Wangcong Temple

望丛祠

Wangcong Temple is a tomb and temple in memory of the two famous monarchs of the ancient Shu Kingdom, Wangdi and Congdi, who were buried together. It was rebuilt in recent years. Between the palaces and tombs, there are pools with rippling blue waves. There are pavilions such as "Daosun Tower" and "Tingjuan Tower" built by the water. There are more than 200 ancient cypresses in and around the tomb, which are lush and green. Every year on the Dragon Boat Festival of the lunar calendar, people nearby gather here to hold a "singing competition". The singing competition is large in scale and has a large number of participants. The contestants are all ordinary civilians, with a strong rural atmosphere and a lively scene. In Pidu District, there is a subway that can go directly to the place where the ancestors of the Shu people are worshipped.

By Lujiang Zhou Gongjin |

The ancestral hall of Emperor Wang and Emperor Cong, the source of ancient Shu. Located in the urban area of Pidu, the transportation is very convenient. The Pi County Museum is also in the scenic area.

If you don't charge admission, you can go in and have a look. Pi County is extremely short of tourism resources, so this park should be free.

The Pi County Wangcong Temple is located in Pidu District, Chengdu. The opening hours are 08:30-17:30, and admission is stopped after 5:30 pm every day. It is free to visit. It is mainly to commemorate the earliest Shu King Wangdi Du Yu and his successor Congdi during the Warring States Period. Those who are interested in Shu culture can come and visit.

In fact, it is very commemorative. It is a temple to commemorate the ancient Shu Wangdi and Congdi. Now it is actually a park. Many people drink tea, bask in the sun and play mahjong in it. Well, the three old entertainments of Chengdu people are quite cheap here. There is a small lake. It is said that you can see lotus in summer. There is also a jade museum and Pi County Museum, but they are very small and there is nothing particularly interesting. It is okay to walk around.

A source of the ancient Shu Kingdom's cultural bloodline, it became more famous due to Li Shangyin's line "King Wang's spring love is entrusted to the cuckoo". If you are in Pi County, you should come here.

By He Xiaohui |

The lotus pond is somewhat attractive, and the museum inside is worth a visit, but overall it is too small and has too few facilities, so you can finish the visit in less than an hour.

By Qiao Ruoan |

The largest and earliest mausoleum of the ancient Shu emperors in Sichuan, the only one in the country that worships two masters. Wangdi's spring love is entrusted to the cuckoo, and you can learn about the history of the ancient Shu Kingdom. The scenery in the park is nice.

By Niu Xiake |

A good free attraction to pay tribute to the shrine and tomb of the ancient Shu Wangdi Du Yucongdi Kaiming. The environment is quiet, there are few tourists, and the lotus flowers are in full bloom. Those who love history can increase their knowledge.

Pi County is a nice place. Wangcong Temple is the best place to experience this ancient city with a thousand-year history and cultural heritage. The environment is beautiful, surrounded by green trees, birdsong and flowers. Bonsai, museums, pavilions and towers must not be missed. After visiting Wangcong Temple, go to No. 188 Xingluo Road, Tuojiang Farmers' Market to enjoy a bowl of authentic Tuojiang handmade pig intestines noodles. Juntun Guokui + Jiezi are a must, and it costs 15 yuan. After the meal, go along the Tuojiang Farmers' Market and stroll leisurely along the Tuojiang Greenway. The small bridges and flowing water, the air is pleasant, and the wetland park inside must not be missed. If the weather is good, riding a Mobike bicycle to ride the Tuojiang Greenway is a different experience. Well, this is how I feel!

The prices are cheap and there is a small restaurant at the door. It is free to visit in summer and the endless green lotus leaves are very nice.

Located in Pitong Town, Pi County, the entire scenic area is lush with vegetation, birdsong and flowers, suitable for a leisurely walk~

By Xiao Ou |

In spring, the whole yard is full of grass-rooted yet dignified wild orchids (their scientific name is Japanese iris), and wisteria is dotted in between. The park is not large, but it has a kind of tranquility that is not found elsewhere, making people want to stay for a few more minutes to listen to the quiet birdsong in the deep woods. "The moon is bright over the sea, and the pearls are in tears. The spring love of the King Wang is entrusted to the cuckoo." With this saying, are you willing to leave?

Located in Pi County (Pidu District), this modern building was rebuilt to commemorate the two ancient Shu kings, Wangdi and Congdi.

It is near Pi County, with a quiet environment, and is not a popular tourist spot. It is the shrine for Wangdi Du Yu and Congdi Kaiming of the ancient Shu Kingdom.

