Two days were arranged for Mount Emei. On the first day, we rested at the foot of Mount Emei and went to Baoguo Temple and Fuhu Temple at the foot of the mountain. The temples were built on the mountain. Climbing the mountain gave us a sense of worship. The Qianren Cave near the Chunyang Temple of Mount Emei is said to be the place where Lü Chunyang became an immortal. Buddhism was introduced to Mount Emei in the Jin Dynasty. During the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, the last Taoist temple on the mountain, Chunyang Temple, was also rebuilt by monks, and Mount Emei was finally unified as a Buddhist world. The pattern of the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea can still be seen on the railing carvings of the Baoguo Temple, which seems to be a real monument. The scenery in the mountains is beautiful and the air is fresh. Going down the mountain and walking on the mountain road is very suitable for aerobic exercise.

Mount Emei is located near the mysterious 30 degrees north latitude, dominating the southwestern part of the Sichuan Basin. With its “majesty, beauty, mystery, wonder and spirituality” and profound Buddhist culture, it has become a world natural and cultural dual heritage.



Mount Emei actually consists of four mountains: Da'e, Er'e, San'e, and Si'e; but the Mount Emei people often refer to is mainly Da'e. The mountain stretches from north to south, stretching 23 kilometers, with an area of ​​about 115 square kilometers. The highest peak, Wanfoding, is 3,099 meters above sea level, while the plain area below the mountain is only 400 meters above sea level, with a relative height difference of more than 2,600 meters, far exceeding the long-renowned Five Sacred Mountains and many other domestic tourist mountains such as Huangshan.



Mount Emei is not only rich in natural heritage, but also known as the "Plant Kingdom", "Animal Paradise" and "Geological Museum", and praised as "Emei is the most beautiful in the world". It also has a profound cultural heritage and is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. It is famous for worshipping Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Currently, with Buddhist culture as the core, there are about 300 monks and nuns in the mountain, and nearly 30 temples of various sizes. Famous temples include Baoguo Temple, Fuhu Temple, Wannian Temple, Qingyin Pavilion, Huazang Temple, etc.



It is precisely because of this mystery, richness and depth that Mount Emei is "higher than the Five Mountains and the most beautiful among the Nine Provinces", and that there is the eternal poem "Emei is the leader of mountains; Samantabhadra is the eldest son of Buddha", which makes people feel leisurely and fascinated.

Because we didn't have time to hike up the mountain to watch the sunrise at the Golden Summit, we could only visit Mount Emei in one day. This was my first time in Mount Emei. Although it was possible to go to Mount Emei in one day, it was still not cost-effective because we were in a hurry. The Mount Emei tickets, sightseeing bus tickets, and cable car tickets were not cheap in total. It was the most expensive attraction in Chengdu in three days.

On the way up the mountain, the ice and snow froze the road, making it easy to fall. There were vendors selling crampons everywhere.

I saw the blue sky and snow-covered mountains in the distance. Compared with Leidongping, the white snow, green leaves and bright sunshine on the mountain were more attractive.

With the sunshine, taking pictures was different and the weather didn't seem so cold. There were several vendors selling hot food along the street. We bought a big piece of cured pork ribs, which had big chunks of meat and tasted great. It cost twenty yuan each.

We walked and stopped along the way to see the scenery, and soon we saw the huge Buddha statue on the Golden Summit. We walked around and saw the scenery, and then we could take the cable car back.

Emei Mountain is beautiful in all seasons, but even more amazing in winter. In the world of snow, different routes offer different views. Last year, I saw snow mainly from zero kilometer to Leidongping, which was already beautiful. This year, I took the cable car section, but there was a new view, with flying snow and white mountains, "thousands of pear trees in bloom", "flying flowers flying through the trees in the courtyard", and the silver-clad forests were better than thousands of colors.

Although it is not easy to hike the whole way up the mountain, you can overlook the world from the top of Mount Eshan. The snow-covered peaks of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the west are magnificent, the Qingyi River, Dadu River and Minjiang River in the east are winding and circling, and there are the Chengdu Plain in the north and the Liangshan Mountains in the south. You can see the picturesque mountains and rivers, the beautiful land, and the peaks near and far are all at your feet. What's more rare is that this is also a wonderful place to watch the sunrise, the sea of ​​clouds, the holy lights, and the Buddha's light.

The bus drove into the passenger station, and there were scenic area buses at the passenger station that drove directly to various stations on the mountain. However, I wanted to hike up and start from the foot of the mountain.

I had lunch first, and then set off towards the Golden Summit. In the square of this pavilion, there were many people carrying sliders, claiming that if I sat on their chairs, I could enter the scenic area for free, and said that I had taken the wrong road. Later, I found out that they were all lying to me. As for where they would carry people, I didn’t know, but it was definitely not possible to enter the scenic area for free, so you can’t trust anyone who provides services before the ticket gate of the scenic area, otherwise you have to be prepared to be ripped off.

Those who want to climb the mountain will just stroll around at the foot of the mountain and then enter the core scenic area the next day. During the off-season, very few people actually hike to the Golden Summit from Baoguo Temple.

