to the school where we parked. After negotiating with the administrator, we finally got a refund and returned to the parking spot.

Jiaju Tibetan Village is known as the most beautiful Tibetan village in China. Jiaju Tibetan Village is well-known and is located 8 kilometers north of Danba County. This is a scenic spot that needs a panoramic view to be beautiful, that is, a panoramic view from a distance. Evan's evaluation of this attraction is actually average. As a paid attraction, he did not think that the Tibetan village itself is any different from other Tibetan villages in western Sichuan. However, it is indeed beautiful from a distance, like a small village far away from the hustle and bustle of the world. However, after driving into the Tibetan village, it feels so-so. But this still does not affect countless tourists who come here to stay in the village for a night and experience a different travel experience.

There are many unique watchtowers in Tibetan areas. In addition to Jiaju, there are other Tibetan villages such as Zhonglu. Jiaju is known as the most beautiful village in China! The entrance fee to Jiaju is 50 yuan per person. The village is relatively clean and tidy, and there are many viewing platforms. Overall, it is not bad, but the commercial atmosphere is a bit strong.

Since we are a regular passenger vehicle of Xinchuan-Tibet Transport Company, tourists often charter our passenger vehicles to go to Jiaju Tibetan Village, Dangling Moska, and Danba. The scenery of Danba is eclectic. Different styles show you different cultural customs. The scenery of Danba makes tourists from afar linger.

By Zheng Zizai |

As China's tourism resources become increasingly abundant, Jiaju seems ordinary, with foreign operators everywhere and the beauties of Danba are nowhere to be seen.

The ticket to Jiaju Tibetan Village is 50 yuan per ticket. You can stand on the observation deck on the top of the mountain to see the scattered villages. It is not far from Danba County. It is not particularly amazing, but it is not particularly bad. However, compared with the ticket price and the scenery, it is not worth the value.

The most distinctive feature of Jiaju Tibetan Village is its Tibetan village. The Tibetan village is built in the Dajin River Valley at the foot of the Kapama Peaks. The entire village is winding along the undulating mountains. On the hillside with a relative height difference of nearly a thousand meters, Tibetan-style buildings are scattered among the trees. They are scattered or densely packed, on the cliffs of the mountains, or among the green grass of the river dam. From time to time, the smoke and clouds are curling up, together with the spiritual valley, clear streams, and snow-capped peaks, presenting an idyllic picture scroll before our eyes.

Jiaju Tibetan Village presents different beauty in different seasons, among which autumn and spring are the most beautiful.

The beauty of spring lies in the pear blossoms. We came at the right time. In the distance, snow still hung on the Kapama peaks; but here, the pear blossoms of the Dajin River Valley were already in full bloom in front of and behind every house.

Compared to the vast Dajin River Valley, the pear blossoms here do not form a large area, but are like light clouds and white snowflakes, dotted in the valley, interspersed and wandering among the Tibetan houses with unique shapes and bright colors. Its beauty is even more lively.

The pure white pear blossoms, the red and white Tibetan houses, and the backdrop of blue sky, white clouds, green trees and green mountains make up Jiaju, a romantic and beautiful pear blossom village.

"Jiaju" means "hundreds of households" in Tibetan. The Tibetan village climbs up from the Dajin River Valley to the foot of the Kapama peaks. The whole village is winding along the undulating mountains. On the hillside with a relative height difference of nearly a thousand meters, Tibetan-style buildings are scattered among the green trees, together with the spiritual valley, clear streams and snow-capped peaks, presenting an idyllic picture to people.

Arrived at Jiaju Tibetan Village at 3:30, it was green and lush, where were the flowers? The hotel owner said it was snowed a few days ago and it disappeared?? Oh my god. The scenery along the provincial road is still pretty good!!

By ___巖 |

I went there before the Spring Festival. The off-season ticket price was 50% off. There was nothing much to see. It was just a village in a valley. The houses were quite distinctive, but they were all newly built and too commercial. Every household became a sleepover. In fact, there are similar Tibetan villages around, but this one is more concentrated and famous.

Jiaju Tibetan Village is worth a visit. After getting used to the steel and concrete of the city, this place gives people a fresh feeling. Most of the accommodation here are inns opened by local farmers themselves. They are clean and hygienic. The most important thing is that the meals cooked by the hosts are very delicious. They are all coarse grain home-cooked meals. The dishes are safe, fresh and healthy. Bathed in the warm breeze, I really want to live here permanently.

By Conner wants to travel |

As a tourist attraction, Jiaju Tibetan Village is surprisingly lively, but the view is relatively monotonous, basically you can only watch from a distance on the viewing platform built along the mountain road. The village is built on the hillside, and the mountain behind it is like a barrier, very majestic.

