Liujiang Town is located in Hongya County, more than 100 kilometers away from Chengdu, on the way to Wawu Mountain National Forest Park. The ancient town has a long history. It was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty and now retains the scenes of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the mountains of Wawu Mountain, Huaxi River surrounds the ancient town stilt houses with unique southern Sichuan ancient residential style, surrounded by green mountains. Before liberation, this was the jurisdiction of several large families. Each family had its own special features, and the locals also gave them easy-to-remember names, such as Whose House, Whose Millet, etc. Several large families formed the foundation of Liujiang Town. These single mansions and beautiful mountains and waters are almost perfectly combined together, and the streets built by the water form a vivid landscape painting. Important attractions include Zeng Family Courtyard, Shiban Old Street, etc. Because it is close to the river, the fish here is also very delicious, you must try it.

Liujiang Ancient Town is located on both sides of Liujiang River, a tributary of Huaxi River, 35 kilometers southwest of Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. It was historically called "Mingyue Town" and was first built in the 10th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1140). In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed "Liujiangchang" because the Liu and Jiang clans in the town jointly built a long stone street. In 1780, it was named "Liujiangchang". It has been abandoned and revived many times in successive dynasties. With a history of more than 800 years, it is one of the top ten ancient towns in Sichuan. Liujiang Ancient Town has not been overdeveloped, and it still retains its ancient style and charm. You need to calm down and savor it slowly when visiting the ancient town.
If Gubei Water Town is a modern girl, then Liujiang Ancient Town must be a classical beauty with a pipa in her arms and her face half covered. Walking on the old streets of the ancient town, time seems to have stood still... and your heart is as calm as still water!
Because November is the off-season and there are not many tourists. Many inns and restaurants are closed!
Walking in the thousand-year-old town...feeling a different atmosphere! The air here is intriguing~all with different smells! The stilt houses...gravity dams...old houses from the Qing Dynasty...ancient banyan trees...millennium stone steps...seem to be telling a story of a time travel back in time! I feel inexplicably moved in my heart. If time is not tight, I really want to stay for a few days, play in the river, have a cup of coffee in the bar and be in a daze for an afternoon...just for this moment of tranquility!
Seeing people in the ancient town playing mahjong leisurely ~ I really want to stay here! Next time I come, I must stay here for a few nights! !
The ancient town is not big, but there are beautiful views everywhere! It feels like a postcard no matter how you take photos, and there is no strong commercial atmosphere.
Liujiang Ancient Town is located on both sides of Liujiang River, a tributary of Huaxi River, 35 kilometers southwest of Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. It was renamed "Liujiang Town" because the Liu and Jiang clans in the town jointly built a long stone street. It has been abandoned and rebuilt many times in the past dynasties. Liujiang is called "Smoke and Rain Liujiang", which is not felt during the day. At night, when it drizzles, sitting on the second floor of Wangjiang Inn, listening to the rain and looking at the river in the dim lights, it seems to have found the painting meaning of "Smoke and Rain Liujiang".
Liujiang Ancient Town is located on both sides of Liujiang River, a tributary of Huaxi River, southwest of Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. It was historically called "Mingyue Town". It was built in the tenth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1140), with a history of more than 800 years. It is one of the ten ancient towns in Sichuan. There are stilt houses with western Sichuan style, Zengjiayuan, a combination of Chinese and Western styles, a dock for visiting ancient sites and looking for leisurely water, an ancient plank road along the river, an old street with century-old houses, as well as the Holy Mother Mountain Stele Forest, the world's largest sleeping Guanyin, 108 thousand-year-old trees and other special landscapes.
Our tour of the ancient town starts from Zengjiayuan, and we travel along both sides of the Liujiang River and walk to the Misty Liujiang Wooden Bridge to cross the river. There is an old street and stilt houses on the riverside. The essence of Liujiang Ancient Town is probably in this section.