I saw in the guide that Leiyin Temple sells tickets, but when I got there, there were no tickets. However, there were people inside, so I didn't ask much, thinking there would be a ticket office behind. I didn't know that I met an inspector when I was almost at Qingyin Pavilion. After I paid for the ticket, I told me that there were many places to check tickets behind, but I didn't see anyone checking tickets again. I wanted to buy a ticket, but I didn't find a ticket office along the way. Did I take a wild road? If you don't want a paper ticket, you can buy tickets online. Just swipe your ID card, which is valid for 2 days.

In order to save time, we almost didn't visit the temples we passed by. The house of Chunyang Temple is a wooden structure, and the eaves and roof are covered with moss, giving it an antique feeling. It must have looked like this even in ancient times.

The mountain roads are generally flat. After climbing for a while, you can walk along a flat road around the mountainside. In the low mountain areas, you have to cross small hills and go around the central area. It is also an adaptation stage for climbers.

Although there is no unique scenery, walking on this mountain road with few tourists does not make you feel tired, and breathing the fresh air also makes you feel happy.

The door of Zhongfeng Temple was locked. I walked along the direction of Qingyin Pavilion on the sign, but I always felt that the road was wrong, and finally I ran into the inspector. The sign should have been deliberately placed there by the locals to attract business, which misled tourists to some extent. The scenic area was not considerate enough, and there were no clear and easy-to-read signs at important forks. I should have gone in another direction to Wuxiangang to buy tickets through the main gate and then go to Qingyin Pavilion. Although it is farther, it is easy to go the wrong way to Qingyin Pavilion. Once you go the wrong way, the time and energy wasted will not be worth it. In the end, I still went the wrong way a little, because I walked down the stairs from someone else's hotel to get to the main road to Qingyin Pavilion, and the kind store owner pointed out the direction to Qingyin Pavilion, otherwise it would be troublesome to go straight.

It is really hard to find a paradise on earth with beautiful mountains and clear water in modern society, but wasn’t this the place in ancient times?

Clear streams flow by your feet, the road ahead is full of greenery, and the air is so comfortable that one slows down their pace unconsciously, intoxicated by the refreshing feeling that clears the lungs and spleen.

Mount Emei implements paperless ticket purchase (you can't collect a ticket). You can take the sightseeing bus at the exit next to the ticket counter. You can just swipe your ID card. You can also take the bus to other mountain entrances here. Mount Emei is a group of mountains, and it will take more than a few hours to climb to the Golden Summit. We have limited time and physical strength, so we chose to take a bus to Leidongping, which is equivalent to halfway up the mountain. Then climb to the top of the mountain.

It was the first time I saw so much snow, so happy! I stared at the snow outside, hoping to divert my attention. But I failed. I felt dizzy and felt much better after vomiting. I heard that Mount Emei has more rainy days than sunny days all year round, so I brought a raincoat with me. All I saw was fog. I was lucky that it happened to be sunny that day, but I don’t know why the fog was so thick. I followed the crowd and saw many uncles and aunts selling anti-slip spikes. I didn’t plan to buy them, but I almost fell after walking a few steps, so I immediately changed my mind and bought them. All the snow fell the day before. I checked the weather forecast before coming here. It was sunny to heavy snow. Obviously, this sunny to heavy snow happened one day in advance. When I went there, it should be said that it was "sunny to snow accumulation". At that time, I strongly hoped that there would be a heavy snow soon. Although there was only snow accumulation, I was still very happy. It is rare to see so much snow, and we even encountered the sea of ​​clouds. My mood was once soaring. I really want to build a snowman, but the scene doesn’t seem to be suitable, so I think I will wait until I reach the top of the mountain. I regretted it later because there was no snow on the top of the mountain.

After climbing for more than half an hour, we arrived at the cableway entrance. The mountain road was very slippery due to the snow, so most people chose to take the cableway. At that time, only my second son and I hiked up the mountain. We met two monks on the way, who kindly told us that we were not far ahead and to hold on. They were not wearing anti-slip spikes and walked very carefully. Not only them, but anyone who did not wear anti-slip spikes walked very carefully, fearing that they would fall on the cold mountain road. It is still recommended to buy anti-slip spikes when walking on snowy mountain roads, which is equivalent to buying safety.

We had never walked on such a snowy mountain road. Although we were wearing anti-slip spikes, we still had to hold on to the handrails. Carrying a heavy bag and a camera, and a bag of clothes and dry food in our hands, it was very difficult to climb. I should say that every time I climb a mountain, I feel it is very difficult because my physical strength and energy are limited, and it is not easy to climb.

My impression of Mount Emei is not only the tall golden statue of Samantabhadra, but also the layers of sea of ​​clouds, the silvery snow scene, and even the snowy mountain road. My yearning for famous mountains is not because of their height, but the state of mind after climbing to the top. If I really want to describe that state of mind, it should be: free, vast, clear and far-reaching.

The mountain wind whistled in, and the sunset gradually came. My obsession with sunset comes from my complex about twilight. Dusk means that the sky is getting dark and everything is quiet. The sunset at Mount Emei, at the end of the sea of ​​clouds, is even more far-reaching. After more than four hours of hiking, the top of the mountain was chilly to the bone, and the mountain wind was biting. It was very cold, but Mount Emei gave me such a beautiful scenery. I was really lucky.