By China-TravelNote users |

Very bad, the scenery is very average, the free entrance fee is better.

Two big men stopped the car at the door and charged 50 per person. There was no ticket, only a receipt, and no other supporting facilities. I felt cheated.

Moreover, local cars are allowed to enter freely, even taxis, and only out-of-town cars are stopped and charged. Be careful!!!

But really don't go, the scenery is too ordinary. It's just an ordinary small village, the one I regret most among all the Miao and Dong villages I've visited!

By Mammoth |

With the hype in the past two years, this scenic spot has lost its original charm. The so-called most beautiful village is just a gimmick. What we really pursue is nothing more than the tranquility and nature. Oh, I wish I could have felt its original beauty in the past two years.

By Lango-Panda Holiday |

Jiaju Tibetan Village is a large group of Tibetan villages. In addition to being scenic, there are many things to experience, such as chatting with local residents or sitting in the inn, drinking some butter tea, or there are pear blossoms here in spring. Then there is the Beauty Valley of Danba. There are no beauties now, but there are still some old people.

The most beautiful mountain village in China is well-deserved! The houses looming in the mountains and the morning mist lingering on the top of the mountain make it seem like a fairyland!

By Yang Xiaofu is a female classmate with no story |

There are very few people in the village. If you didn't have a ticket, you probably wouldn't think it was a scenic spot. It's nice to find a watchtower, have a meal, and let the dogs take a walk and bask in the sun.

By Cedar |

The village is built on a hillside. You need to pay an entrance fee to enter the gate and stay inside. There are no street lights in the village, so it is very dark. Climb up to the rooftop platform and you can see the whole village. From the big river valley up to the foot of the peaks, on the winding hillside, Tibetan-style buildings are scattered among the colorful trees, like a colorful and peaceful landscape painting, very beautiful. This place was named the most beautiful village in China by the National Geographic Magazine of China, which is probably appropriate.

By Mr. Chow |

The ticket is 50 yuan. Since we live in the Tibetan village, we can be regarded as crossing the whole Tibetan village. Looking down from the residence, it does have certain characteristics, but compared with the most beautiful village selected by "National Geographic of China", it may be a little disappointed because of its big name and high expectations (of course, it may also be a different starting point). Compared with the Tibetan villages that were uniformly planned and adjusted in the later period, I prefer some old and dilapidated ones. Especially one of the watchtowers, located on a huge rock, is spectacular. However, it has been in disrepair for many years and can no longer be visited. It is said that it has a history of 400 years. The houses in the Tibetan village have basically been transformed into homestays for tourists. This commercialization has indeed brought improvements in the lives and materials of local people. However, whether it is really right is worth thinking about! I still like more original things.

Autumn seems to come a little later. The ripe corns drying on the roofs of the Kang-Tibetan buildings in the well-dried style herald the arrival of autumn.

By Brother Water |

It is worthy of the title of the most beautiful village in China, a paradise on earth!

By Pineapple |

I really want to complain about this "most beautiful village in China". It has no special features. There are just houses on the hills. They charge 50 yuan for admission. There is no ticket, just an invoice. That's fine. After all, scenic spots need income to maintain the operation of facilities. But! The toilet at the gate is full of garbage and sewage. What's going on? My friend said that after entering, he saw that it was so dirty that he had to wash his hands before coming out. I strongly recommend that you think twice and carefully before coming.

By China-TravelNote users |

Sitting around the campfire, eating roasted chicken, drinking barley wine, and looking at the starry sky, I experienced the cold and beautiful winter night in Tibet.

By China-TravelNote users |

It is a scenic spot without any characteristics. It is totally unnecessary to charge 50 yuan to enter and see it, because the Tibetan villages along the way in that area are of similar architectural style, and you can see it without buying tickets to enter Jiaju Tibetan Village. There is no need to stay in the homestay inside. The conditions of the homestay inside are very poor. There is no local folk characteristics, and the price is not low. It is better to live in Danba County. Especially the store called Jiaju Three Sisters where I stayed. The owner had a bad attitude. It was clearly a double standard room, but I was given a bed room similar to a youth hostel. The floor was all broken wooden boards, and the bedding in the room had a strange smell. I asked the owner to change the room. The female boss of this store was not only unwilling to change the room, but also sarcastically said that the people living in their rooms were much more noble than us. The conditions of other standard rooms were also very poor. There was only warm water for bathing, and there was no hair dryer, kettle, sanitary ware, or floor heating. The toilet lid was still broken, and it would leak water from the bottom when flushing, and it would smell bad. The toilet door is stuck in the middle and can't be opened or closed. The shower head has no nozzle, only a tube. In the middle of the night, there are fearless rats that come to rummage through things. Don't go there.