Pros: Cool, maybe it has something to do with the weather. The town is clean, including the toilet, which is much better than many scenic spots and reaches business standards. There are photo spots. You can taste sweet-skinned duck and pepper duck. The first one at the intersection (note that the sign is not called the first one, it is difficult to pronounce) is freshly made and delicious.
Content: I am not very interested in the cultural content, you can check the attractions. It is ordinary ~ not special
Disadvantages: None found yet. The location is a bit off, a long way from the highway.
Suggestion: It is a good idea to take a side trip or stay for a few days to escape the heat. If you have come from afar and have a tight schedule, there is no need to make a trip.
During the May Day holiday, eight families visited Liujiang Ancient Town on their way back from vacation at Wawu Mountain and Yanu Lake. The streets of the ancient town were full of delicious snacks and the scenery was beautiful.
The water level in Liujiang Ancient Town rose in June, and everyone bought Sichuan pepper duck!
It is a well-developed ancient town with beautiful scenery. It has many facilities, hotels and restaurants, with prices ranging from high to low, and convenient transportation.
The water is too yellow in summer, and I think it is most beautiful in spring. But it is still very comfortable for children to play in the water.
A good place to escape the heat and play in the water in summer, beer and barbecue at night are very relaxing. Two hours is enough for a visit. Guangming Temple is under renovation.
Give a thumbs up to Liujiang Ancient Town and wish it will become better and better!
A beautiful place. It is recommended to stay here for a night. It feels comfortable.
It is a famous ancient town around Chengdu. It is suitable for playing in the water in summer! After all, it is more than 2 hours' drive from Chengdu. It is relatively simple to visit alone, lacking the characteristics that make people linger!
It's a very distinctive ancient town, well worth a visit.
Summer resort, looking back at the desolate place, returning, neither windy nor rainy, neither clear nor cloudy.
I went there during the Spring Festival. There were few people in the off-season, but it was quiet.
The scenery is nice and it is a good place to rest and recuperate, but it is sparsely populated and remote.

Liujiang River is called "Smoke and Rain Liujiang River", which you can't feel during the day. At night, when it drizzles, sitting on the second floor of Wangjiang Inn, listening to the rain and looking at the river in the dim lights, it seems that you have found the artistic conception of "Smoke and Rain Liujiang River".
Old Master: Past events over a thousand years, beautiful water and green mountains are rare 1⃣️8⃣️》--Hongya Liujiang Ancient Town 16·6 "Picking Mulberry Leaves, Rippling Waves" The misty Liujiang River roars, towering and winding. The long embankment is clear and misty. The ripples are seductive. The wind blows and the lanterns are refreshing. The ancient trees are rare. The heart is so surging that I don't want to go home! October 28, Dingyou Year
The ancient town is located at the northeast foot of Mount Emei. It is a place suitable for relaxation and seeking tranquility. It has stilt houses, bluestone slabs, gurgling water, and pictures that look like paintings. It is very nice.
Yunnan Lijiang, Sichuan Liujiang! Liujiang is not very commercial now, so go there now.
A very nice town along the river, quaint and quiet, with great barbecue.
Very leisurely and comfortable. I took a bus from Meishan, and it seems that I have to change buses halfway. The ancient town is free, and some scenic spots are charged separately
Misty Liujiang River, just take a photo and it will be a landscape painting!
After the Yinchanggou was built, there are a lot more people here.
It is really just an ordinary ancient town, and it is very hot in summer. The climate is not as good as Shangli.
In addition to the scenery that most ancient towns have, there are also water entertainment projects suitable for children, most of which are free. There are many delicious foods, and it is suitable to buy a few bottles of pepper oil to take home.
Overall it's good, with mountains, water and scenery. I feel the public service features are not outstanding, but the others are good.
I went there in August 2016, which was the peak season. The price of a B&B that normally costs 80 per night increased to 280, and the environment was very average.
The scenic spot feels that this is a small ancient town with a strong commercial atmosphere.