The day we went down the mountain was a weekend, and there were many tourists going up the mountain. The sun was shining, the snow was melting, and the road became slippery. I almost fell backwards several times, but luckily I was lucky.

The second of the four famous Buddhist mountains, the Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's dojo, is extremely high and majestic. From the top of the peak, you can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance. The scenery is very grand and spectacular. There are all kinds of temples from the mountainside to the top of the mountain. Some are very old. You can see the bronze statue of Samantabhadra from the Song Dynasty. In spring, you can also see the relatively rare alpine azalea and Davidia involucrata flowers. Among the four famous Buddhist mountains and even the major famous mountains in China, Mount Emei is the most attractive in terms of nature and humanities.

During the walk from Leidongping to Jieying Temple, the road was covered with thin ice and was very slippery. I had to buy non-slip shoe covers on the roadside for 10 yuan. Although the shoe covers are simple, they are still quite useful. During the walk to Jieying Temple, I was full of hope, hoping to see the monkeys of Mount Emei, but I didn't see any of them along the way, and I was very disappointed. The 1.5-kilometer uphill road from Leidongping to Jieying Temple was quite slow, about 40 minutes. At Jieying Temple, the tour guide took everyone to take the cable car directly. At that time, I thought that Jieying Temple was a cable car station, but it was not. It was also a temple, and the side hall was the cable car station. At this time, looking out, I could basically see nothing except the fog. I was thinking that I would not be able to see anything on this trip to Mount Emei, so my mind was empty. Suddenly, I heard a chorus of "Wow". I looked up and saw that the sky was clear and blue.

After getting off the cable car, continue forward, and the Golden Summit is not far ahead. You can rent a coat at the bottom of the cable car, the price is about 20 to 30 yuan. The pine trees covered with snow and the blue sky are very beautiful.

Wanfoding is now inaccessible to tourists, so you can only look at it from a distance. Stay at the Golden Summit for 1 hour and 20 minutes, take the cable car down the mountain and go down the mountain along the original route. As I walked, I found that there were suddenly more people, and I realized that it must be monkeys, but unfortunately I didn’t see any little monkeys. After watching for a while, the staff of the scenic area came to drive away the monkeys and warned tourists to leave as soon as possible. The monkeys in Mount Emei are very big, and it is said that the big ones can reach 100 kilograms. Moreover, the monkeys in Mount Emei will snatch tourists holding food or plastic bags.

There are so many monkeys in Mount Emei! They are fat! They love to eat! And they have bad tempers! Hahahahahahahaha! But they are lovable! What to do! Some people say that they want to experience poking a monkey's butt when they come here next time, so let's wish him peace.

Officials say that the monkeys in Mount Emei are Tibetan macaques, and there are three monkey families in the mountain, with a total of more than 300 monkeys. The monkey manager is very domineering and scares away many monkeys with just one mouth. They said that if you come too early, you won't see the monkeys because they are used to sleeping late.

The sun peeked at passers-by through the woods, admiring their unexpectedly surprised expressions, and then feeling secretly proud of itself.

The air quality on the mountain is excellent, and every breath you take is as pure as the world should be.

The weather conditions at Mount Emei were so good that I could actually take photos of the stars with my iPhone's built-in camera. This was an experience I had never had before! It was all thanks to the weather conditions at Mount Emei!

I only walked a part of the way to the Golden Summit, and I was already captured. There are still many beautiful scenery passing by. I look forward to you stepping into the beauty that I have not experienced. Mount Emei is very large. If you want to reach the top of the mountain, it takes 2-3 hours one way. The top of the mountain will be very cold even in July and August. You need to bring a coat to go up the mountain, but you don’t need to rent a military coat in July and August. Don’t be deceived. It is near the Golden Summit. After entering the scenic area, you can take the Golden Summit cableway from the Jieying Hall or walk to it. According to personal experience, Mount Emei takes at least 2 days, otherwise it will be too hard to rush and you can’t have fun. In fact, I am a little afraid of climbing mountains. I am always out of breath and always laughed at. I always feel that it is easier to go down the mountain, at least the physical strength can keep up. So if time permits, I usually choose to walk down the mountain. This way I won’t miss more scenery. Although taking the cableway can save a lot of physical strength, many scenery cannot be seen. We took the cable car from Jinding to the Jieyin Hall in 3 minutes, and then walked for 20 minutes to Leidongping parking lot. Then we took the sightseeing bus to Wuxiangang parking lot (40 yuan), and walked for 5 minutes to see the Qingyin Pavilion archway and enter the Qingyin Pavilion scenic area. Qingyin Pavilion is on the same road as the One Line Sky and the Monkey Area. You can pass these attractions by walking straight ahead. The surrounding attractions such as One Line Sky and the Monkey Area are very popular with tourists. The monkeys in Mount Emei are particularly wild due to the habits of tourists, and there are rumors of tourists being injured from time to time.