By Rabbit C Flavor |

Among the three viewing platforms, the first one is the lowest and the most unobstructed. The Tibetan villages are still sparse, but it is the densest and most uniform area. On the other side is the mountain range crossed by the Dadu River. The second viewing platform seems to be abandoned, and the pine trees block the view. Only the fence on the side can be stepped in, and the 2,000-year-old Suopo ancient watchtower can be seen. The third viewing platform is obstructed and a little closer. It can only be regarded as a tourist attraction on the western Sichuan line, and it cannot be compared with the scale after entering Tibet.

By Ji☆V's Blue |

If you have time, you can walk around slowly and have a look. The buildings are very distinctive, the scenery is pretty good, and there are many inns.

I joined the Daocheng Yading route of the team in August 2018. I had never heard of Jiaju Tibetan Village before. I came here in the morning to photograph the sunrise, and the scenery exceeded my expectations.

By Extremely poor |

Among the Tibetan villages, Jiaju Tibetan Village is the most developed, with a large photography base, viewing platform, plank road, and road signs. Hundreds of red, white, and gray Jiarong Tibetan houses are scattered on the high hillsides. Coupled with the different colors of the fields in the four seasons and the frequent fog in the mountains, it is indeed a good place for photography.

Tickets: 50 yuan (may be free in off-season)

Tips: You can choose to stay in a local traditional Tibetan house for one night. The traditional Tibetan house is still very interesting, with colorful furniture, unique appearance and structure, etc. By the way, you can rent a set of Tibetan costumes to take beautiful photos in the house.

By Anne |

This Tibetan village is said to have a history of a thousand years. Tibetans like to build their houses on the mountain, even if it is inconvenient to travel there. This is probably due to customs and beliefs. In some remote and backward villages, villagers need to walk two days on the mountain road to go to the market at the foot of the mountain.

Every household here has a garden-like house.

The courtyard is deep, quiet and leisurely.

The small garden in front of the door will keep you lingering for a long time.

By Yvette on the road |

The whole view of the Tibetan village can be seen from the viewing platform. You can see that Jiaju is located in the Jinchuan River Valley, built along the hillside, with Tibetan houses scattered in groups of three or five in the shade of green trees. If you look closely, you can also find the house we live in. The Tibetan house is covered with decorative paintings from the walls to the roof.

If the weather is good, you can see the beautiful starry sky and the Milky Way in Jiaju. The life in the Tibetan village may lack the colorfulness of the city, but it has more human touch than the city.

By FOR MYSELF。 |

We booked a room, but we had to pass the door to enter the hotel. We needed a ticket, which was 50 per person. We could only enter after buying the ticket. We didn't know this in advance.

By Nirvana |

Maybe it was because of the weather. To be honest, the scenery was disappointing.

However, the 50 tickets rumored on the Internet are not available.

There is a deserted ticket office at the gate

You can drive in at will. There are three viewing platforms inside, which can be searched on the map.

By Highland barley wine butter tea |

Finally, we all have to admit that Jiaju Tibetan Village is the most beautiful. It is a pear blossom spring that does not require "extremely narrow at first before people can pass through". People live with trees, sleep with their pillows on the mountains, and achieve harmony between man and nature.

I just hope that her pure soul can avoid the invasion of pseudo-small fresh homestays, African drums and Yiwu small commodities. I just hope that when I have the honor to visit her next time, she will still be as shy as she was at the beginning.

Very distinctive Tibetan architecture, this area is full of buildings of this style, looking at the exterior wall style and wood and stone decorations, it still has a bit of the flavor of old Tibetan architecture. The house is surrounded by misty mountains, which is quite beautiful.

By Reach out for the sunshine |

Built beside the mountain, the residents' houses are scattered in the mountain. As there are often clouds and fog in the mountains, the village is surrounded by clouds and fog in an instant, and it appears and disappears, giving a feeling of a paradise. However, because it is included in the scenic area, there are many tourists, and it is estimated that the local residents are also deeply troubled, as the original tranquility is broken by tourists from all over the world.

The Tibetan village houses are built in the jungle, intertwined with the green vegetation of the mountains, giving a feeling of being hidden in the city.

Fog rises in the mountains, covering the mountains like a girl's veil, and the stream at the foot of the mountain flows peacefully, further highlighting the tranquility of the artistic conception! When the clouds and mist gather, the whole mountain and field are covered, and it seems as if entering a fairyland, with clouds and mist puffing out!