There is a river in the center of the ancient town, which is suitable for playing in the water. At night, there are barbecue stalls and bars on both sides of the river, which is suitable for friends to relax together.
But to be honest, I really think there is nothing fun about it. It is a very ordinary attraction and I don’t recommend it.
For someone who doesn't like ancient towns (generally, ancient towns are too commercial), Liujiang Ancient Town is indeed an unexpected surprise! The tourist area and the commercial area are separated in an orderly manner! They are combined with each other without affecting each other! The river water is very clear, and there are fewer people in the off-season, but the scenery is good, especially suitable for people who like quietness! It is recommended to stay there for one night! You can play with Leshan Emei! Planning a good itinerary is an important prerequisite for the quality of your trip!
There is a lot to eat. It is very good to go there in summer because you can play in the water, which is pretty good.
It's worth a visit. The scenery is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. . l
Suitable for leisure travel, those who like to travel on a budget should avoid going there on weekends.
Liujiang Ancient Town is picturesque... There are cicada sounds everywhere... It doesn't seem noisy at all~ We visited Zengjiayuan... Sleeping Guanyin... and ate a lot of delicious food, including duck, ice jelly, and pepper chicken. The best one is Yang Ya's sweet-skinned duck. They have been making it for decades. The duck meat is very good. We each took one home. The boss lady also invited us to taste a few duck feet for free~ We will come again next time
I had heard about the misty Liujiang River. It rained heavily a few days before departure, so I thought I could see the misty Liujiang River. But it was a sunny day when I went there, which was suitable for playing in the water, cooling off and taking photos. There were also many snacks on the streets of the ancient town, which was absolutely unforgettable!
Nothing more to say, Spring Flowers\Misty Rain\Liu Jiangnan!
The natural scenery is picturesque and the ancient town has its own characteristics. Bamboo shoots, native chicken and barbecue are super delicious.
I think Liujiang Ancient Town is a relatively well-developed ancient town. It has a harmonious combination of natural and cultural landscapes, many scenic spots, profound cultural heritage, a large number of delicious foods, inexpensive accommodation, and convenient transportation. It is a very good choice for weekend or short vacation trips.
It's a very small ancient town, it's more convenient to drive there
Liujiang Ancient Town is built along the river, with ancient charm and many large banyan trees in the town.
I often hear friends say that Liujiang Ancient Town is worth a visit. The local characteristics are very retro, with beautiful mountains and clear waters, and there are many snacks to eat. There are also quite a lot of wild things, and there are waterfalls. I am a person who rarely travels. That time, my friend was bored and said to drive to Liujiang Ancient Town to play, so I accompanied him. Anyway, I have a lot of time to take care of this child. I saw a lot of scenery on the way. It is indeed beautiful, with good greening and many beautiful big trees. There are many chickens, ducks and geese along the way. My sister likes it very much. I am very happy. There are laughter all the way. When we arrived at the ancient town, it was really old and retro. The locals were very enthusiastic. When we ate tofu brain, they all teased my sister and played with my sister. We also ate the old bacon. The bacon there was very fragrant. We also took some home. However, we went there in winter, so we saw the ancient trees and went to the old street. It was a pity that we couldn’t go to play with the small waterfall over there. We can go in the water to play in summer. The scenery is really beautiful. The place is not very big. We played for a while. We all went home in the afternoon. It’s been a long time since we went to play in the water in summer.
To get to Liujiang Ancient Town, get off Dongyue Road on G93, then take Hongwa Road, about 16 kilometers. The road is not wide, but the road condition is good. The ancient town is very small, there is nothing to see in the town, it is a bit messy. There is a small river flowing by (a tributary of Qingyi River). It is just quieter at night and the air is better.
The misty Liujiang River is picturesque. A person by the river with a cup of tea can spend an afternoon there! A rare comfort and ease
Places with mountains and water always make people happy. Liujiang Ancient Town is such a lovely place.