There are three theories about the origin of the name of Mount Emei:

Ren Yu's "Yizhou Ji" says: "Emei is at the border of Nan'an County, and the two mountains facing each other are like Emei." Zhang Hua's "Bowuzhi" says: "Looking at this mountain, it is like the first moon, just like the top of Emei, thin, long, beautiful and gorgeous."

The second theory is that it is named after the river. There is a saying in the "Notes on the Classic of Waterways" that "the river is called Emei because of its eyebrows". Eshui is the Dadu River, which flows around Mount Emei. Eyebrow refers to a tributary. A tributary of the Dadu River comes from Mount Emei, hence the name.

The third theory is that it was named after the mountain's terrain. "E" is used to describe its height and "Mei" is used to describe its beauty, just like a girl's eyebrows, which are extremely beautiful.

I went to Mount Emei again. I have lost count of how many times I have been here. This time I went directly to Leidongping to take a cable car to the Golden Summit. There was no sea of ​​clouds, no sunrise, and no Buddha light. There was a drizzle along the way, and sometimes clouds filled the sky. Mount Emei is famous for its beauty. The mountains are not steep. The distant mountains are lush and green, with peaks and ridges overlapping. The folded mountains washed by the flowing water are like waves. Various coniferous pines, firs and other tall trees stand among the rocks. The beauty and magnificence blend together, which is very beautiful.



It is very relaxing to visit Emei Mountain this way. Unlike before, I was anxious to see the sunrise over the sea of ​​clouds, grasp the time, find a hotel to stay, and look for scenic spots on the map. I was so tired that my waist and legs ached and I was exhausted. This time I slowed down, admired the scenery, took photos, sat down to chat, and exchanged experiences. It was pretty good. I didn't know the names of these peaks when I came here many times before. Now I know that there are four mountains in Emei Mountain, from Da'e Mountain to Si'e Mountain. The Emei scenic area we came to is only Da'e Mountain, which is the main peak of Emei Mountain, with an altitude of 3,079 meters. It is the dojo of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva.



Mount Emei is rich in cultural flavor, not only because it is Foshan, but also because many scholars and writers from ancient times to the present have visited the mountain and left many poems and stories after viewing it. For example, Li Bai's "Climbing Mount Emei" describes the majestic and beautiful Mount Emei as a fairyland, and the famous lines handed down from generation to generation are amazing. I think the best is the second paragraph "The blue sky opens up, and the colors are like paintings. The cool purple clouds are appreciated, and the secret of the secret is obtained." The essence of Mount Emei is vividly expressed on paper. Li Bai's poems describing natural scenery are the best in China.

Jinding is the main peak of Mount Emei, with an altitude of 3077 meters. It is the end of Mount Emei and is full of scenic spots. Huazang Temple is towering on the top of the rock. It was built in the Tang Dynasty. The roof is covered with tin tiles. It was also called "Silver Top" in the Yuan Dynasty. There is a Woyun Temple on the side of the temple, with a dining hall and guest rooms for tourists to eat and stay. Jinding is adjacent to Qianfoding and Wanfoding, and there are also buildings on Wanfoding. You can see the four wonders of Emei at Jinding - sunrise, sea of ​​clouds, and Buddha light. Unfortunately, there was heavy fog. I waited until 12 o'clock and there was no sign of it dispersing. I didn't see any wonders and had to go down the mountain regretfully.

We walked down the mountain from Jinding to Leidongping. Some of the stairs were very steep. Some guides said that it would take about 2 hours to walk from Leidongping to Jinding. That should be for athletes or mountaineering enthusiasts. We walked down the mountain for nearly 2 hours. I estimate that it would take 3 to 4 hours to go up the mountain. We met Emei monkeys on the way from Jieyin Temple to Leidongping. The monkeys were not "at work" when we went up the mountain.

There are many travel guides for Mount Emei Scenic Area on the Internet. A complete tour requires at least two days. On the first day, you should visit the low mountain area and stay on the top of the mountain. On the second day, after watching the Golden Summit sunrise and other landscapes, you can go to the middle mountain area for sightseeing and then take the sightseeing bus back to the passenger transport center.

It took me 1 hour to hike to the Golden Summit. My companions took the cable car and said that the queue was long and the cable car was like a bus that could accommodate many people. There were no handrails and no view. It took 3 minutes to reach the top. It was not cold when there was sunshine on the mountain, but it was hard to say if it was cloudy and foggy. The sea of ​​clouds on the mountain was very beautiful. It is recommended that young people climb the mountain and the elderly take the cable car. The round-trip cable car fee is 120 yuan, and the 15 yuan insurance recommended by the tour guide can be waived.

The golden statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is very impressive. The monkey is wild and hard to tame, so be careful.

Mount Emei in winter is definitely worth visiting, and the rewards are greater than expected.

This time I booked tickets for Mount Emei on Lvmama, which saved me a lot of time queuing. It is more convenient to drive to Mount Emei for a two-day tour. Visit Jinding on the first day and Wannian Temple in the afternoon. Drive directly to the parking lot of Wannian Temple, and then you can take the cable car or walk up the mountain. Personally, I think it is completely possible to walk. One thing to note when driving is that after visiting Wannian Temple, return to the parking lot. It is best not to go to Qingyin Pavilion, because you have to climb stairs all the way back.