I passed by Jiaju by accident on the way to Seda in mid-September. It was already evening, so I drove straight up. No one asked me to buy a ticket. Later I learned that it was free from the end of August. Jiaju has a good location. The morning in the mountains is quiet and comfortable. It should be beautiful in late autumn. The village is very quiet. I stayed in [Impression Danba] B&B for one night. The proprietress and the guys were very warm and kind. I had breakfast and dinner with the proprietress. The bed was very clean. There were several pear trees in the backyard, full of pears, but no one picked them. I picked a few to eat when I left the next day. They were juicy and sweet.

It is said to be the most beautiful village in China. There is no entrance fee, but it will be charged after one month, 50 yuan per ticket. We were lucky. This is the Dongnu Kingdom in history. There are the most beautiful villages, ancient watchtowers, beautiful women, and the brightest smiles. The village is halfway up the mountain. The road up is very steep, and I dare not look to the side of the road.

The Jiarong Tibetans live here. Compared with other Tibetans, their clothes are more beautiful. They are easier to communicate with because they are more sinicized. Jiarong Tibetans are good at singing and dancing. Their dances are passionate and full of enthusiasm of the snowy plateau. Their houses are also different from those in Lhasa. The Tibetan village under the cover of snow-capped mountains and white clouds is majestic and beautiful. Go to the commanding heights of the Tibetan village to overlook the whole view. The mountains are roaring and the sea of clouds is surging. It is necessary to put on a red headscarf and take a few photos.

Having lunch at a Tibetan village home, the colorful flowers and brightly colored two-story buildings complement each other to create a Tibetan beauty. Home-brewed highland barley wine paired with simple and hearty meals, bathing in the warm sunshine and autumn breeze, the fatigue from running around also dissipated in an instant.

There are three viewing platforms, No. 1 for looking up, No. 2 for looking from the side, and No. 3 for looking down. No. 1 viewing platform is the largest, No. 3 is the most convenient for parking, and No. 2 is more difficult to find. There is no clear sign. Just remember to go across from the Jiaju Police Station. You can see all three as you go down the mountain. If you don't have much time, No. 1 is enough.

Standing on the No. 1 Observation Deck of Jiaju and overlooking the valley, the turbulent Dajin River is like a giant python, winding and twisting into the distance under the Tibetan villages and ancient watchtowers.

On the left bank of the valley, there are dense Tibetan villages, climbing up the slope layer by layer, stretching all the way to the foot of Kapama Peak, following the undulating mountains.

In addition, Jiaju originally charged an entrance fee of 50 yuan, but later because the contractor only collected money and did not do any practical work or seek development, it was collectively boycotted by the villagers and now no entrance fee is charged.

We stayed in Jiaju Tibetan Village, which is known as the first of the "Six Most Beautiful Ancient Villages in China". We chose the Tibetan Village on the No. 1 Observation Deck, which is backed by green mountains and faces the Dajin River Valley extending to the distance below the mountains. The whole picture of Jiaju Tibetan Village can be seen in the glass room on the third floor. All 149 Tibetan villages were built with the most primitive materials and the most primitive technology, and are scattered in the Cangshan Mountains, appearing and disappearing under the flexible thin clouds.

Because the viewing platform was not far from where I lived, I took my friend there to wait. We walked on the deserted road, and the smell of cow dung in the early morning made us feel refreshed (?). Although the sunrise on a cloudy day was not spectacular, the tranquility of watching the clouds and mountains quietly changing colors in the distance made me miss it a little bit.

An ancient village nestled in the mountains and beside the water. Flowers at the doorsteps of every house, cornfields everywhere, and all kinds of fruit trees, plums, pears, walnuts, etc., make for a particularly cozy and pleasant village. I think I can stay here for a day and wander around.

There is no resistance to this kind of house located in the mountains! If you want to experience the style of a famous homestay, you can sleep in a local inn for a night, and don’t miss the next morning! When there is fog, you will feel as if you are on another beautiful planet!

Danba Jiaju Tibetan Village was rated first among the "Six Most Beautiful Villages in China" in the "National Geographic China" beauty pageant. I have wanted to visit it for a long time.

Looking at these towering towers from a distance is quite shocking.

The wooden beams of the women's watchtower are exposed outside and will turn black over time, so there are black marks on the building. The wooden beams of the men's watchtower are inside and not exposed, so there are no marks.