I found that here, many beautiful scenes, both positive and negative, are so attractive.
There is a signpost in Liujiang Ancient Town pointing to Houjia Dazhai. The so-called Houjia Dazhai refers to the eighteen households with the surname Hou. Each family is considered a village, with food, drink and shelter, and you can enjoy the scenery. The scenery of each village is different.
Liujiang Ancient Town is a quaint town surrounded by beautiful mountains and clear waters. It is known as "Liujiang in the mist, the hometown of elegant women".
It is said to have been built in the late Qing Dynasty or the early Republic of China, but a closer look shows that it is made of modern building materials and is obviously recently built. The style of the ancient town is still reflected in the old streets, bluestone roads, earthen tile houses, stilt houses along the river, local snacks, landscapes and simple folk customs.
It's a very beautiful ancient town. There are minibuses running from Hongya to here every day. Here you can play in the water, eat original barbecue, stroll around the ancient town, and drink brown sugar flavored ice jelly. It's super great!
After lunch, we strolled along the river bank in the old street. Maybe it was because the season had passed and it was not the weekend, so there were not many people in the scenic area, but this was exactly the effect we wanted.
Liujiang Ancient Town was built in the tenth year of the Southern Song Dynasty, with a history of more than 800 years. It is one of the top ten ancient towns in Sichuan.
Liujiang Ancient Town is located in Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. Similar to most ancient towns, there is a river called "Jiang" with various bars, inns and restaurants on both sides of the river. However, the difference here is that there is no entrance fee! Many county residents also come here to play in the water, walk and drink tea.
Liujiang Ancient Town was built in the Southern Song Dynasty. The buildings separated from the modern buildings by a river are those from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. One after another, simple wooden houses and stilt houses are leaning against the ancient banyan trees with intertwined branches and roots. At the end of the half street of wooden houses, there is a long stone street connected. Without a single word, the vicissitudes of the street are fully displayed. Liujiang is really a place suitable for tourists to visit. The beautiful mountains, waters and scenery, the ancient streets and old houses plus the delicious food have attracted countless people who love fun and food from all over the world. In fact, the peak season here is midsummer. Tourists who come here for sightseeing, leisure and summer vacation will remember that the ancient town is packed. It is no exaggeration to say that it is a torture to come here during the peak tourist season. It is very inconvenient to eat, stay and travel. More importantly, your good mood will be greatly reduced. It is recommended that you must go here in the off-season.
The beautiful Liujiang is worthy of its reputation. It is an ancient town that has been thoroughly built and matured. You know, it has all the elements that an ancient town should have, and one ancient town after another is similar to another.
It is a good place for playing in the water and escaping the heat in summer. Although the ancient town is not big, it has all the necessary entertainment facilities. You can find a barbecue place to eat some barbecue and drink some wine in the evening, which is very comfortable.
Liujiang Ancient Town is very small. Like other ancient towns in Sichuan, it is also built on the riverside. Its beauty lies in the fact that there are no tourist groups, commercialization is not so serious, and you can still experience the leisurely slow life.
Liujiang is not big, the cost is not high, the temperature is suitable, the air is fresh, and the view is full of green. I know that those who read the guide should read the practical information first, so the pictures and sensationalism will come later.
Sichuanese people must understand the words "ba shi" and "yi yi". If you have a rare half-day of leisure in your life, you should go to these places to breathe fresh air, play in the water, and take pictures. I hope every tourist can find the meaning of travel.
I went there after the National Day. There were very few people. The small bridges, flowing water and stone pavement gave me a sense of the misty Jiangnan area. I spent a very unforgettable night there.

The Gao Temple is shrouded in mist and rain, and the Liujiang River is engulfed in mist and rain.