Tips: In the ecological monkey area, be sure to take good care of your belongings to prevent them from being taken away by naughty monkeys. You can enjoy alpine rhododendrons in May and June, escape the heat in summer, and ski and soak in hot springs in winter.

The scenery is nice. But the service is one star for the following reasons:

1. I encountered two toilets closed for maintenance in a row, so I walked a long way.

3. I bought senior citizen tickets for my parents, and the price was shown as 0 yuan. Many people on the road said that my parents' age (under 65) can only be half-price and not free. 4. The queue order is very bad, and people keep cutting in line. This is not the fault of the scenic spot, but it is also the experience of the scenic spot.

Tips for mountain hikers: Don't take the bus to Wannian Temple. The Wannian Temple parking lot is at the starting point of the Wannian Temple cableway. It takes 40 minutes to walk to Wannian Temple. If you are hiking, it is best to take the bus to Wuxiangang. (This is the starting point of the half-mountain hike. The whole hike should go to Baoguo Temple.)

Friends who are not physically fit can take a bus directly to Leidongping, and it takes 2 hours to climb from Leidongping to Jinding.

From the Baoguo Temple Visitor Center Station, the first bus to Leidongping is at 6 a.m., and the first bus to Wuxiangang and other places is at 7 a.m. The last bus back to the mountain is at 18:00 (please ask the staff to confirm).

My hiking route is: on the first day, I went from Wannian Temple to Taiziping, and stayed overnight at Taiziping Temple. On the second day, I got up early to watch the sunrise, and went down to Leidongping around noon, and took a car down the mountain. The accommodation at Taiziping Temple is 50 yuan per person, and the evening vegetarian meal is 20 yuan per person. Most temples in Mount Emei provide accommodation, and there are also homestays on the mountain. No reservation is required during the off-season. The price of meals in the Emeishan Scenic Area is also very reasonable. It should be managed by the scenic area. Fried rice and noodles are about 15 yuan. You can choose to eat in the scenic area.

The mobile navigation showed that it was only 13 kilometers from Wannian Temple to Jinding. When I climbed to Jinding and chatted with the staff, I found out that it was 30 kilometers. I arrived at Wannian Temple Cableway Station at 7:30 in the morning and started climbing. I arrived at Taiziping Accommodation at 16:20. I set out for Jinding at 16:40 and arrived at 17:30. I climb slowly, but I basically don't stop to rest except for eating. You can refer to my speed to arrange your itinerary.

The route I chose is relatively short, mainly because I was afraid that I could not finish the climb. Friends who have enough time and energy can also climb the long route that passes through the 99 bends, which has better scenery.

It is not difficult to climb Mount Emei, it is just steps.

The staff told me that if you want to see the sunrise over Mount Emei, it is best to come in summer or winter, as the success rate is quite high. It is basically foggy when the two seasons alternate. He spent a month at the Golden Summit and saw the sunrise only four days.

Seeing the fog getting thicker and thicker, and the sea of ​​clouds was hopeless, we hurried down the mountain and had a good rest in Chengdu! We walked down the mountain to Leidongping and took a bus back to the Baoguo Temple Visitor Center.

Mount Emei is still worth a visit. If you plan to watch the sunrise, it is recommended to stay at Jinding or Leidongping the night before, and then start the rest of the trip after visiting Jinding the next day.

Mount Emei is a large scenic area with different scenery in each season. Visitors can arrange their trips according to their own time, preferences and physical fitness. For leisure tours, you can take the scenic area transportation bus and cable car to take you to the attractions you want to visit, saving energy. If you hike up the mountain, bring some daily necessities and change clothes and go up the mountain lightly. The temples along the way can provide accommodation and vegetarian meals. There are hotels in Qingyin Pavilion, Leidongping and Jinding. Bring a happy heart and enough physical fitness to set off. For long-distance mountaineering, it is better to bring knee pads and trekking poles. Sports injuries are irreversible.

Walking among the mountains and rivers, the mountain streams are flowing happily, the misty cloud peaks, the deep valley jungle, and the lively trees. When you come here, you will find that Wang Wei's empty mountain is in your heart.

There are too many temples in Mount Emei. The "Buddhist Paradise" and "Famous Buddhist Mountain" are not in vain. There are more than 30 temples of various sizes scattered in Mount Emei. Of course, I don't recommend visiting all the temples. You will get tired of seeing the same old things. After all, the Buddha is kept in our hearts. The ancient temples such as Huguo Temple, Wannian Temple and Qingyin Pavilion are still worth seeing. The plaque of Baoguo Temple was written by Emperor Kangxi himself.

Before signing up for the tour, I was skeptical whether it was a pure play tour. I didn't expect the itinerary to be very reasonable. But the monkeys in it are too scary. Fortunately, I have a friend to play with, and I can be brave when I travel together.

After getting off the scenic area sightseeing bus, it actually took more than 2 hours to get up from the foot of the mountain, which was really surprising. The distance marked on the map was more than 60 kilometers of winding mountain road. It was okay going up the mountain, but on the way back, almost a quarter of the people got carsick because there were indeed a lot of turns.