Wangcong Temple is built to commemorate the "pioneer of Tianfu and the pioneer of Shu". It is located in the southwest of Pi County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, 23 kilometers away from Chengdu City. It is a temple built to commemorate the earliest Shu King Wangdi Du Yu and his successor Congdi. It is also the only temple in China that worships two masters and the largest and earliest emperor's tomb in Sichuan to pay tribute to the ancestors of Shu people.

The scenic spot near my home is very historical. There is the mausoleum of the two emperors Wangcong. The vegetation is very good. You can go boating, drink tea, and there are lotus flowers.

In Pi County, tourists are nice and the place is leisurely and quiet.

By If one day |

Personally, I think the historical heritage and environmental characteristics are no worse than Wuhou Temple; the key is that Wangcong Temple does not require tickets. Hehe...

By ゞPlain and simple is true |

Suitable for the elderly... A little small. It was finished in a short time.

Next to the Pi County of Chengdu, you can take a bus or train to get there. The 305/320 bus terminal is about 1 km away. It is now free to enter. The appearance is average, but after entering, you will find a different world. If you go to Pi County, it is worth a visit~

Located in Xindu, this is a small ancestral hall where you can visit

By Mr Y |

Wangdi placed his love on the cuckoo, but the current Wangcong Temple is very ordinary.

By New Northwesterner |

I just went there today. It's not a big place, not crowded, very quiet. Wangdi Mausoleum is slightly bigger. Friends who like history can go and have a look.

This is a place known to everyone in Pi County. It used to require tickets, but now it doesn't. It's not very large and is said to be expanding. It is the tomb of Emperor Wang.

By 123 |

It is a temple with a quiet and peaceful environment.

By Colorful World |

A park in Pi County. The lake water there is a bit smelly and it's very average. It's okay for a walk, but it's not worth going there specifically for fun.

By Mr Y |

The poem describes it well. This place is not ostentatious and does not require tickets. It is simple and quiet.

A good free attraction, a good place to enjoy lotus in summer

Wangcong Temple is located in Pi County near Chengdu. It is the tomb of Emperor Wang and Emperor Cong. In order to commemorate the ancestors, local people built the temple and mausoleum, which is open to the public for free for future generations to pay homage. If you are unfamiliar with the names of these two people, you might as well recall an ancient poem "Zhuang Sheng dreamed of butterflies in the morning, and Emperor Wang's spring heart was entrusted to cuckoos", which is about this Emperor Wang. Now many citizens have leisure and entertainment again, and occasionally there are folk artists who set up a stage to sing or practice their voices, which is very lively for a while.

The entire ancestral hall is hidden in the green trees and bamboo forest, very quiet

By Let's go, Meatballs |

It is located in Pi County and is a cultural scenic spot with beautiful scenery.

By Let's go, Meatballs |

The biggest difference from other temples is its architectural features, and it is a relatively ancient imperial tomb.

By Let's go, Meatballs |

The park is not large, but it is small and the surrounding environment is very quiet.

By Da Song is an unlucky guy |

I have been there for many years. It is not small, the scenic area is well greened, and there are some cultural relics. It is a more humanistic attraction.

By Da Song is an unlucky guy |

The attractions in the old town of Pi County are not highly recommended.

By Tears. |

Wangcong Temple in Pi County is a relatively small park-like place with no entrance fee. The lotus pond inside is very beautiful in summer.

By Logo |

It feels very quiet and suitable for cooling off and relaxing. I have been here many times. The environment is also very good and you can also learn about ancient culture.

By A grass insect under the lamp |

The first time I knew about Wangcong Temple was from the ancient poem "Wang Di's spring love is entrusted to the cuckoo", which tells the story of Wang Di and Cong Di in ancient Shu. There is also a line saying "The cuckoo cries blood and the ape wails."

Wangcong Temple is about an hour and a half drive from Chengdu. One of the biggest features of this place is the gate. Other scenic spots generally have one gate, but Wangcong Temple has two gates, symbolizing the two emperors.

The two mausoleums are not far from each other. Both are large burial mounds with huge tombstones, towering ancient trees and a quiet environment. There is a museum in Wangcong Temple, which mainly displays stone statues, stone horses, stone men and the like unearthed nearby; there is also a large lake full of lotus flowers, which is very beautiful.

By Majiaping |

On the edge of Pi County city, there is a park built to commemorate the former emperor of the ancient Shu Kingdom. It must be pointed out that it has no history, so it is okay to visit.

By Mushroom cub-Abin |

Wangcong Temple was originally a temple to commemorate the ancient Shu Emperor Wang and Emperor Cong. It was later expanded. The scenic area is full of towering ancient trees and beautiful environment. There is a lake for boating and many pavilions for rest. Usually there are many people here, most of whom drink tea and chat by the lake. In general, Wangcong Temple is a business card of Pi County, and it is recommended to go and see it.