It would take days and nights to study the architecture and function of ancient towers, and we can only learn some knowledge from limited materials. For example, it is not surprising that each tower has its own name, but it is actually divided by gender, mainly by the position of the wooden beams.

There are also ancient watchtowers built with mud and stones, with beautiful appearance and solid walls. Most of the ancient watchtowers are connected with residential buildings, and some are built alone on flat land or in valleys. The appearance of the ancient watchtowers is generally a high square column: there are four corners, five corners, eight corners, and a few are thirteen corners. The height is generally not less than 10 meters, mostly around 30 meters, and the highest can reach 50 to 60 meters. How amazing is the blood, sweat and wisdom of the ancient people.

The mountains here are rolling and the forests are endless. It is a little-known paradise hidden deep in the mountains. Jiaju Tibetan Village is the most concentrated Tibetan village in this area.

I spent a whole day here! It's really a Tibetan village with thousands of households! The Tibetans are very enthusiastic! It's beautiful here, especially quiet during the day, and the locals are very simple! It's lively at night! It's surrounded by mountains and rivers, and the air is fresh! It's also warm during the day, as if it's another world. At the same time, Deyading is ready to enter winter, but Jiaju in Danba is still a warm autumn!

Jiaju Tibetan Village is a Tibetan village where many families live. The admission fee used to be 50 per person, but now it is free and you can still visit.

The house in Jiaju is really unique. When I went there, it was just the time when the small cherries were ripe. The cherries were picked at hand, pure and natural, and they were really delicious. The weather was not good that day, mostly cloudy, and in this season, the grass on the grassland had not turned green, and there were no wild flowers blooming. Forget the dark grassland.

It is said that pear blossoms in spring are the most beautiful in the year.

We chose to stay in a hotel because there were many of us. We could also choose to stay in a Tibetan home, but the accommodation conditions here were not very good, and slippers and toiletries were not provided. The Tibetans in the Tibetan village were very enthusiastic and would sing and dance with tourists in the yard at night.

Before coming here, I actually didn’t know about this place. When I got off the bus, my friends were very excited. They heard from the “old cadre” that this was a place he had seen on a postcard when he was a child. He had always wanted to see it with his own eyes. It turned out that this was a famous place…

This is one of the most beautiful villages. The traditional houses of Jiarong Tibetans are dotted in the mountains and forests like a picture scroll. Living here, you feel like a fairy living in seclusion from the world.

Cost: 50 yuan/person

To be honest, in order to see the village where Tibetans live, the cost is really not worth it. Maybe it was the off-season, and I didn't go into the house to visit and experience butter tea, etc. I didn't feel the enthusiasm of the Tibetans~~ So I don't recommend it!

2018/06/08 Friday was sunny. We got up early and left the hotel to walk to the No. 1 viewing platform. It rained heavily last night but stopped this morning. There were many floating clouds in the sky, but there were still blue sky and white clouds in some parts. The village was very quiet in the morning. We strolled in the fresh air in the embrace of the lush jungle. After seeing the whole picture of Jiaju Tibetan Village at the No. 1 viewing platform, we walked along the road to the No. 3 viewing platform to enjoy the scenery of this so-called most beautiful village from a high altitude. In fact, there are many villages to roam here, and we feel that we should stay one more day. The floating clouds piled up, and it seemed impossible to watch the sunrise on the mountain, so we returned to the hotel along the steps. Each house we saw along the way had its own characteristics.

It is a characteristic Tibetan village. We stayed here that night, and had a special meal and a bonfire party. The air was so fresh, it can't be compared with the city.

There are three viewing platforms in Jiaju Tibetan Village. We went to the first one. For thousands of years, the local dwellings here have maintained the traditional architectural style and strong ethnic characteristics, which is not easy.

Although I didn't catch the flower season, I was still shocked to see hundreds of houses built on the mountainside and blending into the natural environment in an orderly manner.

From a distance, on the mountainside full of spiritual energy, among the emerald green grass and trees, the terraced fields and Tibetan dwellings hidden in the deep forests shine like white Hada in the sun. With the occasional gurgling stream, a dynamic and wonderful picture is presented in front of us. I personally think that the angle of viewing platform 1 is not bad, and you can take pictures of mountains, rivers, and scattered dwellings.

Looking out from afar, the village is under the blue sky and white clouds, floating between the mortal world and heaven, like a fairyland. So far, my long-cherished wish has finally come true.

There are many Tibetan villages like this in the mountains. There are 3 shower rooms in the village, all of which are quite clean. It is fun to have 14 people fight for a shower room at night. It is still quite cold in the mountains at night. I couldn't stand looking at the stars outside for a while, so I went back to the room to sleep early.