The beauty of Mount Emei lies in its graceful mountain range, the sunrise and sea of ​​clouds at the Golden Summit, and the luxuriant vegetation.

It was cloudy at the foot of the mountain, and the fog was getting thicker all the way. When we arrived at Leidongping, we couldn't tell whether it was the condensation of the fog or a light rain. It was really "there was no rain on the mountain road, but the green sky wet people's clothes". The perceived temperature dropped by nearly 10 degrees.

Maybe it was just bad luck. The bus broke down halfway and we had to get off and change buses. Fortunately, the new bus arrived within 10 minutes. We set off again. When we arrived at the Leidongping parking lot, it was almost 12 o'clock. I got off the bus and found that there were small snowflakes outside. I was shivering with cold. My boyfriend rented me a down jacket and I was instantly warm. Since I had made a guide the day before, I knew that there were many and powerful monkeys on the mountain, and they specifically attacked tourists with red bags. I was so scared that I quickly put my bag in Ye Ge's backpack. Sure enough, Ye Ge told me in less than a while that the man with a red bag in front was attacked by a monkey. After climbing for about 40 minutes, we finally arrived at the Jieyin Hall. Ye Ge and I acted separately. He went to buy the ropeway ticket, and I went to the toilet (I was almost suffocating), and then we met at the ropeway entrance. When I saw it, my goodness, the queue was so long that it would take at least an hour to get up.

It really proved the saying that it takes one hour to queue up and five minutes to take the cable car. After enjoying the beautiful scenery at the Golden Summit, we went down hand in hand. As expected, the speed of going down the mountain was very fast. There was no need to queue up for the cable car. It didn’t take long to reach the Leidongping parking lot. We returned the clothes and took the bus back to the foot of the mountain!

To enter Mount Emei, you have to take a bus, which costs 90 yuan per person and takes about 2 hours. The ticket + insurance (5 yuan per person) is a total of 190 yuan per person. If you want to take the cable car, the round-trip fee is 120 yuan per person (it seems to include two sections of the cable car). In this way, one person needs 400 yuan.

In summer, it is hot and stuffy at the foot of Mount Emei, but cool on the mountain. You have to wear long sleeves on the mountain because it is over 3,000 meters above sea level.

It is considered an old tourist attraction in the vicinity of Chengdu. Many people go here for the Golden Summit. The blue sky, sea of ​​clouds and golden Buddha above the Golden Summit are already very attractive. In winter, the road to the Golden Summit is covered with snow, and enjoying the snow scenery along the way has become a highlight.

The altitude of Mount Emei ranges from over 1,000 meters to over 3,000 meters, with the highest altitude at 3,075 meters. Due to the large altitude span, the temperature and landscape in the scenic area also vary greatly.

On the first day, we arrived at Qingyin Pavilion at noon and walked from Qingyin Pavilion to Wannian Temple. Although it was winter, it was not very cold. The road was full of green, and there was no bleak scenery at all. On the second day, we went to Leidongping. It was completely different from the world below. Everything was covered with snow. The branches had no green leaves. The thick snow pressed on the tree trunks and had frozen into ice. Long icicles hung on the eaves. The picture at this time really looked like a fairy tale world. Everything was pure, without a single extra color. After walking for nearly half an hour to reach the entrance of the cableway of the Jieyin Hall, the sky, which was originally covered with fog, suddenly brightened up, and the sun revealed a holy light. The sky in high altitude areas is so transparent and blue. The sky has nothing, but it can give people endless touches.

The essence of Mount Emei is the Golden Summit. If you have enough time, you can walk from the Jieying Hall to the Golden Summit. It is very interesting to walk up and into the sea of ​​clouds. If you want to watch the sunrise at the Golden Summit, you can stay near Leidongping. It takes 2-3 hours to walk to the top. It is best to check the sunrise time in advance and plan your itinerary. It should be reminded that if you drive by yourself, private cars can only stop at zero kilometers, and you must take the scenic area bus to continue upward. So if you are going to the Golden Summit from Qingyin Pavilion or Wannian Temple, don't believe the people who drive black cars on the roadside and say they will take you to the Golden Summit. They can only drive to zero kilometers. Remember that taking the scenic area bus is the most correct choice.

Continuing from the previous day's comment. If it is raining, you should bring shoe covers and a raincoat. I personally think that umbrellas are not very useful, and raincoats are more practical.

It was really unfortunate that we came to Mount Emei on a rainy day. It was so foggy that we couldn't see anything. My interest in sightseeing was greatly reduced. For a while, I couldn't even see the golden statue that was so close to me, let alone look into the distance from the top of the mountain.

There are many devout people praying and worshipping. The wind, rain and fog are nothing to them. After all, they all come here with faith.

Since the weather was really bad, there was not much scenery to see, and the drive to the mountain was long, which made me a little carsick, so I went down the mountain very early.

The driver stopped at Wannian Temple first, and we got off at Wannian Temple. After Wannian Temple, we walked all the way to Qingyin Pavilion. On the way, we passed Bailong Cave, which is said to be the place where White Snake practiced. There are green mountains and clear waters. Although tired, I feel happy~~

Along the way, I experienced no-man's land and climbed one desperate ladder after another. I really like climbing mountains. It is painful and joyful.