Yesterday's old street stone pavement traces the vicissitudes of life and sees the stone field
Both sides of the river are lined with inns and shops of all sizes. Because the Mid-Autumn Festival has passed, the temperature is relatively low. Although it is the weekend, there are very few people in the ancient town. We walked along the river, letting the moist and fresh air penetrate our hearts and minds, making us feel refreshed. We wanted to enjoy the quietness, but the loud karaoke singing coming from Xinzhou Island was very inconsistent with the atmosphere of this ancient town, which was a great pity.
Liujiang is located in Hongya County, Meishan, Sichuan, 30+km away from Hongya. There are buses from Chengdu Xinnanmen to Hongya. It is recommended that you stay in Hongya for one night. There are too many things to eat in Hongya, and they are very delicious. I especially recommend the hot pot pig's trotters in Yafeng Community, which are large in portion, affordable in price, and delicious in taste.
Liujiang Ancient Town is a pretty nice place. The only regret is that it is a bit far away. It has picturesque scenery and is a great place for summer leisure. Playing in the water here, adults will be just like children, returning to their childhood with water guns and hitting each other with a "falling flower and running water". That level of happiness is enough to affect us who are watching.
The scenic spot Liujiang is right by the river, and the new Liujiang Town is on the shore, which is just an ordinary Chinese town without any characteristics. This so-called ancient town is renovated at first glance. The real original ancient town cannot be so new, but it is renovated with characteristics and looks very beautiful.
This is an ancient town that Hongya County has focused on building. It is not too big, next to the river, and well renovated. The public transportation is more convenient than Gaomiao and Caoyutan.

Liujiang Ancient Town was first built in the 10th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1140 AD) and has a history of nearly 900 years.
Liujiang Ancient Town was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty, with a history of more than 800 years. It is one of the top ten ancient towns in Sichuan. It is 150 kilometers away from Chengdu, 50 kilometers from Wawu Mountain, and 36 kilometers from Mount Emei. The earliest name was quite poetic and picturesque - Mingyue Town. In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, because the two surnames Liu and Jiang in the market town jointly built a long stone street in the ancient town, it was renamed - Liujiang Market. In 1870, "Jiang" was changed to "Jiang" and it was named Liujiang Market. The old buildings here are buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Today, the quaint wooden houses and stilt houses in Liujiang are leaning against the ancient banyan trees with intertwined roots and branches. At the end of the half street of wooden houses, there is a long stone street connected. There is no word, showing the vicissitudes of the street.
We slowly started to go down the mountain. The scenery along the way was charming and the air was really good.
We walked along the ancient street, stopping to taste the local delicacies, such as roasted corn and Wansui jelly.
The Liujiang River is very quiet in the early morning. The winding paths, the bluestone slabs, and the harmonious families convey a sense of leisure and comfort. The philosophy of life can be read in the quiet valley. The changes and constants in the countryside are exactly the oriental wisdom of Taoism advocating the unity of man and nature and learning from nature! The harmony and beauty of the Liujiang River cannot be compared or imitated. Any false and clever random modification will destroy this harmonious symbiotic environment and will definitely backfire and be laughed at by future generations. The beauty of the Liujiang River is a compliment from nature and a fragrance that blends nature with people!
Arrived at Liujiang at 8:50 pm and stayed there. After completing the plan of "running to Liujiang at night", I looked at the night view on the ancient street and savored the night of Liujiang. (I didn't savor anything. The shops only turned on the lights but were not open for business. I was sweating! I had to go back to the hotel to sleep.) The winding path, the bluestone slabs, the harmonious people, Liujiang conveys a kind of leisure and comfort. The philosophy of life is read in the quiet valley. The changes and constants in the countryside are exactly the unity of man and nature advocated by Taoism, and the oriental wisdom of learning from nature! The harmony and beauty of Liujiang cannot be compared or imitated. Any false and clever random modification is an act of destroying this harmonious symbiotic environment, and it will definitely backfire and be laughed at by future generations. The beauty of Liujiang is a compliment from nature, a fragrance of the integration of nature and people!