I got up at four o'clock the next morning, ready to go to the Golden Summit to watch the sunrise. I dragged my tired body step by step to the cable car, queued up to buy tickets, and it was almost six o'clock when I got on the cable car. The time for sunrise was very short. When we were about to reach the observation deck, we saw a little red in the distance, and the sunrise disappeared in an instant. It is no exaggeration to say that I only saw it once, and there was really no time to take pictures.

This trip was mainly about mountain climbing. It started to rain heavily when we just reached the top of the mountain, but it cleared up when we got down the mountain. It was so annoying.

Carrying a large bag weighing 30 kilograms, we hiked the entire way up the mountain, starting from Baoguo Temple, and it took 14 hours to reach the Golden Summit.

Day 1: Depart from Baoguo Temple at 7:00 and arrive at Xixiangchi at 18:00, which takes 11 hours. Stay in a six-person room at the temple for 50 yuan (prices vary in different temples). Have a vegetarian meal from 18:00 to 19:00 for 20 yuan, including 3 vegetarian meals and 1 soup.

(Don’t turn right at the Baoguo Temple intersection and walk along the road, as that leads to Wuxiangang. We set out at 5:30 and walked forward excitedly, but ended up going the wrong way, so we had to go back, wasting an hour. If you want to go straight, there is a small road up the mountain, so just go uphill.)

Day 2: It was raining, so we had to wait for it to stop. We set out from Xixiangchi at 9 o'clock and arrived at Jinding at 12 o'clock.

Leidongping is the last stop on the bus up the mountain. If you want to go to the Golden Summit, you have to change to the cable car. This is also the road with the most tourists.

It felt like the most tiring mountain I have ever climbed, climbing up and down the mountains in a continuous cycle.

The scenery is still OK, but the scenic area is very large. If you want to visit it completely in 2 days, you will be tight. However, the purchased ticket is valid for up to two days. If you exceed the limit, you need to repurchase it. It is recommended to visit only 2-3 scenic spots. The ticket price is 165. If you visit all the scenic spots, it is worth it, but if you can only visit 2-3, it feels very high. There are many people, the management of the scenic area is average, there are too many people on the cable car, and basically only cash is accepted. There is only one window that supports electronic payment, which feels very backward. Therefore, it takes more than 1 hour to queue up for tickets and more than 1 hour to wait for the cable car, which is a waste of time.

Maybe it was because of the rain, I didn’t see the advertised scenery of Mount Emei, nor did I see any monkeys. The Huazang Temple and the Golden Summit on the top were both burned down in a fire in the 1970s and were rebuilt later. As for the Ganesha Buddha statue, it was also newly built.

Here is a suggestion: There are two types of ropeways from Mount Emei to Jinding. Because we bought round-trip ropeway tickets, when we were going down the mountain, at a fork in the road not far from the Jinding Hotel, one of the signs pointed to the round-trip ropeway, which was the Jinding Hotel. As a result, there was no sign pointing to the next direction (because there were two roads next to the hotel, and there was no sign for the round-trip ropeway). The other sign pointed to the direction of the one-way ropeway. As a result, we walked to the Jinding Hotel and didn’t know where to go. The other direction was the direction of the one-way ropeway. Many tourists were confused here. It was raining heavily. We wandered in the rain for a long time before we heard that the round-trip ropeway ticket could also take the one-way ropeway. If it was indicated on the sign, we wouldn’t have to wander in the rain for so long (we were already soaked), or we could improve the sign at the Jinding Hotel. Details determine success or failure. Our natural scenery, humanities and history are magnificent, vast, and profound, but we also need to protect them well and manage them with care.

Also, it takes more than 20 kilometers to drive from the gate of Mount Emei to where you can take the shuttle bus, and then it takes another 20 kilometers to take the shuttle bus to where you can take the cable car. Is it necessary to be so far apart?

It should be considered as one of the top scenic spots in China. But it still depends on the weather. I took a nearly three-hour car ride at the foot of the mountain and took the cable car up to the Golden Summit. It was foggy and I couldn't see anything. I was carsick and wanted to vomit. It was not until I got to the Golden Summit that the sky suddenly cleared up. Everything was worth it.

Beautiful scenery, cool and pleasant climate, but there are a lot of people and the waiting time is long

The weather above the halfway point of Mount Emei is changeable, with clouds and mist lingering around. It is said that the weather changes every ten miles.

The scenic area is poorly managed and the scenery is OK

The Emeishan Scenic Area stands in the southwest of the Sichuan Basin, 7 kilometers southwest of Emeishan City and 37 kilometers east of Leshan City. The scenic area covers an area of ​​about 154 square kilometers. The highest peak, Wanfoding, is 3,099 meters above sea level. It is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. There are about 26 temples, eight of which are important, and Buddhist activities are frequent. Respected by believers from all over the world, it is a Sichuan scenic spot and a demonstration site for national civilized scenic tourist areas. On December 6, 1996, the Leshan Giant Buddha of Emeishan was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as a dual cultural and natural heritage.