The people of Liujiang are leisurely, peaceful small town life, and the rich water granary make people believe that life comes from nature. The wild vegetables picked from the mountains in the morning in the backpack still exude the simple fragrance of soil. This is the way of Tao that people live in nature and are born in nature. Tao gives birth to all things, and all things return to Tai Chi. Take from nature and return to nature.
The water of Liujiang River is calm, gentle, fresh and pleasant. It nurtures the villagers on both sides of the river and nourishes all living things within a hundred miles. It is majestic and beautiful, just like the mother of thousands of Chinese people, with deep tenderness in her love.
We have visited all the ancient towns around Chengdu (we really walked there, thanks to our strong short legs), and this time we will share the Liujiang Ancient Town in Hongya, Sichuan.
Two days of weekend, Meishan Liujiang Ancient Town, change the air, change the mood
Although it has been renovated and processed, it is generally natural and simple, making people feel comfortable and peaceful.
When I went to Liujiang with my colleagues, it was just drizzling at first, but later, you could see the sea in Chengdu!!! This place is beautiful and very suitable for a short stay.
Liujiang is one of the ten ancient towns in Sichuan, 150 kilometers away from Chengdu, 50 kilometers away from Wawu Mountain, and 36 kilometers away from Mount Emei. Here, the mountains are green and the water is clean. There is no prosperity of big cities, but there is no hustle and bustle; there is no convenient transportation, so there is no turbid air; there are no dazzling array of goods, and there is much less impetuousness of material desires. Breathing this fresh air and appreciating the natural beauty of the countryside, the mood is extremely refreshing. Nowadays, people in the city stay in the world of steel and concrete all day long, and have fewer opportunities to get close to nature. If you have free time, you should be nice to yourself and enjoy nature.
Zeng Family Courtyard is truly ancient. If you don’t go there, you won’t know what grandeur, status, and history mean.
Here is a very important tip. Liujiang-Gaomiao-Wawu Mountain is on the same line and can be reached by bus. However, there are only two buses from Gaomiao to Wawu Mountain every day, in the morning and afternoon. So if you want to go to Wawu Mountain and you can't take the bus at Gaomiao, you can take the bus back to Zhaohe. Then Zhaohe has buses that depart in turn to Wawu Mountain. Wawu Mountain and Emei Mountain are on the same line, so you can go from Emei Mountain to Gaomiao-Wawu Mountain.
The beautiful scenery of Liujiang Ancient Town really moved me.
It's just a pity that due to some reasons, I couldn't slow down and take a closer look at the scenery in the ancient town and just rushed through it.
This place is suitable for lovers, you and I love each other, just like the mountains and rivers here, always accompanying each other. My dear, the best years are about to pass, and I regret that I haven't met you yet. If I meet you one day in the future, I will definitely take you to Liujiang to listen to my thoughts about you.
The river that Liujiang Town is adjacent to is not called Liujiang, but Huaxi River and Yangliu River. The two rivers converge in Liujiang Town. There is a small island in Yangcun River. It used to be a lawn, but around 1988, it was gradually turned into a cultural center by the residents on the street. There are houses hidden in the shade of green trees on the island, which is quite poetic.
Arriving at Liujiang Ancient Town, the sky was gradually turning dusk. After tasting the local specialty black pepper beef, we walked back and forth along the banks of Liujiang River. After a day of hustle and bustle, the ancient town seemed even more peaceful at night. People who had worked hard all day were laughing by the stream, or sitting together sucking on the fried snails fished out of the stream. Everyone lived in harmony, lived and worked in peace and contentment, and shared this gift from nature.
The air after the rain is especially fresh and refreshing. Living in seclusion in the mountains gives you a special feeling of "after the rain in the empty mountains, the weather turns to autumn late in the evening". If you can stay here for a few days, you can get rid of the pressure of work and forget the troubles of life. I think this is the best paradise!