At the square, we were overwhelmed by the sight. It was my first time seeing a waterfall, and I was so excited. Mount Emei is the most beautiful mountain in the world, and it is worthy of its reputation.

Several of us took pictures under the waterfall. The water flow of the waterfall is very large, and the waves are splashing. We can feel the beauty of nature up close, open our hands, stretch forward, and let the water droplets fall on our palms. The feeling of being wet and comfortable strikes everyone's heart.

There are many Buddha statues nearby, which are very majestic, but there are so many tourists that we can only look at them from a distance.

When we were going up the mountain, the staff had gone off work, so we went straight in. Now that I think about it, it was only 0 yuan, well, it was worth it, quite worth it, why should I complain. When we started to go up the mountain, it gradually got dark, but walking on the road was really refreshing.

It's very cold at the top of the mountain, so you must rent a down jacket. If you have altitude sickness, it is recommended not to go up

In fact, in terms of natural and cultural scenery, Mount Emei is definitely 5-star, but the management and service level of the scenic area is really poor. Because of the rain in the morning, there was a landslide on the mountain, so many tourists gathered in the afternoon. However, there are three cable cars in the scenic area, but only one was open. We queued for two hours to take pictures on the cable car. I really don’t know what the scenic area is thinking.

Remember not to sign up for a one-day tour, a two-day tour is best!

It was raining all the time during the climb, and the fog was thick in the mountain. When I climbed up to the Golden Summit, the clouds and mist were lingering, like a fairyland, and the body of the golden Buddha was hidden in it.

It is very rare to see the Golden Buddha shining on the Golden Summit, because Mount Emei is more than 3,000 meters above sea level, and there are more than 200 days of foggy rain and snow weather in a year, and clear skies are very rare. When we were going down the mountain, a cloud passed by and it started to rain heavily. We queued up for the cable car for more than an hour. When we were exhausted, the cable car slipped off the track. Oh my God! The mountains below were green, the sea of ​​clouds was changing, and the blue sky above was clear. How can it be described with just one word!

On the afternoon of October 4, 2017, I took the train to Mount Emei. I took the free shuttle bus to the tourist center. I bought tickets and transportation tickets and went up the mountain. The transportation bus meandered along the winding mountain road. I got off at 0 kilometers to check the ticket and changed the bus to continue going up the mountain. I arrived at Leidongping at about 15:30 and found an inn next to the parking lot. It was 580 yuan, which was cheaper than the price on the Internet. It was drizzling at the time. The rain stopped around 16 o'clock, but the fog was quite heavy. I didn't want to waste a lot of good time, and I also wanted to get familiar with the climbing route, so I went up the mountain in the direction of the cableway station. I walked and stopped, and arrived at the cableway station in about 40 minutes. On the way, I met many tourists going down the mountain. I asked about it. There was heavy fog on the mountain all day and I couldn't see anything. So we didn't go to the top of the mountain. We played here for more than an hour and returned to the inn when it was getting dark. On the second day, I got up early to watch the sunrise. When I left the inn, I saw that the sky was clear. I followed the crowd to the lower station of the cable car and caught the first cable car (a large cable car with about 50 people in one cabin). After getting off the cable car, I had to climb the mountain for another 15 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. It was windy and cold on the mountain. I found a place to shelter from the wind and waited quietly. The lights of Mount Emei were vaguely visible. Just as the sun was about to come out, there was more and more fog coming from somewhere below the mountain. When the sun came out, it was already a sea of ​​clouds. It was so spectacular! The entire top of the mountain was surrounded by a sea of ​​clouds. The Gongga Mountain in the northwest and the Wawu Mountain in the north were also very clear. At about 8:30, we returned to the inn to check out and go down the mountain.

If you have 2-3 days, it is recommended to hike up the mountain to enjoy the scenery of Mount Emei, which is much more interesting than simply taking a car up and down the mountain. But please do not walk alone, because there are many wild monkeys in Mount Emei, and it is easy to be attacked by monkeys. It will be much safer to go with more people.

Our plan is to visit Mount Emei in one day. The route is as follows (also a one-day semi-hiking route recommended to everyone):

Take a sightseeing bus to Leidongping (two hours) - Hike to Jinding (two and a half hours) - Hike from Jinding to Leidongping (one and a half hours) - Take a sightseeing bus from Leidongping to Wuxiangang (one and a half hours) - Hike from Wuxiangang parking lot to Qingyin Pavilion and the ecological monkey area and visit (two hours) - Take a sightseeing bus from Wuxiangang to Huiguo Temple (half an hour)

We bought the full mountain section round trip, 90 yuan per person, the route is Baoguo Temple - Leidongping (2 hours), Leidongping - Wannian Temple/Wuxiangang (you can choose to get off at one stop) - Baoguo Temple. If you buy the full mountain section, you can only go directly to Leidongping when going up the mountain, and you can get off at the intermediate station when going down the mountain. The route up and down the mountain is different. If you only visit the attractions in Zhongshan District, you can buy the Zhongshan section round trip (40 yuan). The bus runs every half an hour, and the last bus leaves at 18:00.

Tips: There are five parking lots in Mount Emei Scenic Area:
