The 200,000-hectare nature reserve boasts lush forests, fresh air, and stunning natural scenery. Visitors to Wolong are primarily interested in seeing the pandas. Besides pandas, the area also boasts numerous rare and nationally protected plants and animals. The Wild Panda Observation Station, the Giant Panda Museum, and the Golden Monkey Museum are also worth a visit. Wolong also offers a number of well-equipped restaurants and hotels.

From Chengdu to Siguniang Mountain, we passed through several tunnels. From Gengda Town to Wolong, we passed through Jianzhu Tunnel No. 1 and Jianzhu Tunnel No. 2. When we passed through Jianzhu Tunnel No. 2, it snowed again, so we must pay attention to safety.
Pandas are very cute and can be watched up close outside the enclosure
Driving by, the national treasure's cozy home, happy and comfortable
Wolong has the largest number of giant pandas in Sichuan. If you want to see giant pandas, you must go to Wolong.
Wolong Nature Reserve includes the two towns of Wolong and Danda, with beautiful natural scenery that is a must-see.
Wolong Giant Panda Nature Reserve, the national treasure is so cute
Wolong Town, Wenchuan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
This is the habitat of giant pandas and there is a giant panda reserve here.
After May 12, the giant panda base was relocated to the nearby Gengda and named the China Giant Panda Garden.
We walked from Rilong to Wolong. The scenery along the way was breathtaking. It is known as the Little Jiuzhaigou. A big brother drove the four of us out together. The Hero Valley is right next to it. It is really challenging. The last time I went to Wolong, the pandas were all resting.
You can take children to watch it, but I don't think it's necessary for adults.
Pandas are very cute and the surrounding environment is very good. Pandas don’t have such a small range of activities as they do in cities.
It feels just like that! But it's okay. Compared with the Chengdu Panda Base and the Bifengxia Panda Base, this one is slightly better.
Pandas are very cute, but unfortunately there are too few of them and I didn't see any red pandas.
I went on a weekday afternoon, so it was pretty quiet. Because it was afternoon, the pandas were still asleep and didn't move much. I only saw one or two of them strolling around. Later, I saw them feeding the red pandas, which was adorable. As a national treasure, it's definitely worth a visit. The area is beautiful. There's a noodle shop just outside the scenic area that serves delicious bamboo shoot beef noodles for 12 yuan per bowl.
This was rebuilt after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. It wasn't crowded. From the ticket office to the entrance, the right side was lined with guesthouses and farmhouses. The afternoon was hot and sunny, and the pandas refused to come out. We waited for the weather to cool down in the rest area. My companion even took the opportunity to lie down and take a nap. Finally, the sky overcast, and we headed to the panda activity area. Several pandas had already emerged. Two were jostling in the trees, which was particularly entertaining and attracted a large crowd. In another enclosure, three pandas were lazily nibbling on bamboo, while one was asleep. The panda enclosure closed at 5:00, and we left reluctantly.
The main reason I went to Chengdu was to see the giant pandas, they are so cute
The Tibetan area closest to Chengdu has blue sky and white clouds, good air, extremely suitable temperature, non-humid air humidity, beautiful autumn colors, white snow, and giant pandas. It is a place I highly recommend privately.
The reserve primarily protects the natural ecosystems of the southwestern alpine forests and rare animals like the giant panda. The scenic area boasts numerous outdoor enclosures, each enclosed by a wall. Without the need for glass, you can get up close and personal with the adorable pandas, even nibbling bamboo. Some enclosures house the lively adult pandas, while others house the young red pandas, all gathered in groups, whimpering and cuddling. Seeing the most active panda, scrambling around its own territory, stretching against the wall, walking close to it, and climbing a high platform, brought a wave of excitement to my heart. I longed to reach out and touch it, but I couldn't. At nine in the morning, the mountains were shrouded in mist, creating a fairyland-like atmosphere. The air was incredibly fresh, and having giant pandas inhabit this area was a perfect choice. I wished I were one of these national treasures, so adorable!
In Gengda Town, Wenchuan, on the way to Mount Siguniang.
Wolong Giant Panda Reserve is the third largest national nature reserve.
Wolong Nature Reserve is located in the southwest of Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, on the southeast slope of the Qionglai Mountains. It is 130 kilometers from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, and offers convenient transportation. Following the devastating Wenchuan earthquake, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region provided counterpart funding for the construction of the Wolong Nature Reserve, which is now the third-largest national nature reserve. It is also the largest, most complex, and most abundant in rare flora and fauna in Sichuan Province. Spanning Wolong and Gengda Townships, the reserve stretches 52 kilometers from east to west and 62 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of approximately 700,000 hectares. It primarily protects the natural ecosystems of the southwestern alpine forests and rare animals such as the giant panda.
After the 2008 earthquake, the original giant panda base was closed. The newly built panda park in Gengda Township has a small number of pandas and is divided into an area for adult pandas and an area for baby pandas. These fat black and white pandas are cute, soft, and lazy.
When you come to Sichuan, you must come to see the national treasure, the giant panda. They really live a leisurely life. They have their own kindergarten and their own good friends to play with. I saw foreign friends coming to visit, and they really like giant pandas.

The Wolong Giant Panda Reserve is a must-see, as it is the breeding base for the giant panda, a national treasure of the People's Republic of China. The adorable giant panda is not only a national treasure, but also a messenger of world friendship, deeply loved by people around the world.
A great scenic spot, not only there are many pandas, but also the scenery is great
It was a truly wonderful experience! However, it was not possible to take photos with the pandas because it was quite dangerous.
I followed the map and saw only pandas and the earthquake museum... Where were the pandas?
Wolong Giant Panda Museum. I originally thought that I could see pandas up close just like in a zoo. However, there were not many visitors here. However, the pandas were divided into several areas along the hillside, and the plank roads led down the mountain. The cute giant pandas were eating bamboo and strolling in their own halls as if no one was around, basking in the sun, and some would even walk to the corners and jump up.
The most interesting place is the panda kindergarten. The silly and clumsy little pandas climb the trees slowly, bask in the sun lazily, push and shove each other, and roll down the slope in circles. It is cute and fun.
Unforgettable memories. I'm not here for tourism, so I can't offer any good advice to tourists. I'm here to volunteer with the giant pandas. If you're interested in volunteering, I highly recommend it.
The surrounding scenery is nice, but other than that it's not much different from the Giant Panda Pavilion in Chengdu. It's not like the wild pandas I imagined.
I think it's worth a visit. There weren't many people, so there were no lines for tickets or photos. There were quite a few pandas, and we saw about 15 of them. The outer ring is for adult pandas, while the inner ring is for sub-adult pandas and the panda nursery. We went around 9:00 AM and finished around 12:00 PM. Since I love taking photos📷, I kept watching them. Some were doing somersaults, some were just sitting there, lost in thought, and some were even practicing "kung fu," which was really cute.
Since you are in Chengdu, how can you not see the national treasure giant panda, right? In addition to going to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, you can also see pandas in Wolong.
On January 17, 2018, our family returned to Chengdu from our trip to Mount Siguniang. We arrived at the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve and watched the national treasure up close. Liangzi was very happy; we were also very excited.
Wolong Nature Reserve is located near Gengda Township and Wolong Town in Wenchuan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and is a World Natural Heritage Site.
The nature reserve is divided into experimental area, core area and buffer zone. In fact, more beautiful scenery is located in the core area and experimental area. According to the "Nature Reserve Protection Law of the People's Republic of China", "no one may enter the core area and buffer zone without permission". Therefore, if you want to see the real beautiful scenery, you need to get approval first.
These places are often sparsely populated, with high mountains, colorful forests, snow-capped mountains, lakes, houses, and smoke from cooking fires, which are extremely beautiful.
Is it now possible to drive to the nature reserve? It was previously closed to the public due to the earthquake!
In October 2017, the expressway from Chengdu to Wolong Gengda was opened to traffic, and now it only takes 3 hours to drive there.
Don't mention the panda, it's not shy at all, awesome
Here are beautiful mountains and clear waters, beautiful scenery, and the habitat of panda babies.
Giant pandas are very cute and you can take your children there
I went there hoping to see a lot of pandas, but there were only a few, which was disappointing!
Wolong Nature Reserve is located in the southwest of Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
Public transportation: Take the Chengdu-Xiaojin or Chengdu-Wolong bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Station (fare is approximately 40 yuan). Alternatively, take a bus from Chengdu Chadianzi to Dujiangyan City (approximately 40 minutes, fare is approximately 15 yuan), then transfer to a bus from Dujiangyan to Wolong (approximately 2 hours, fare is approximately 25 yuan).
At the Wolong Wild Giant Panda Base, we saw neither giant pandas (tourists are prohibited from entering) nor bamboo forests covering the mountains. It was far from what we imagined a giant panda reserve to be like.
No matter what scenery you come here to see, you come here to see the giant pandas.
It's too far, so it's not convenient to go there. It's better to just visit Chengdu.
This place is not far from Chengdu and is definitely worth a visit.
Wolong Giant Panda Reserve, located on the road from Yingxiu to Siguniang Mountain, is an ideal habitat for giant pandas with high mountains and dense forests.
The giant pandas are cute, and there is also an interpreter that will tell you about the characteristics of the giant pandas in this area according to where you go.
The newly paved asphalt road opened to traffic at the end of June, making it a very easy drive. There are folk customs along the way, and if you're not picky about accommodation, there are plenty of options. I stayed in Wolong Town this time. Gengda has more newly built folk customs, but Wolong is quieter. It's the hometown of pandas, but the new panda base has moved to Gengda, and the free-range wild panda training base in Wolong is closed to the public. It's a great place to escape the summer heat, but there are sections along the road that are prone to landslides, so be careful of flying rocks.

After entering the park, each person will be given a receiver to listen to the park introduction. There are relatively few giant pandas, only two were seen.
The national treasure is a must-see! It's so cute!
By the way... when I went there, why did I only see males? Haha
The panda base in Wolong is said to be the largest panda base in the world.
The most attractive thing for me is that there are fewer people. I like the feeling that there are more pandas than people.
At the Chengdu panda base, you have to squeeze out a gap among ten thousand heads and take a photo while gasping for breath.
There is no need for that here, it is completely open to the public, you can see the pandas face to face, and there are not many tourists.
After the earthquake, the entire reconstruction was completed in 2015, and all the pandas that had been sent to other places were brought back.
Trust me, if you have the chance to see pandas, don’t miss Wolong. . . .
Inside the park, you can see four or five giant pandas, each with its own private yard, living a comfortable life. Some stroll around, others diligently graze on bamboo... Their fur may be a bit matted (pandas are susceptible to illness and generally don't bathe), but they're still innocent and adorable.
This is probably the best place to see pandas, but because it is far away, many people don't know it.
The arrowheads are very unique, the dishes are very good and the taste is also very good
I feel that if you go to Chengdu, you must visit the Panda Base, otherwise it would be like you have not been to Chengdu at all.
Have you ever seen a panda eating bamboo? Have you? These adorable pandas can peel their own bamboo shoots! It's just that cute.
Pandas are so cute that you can watch them all day without getting bored.
Looking at the cute giant pandas is a beautiful scenery.
It's common sense to see pandas when you go to Sichuan.
There are giant pandas everywhere. If you want to see panda babies, you should go to Chengdu.
You can see the national treasure panda, what are you waiting for? Go and see it now. You can take photos up close. You no longer have to see it on TV. Let's go now.
It's closed on Thursday, how unlucky is that!!!
There's nothing much to say, just for the cuteness, I have to give it a full five-star rating! There's no reason not to watch them.
Wolong, a giant panda reserve, was severely damaged on May 12, but has now recovered.
This is the hometown of giant pandas. Although you may not see them at their most carefree, don’t miss it if you pass by.
Seeing the pandas is a must when visiting Chengdu. It's crowded, but the park is also quite large. If you're not pressed for time, a slower pace is more enjoyable. It's a great attraction for children; you can learn a lot.
Very good very good very good very good very good very good
The pandas are no longer in Wolong Town, they have moved to Gengda. The town’s current feature is the panda house.
There are few people and it is quiet, so you can consider it as a place to eat during your trip.
Although not as modern as the Giant Panda Base in Chengdu, this one is a different kind of scenery.
Wolong is the hometown of giant pandas. Unfortunately, it was severely affected by the 2008 earthquake. As a result, the giant panda base was moved to Chengdu, which has a relatively flat terrain. Wolong's appeal has also declined. The road from Yingxiu toll station to Wolong is very bumpy. You can still see the earthquake. This is the only way to Balan Mountain, so it is at most a transit station.
The pandas have moved away, and a group of wild monkeys have arrived. They are standing in the middle of the road, blocking the way and asking for food. It is very dangerous. I hope everyone will not give food to them when passing by. If this habit is formed, it will be very dangerous.
The reserve is quite large, with a relatively large open area. The pandas in their cages look just like those in a typical zoo. They're lazy, nibbling on bamboo, just like in a typical zoo. The only difference is a notice on the cage: "Pandas are ferocious, keep out." It's a bit creepy. Unlike a zoo, the entire area is covered in tall bamboo. On the bamboo, pandas can be seen eating, drinking, and playing—a welcome change from their typically lazy state. This is what real pandas look like.
There are many cute pandas. If you don't want to spend money, you can see them on the roadside. They are resting in the summer.
Wolong is famous for its pandas. Unexpectedly, in this Wolong Nature Reserve, there are not only grasslands, pastures, mountains, and lakes, but also various rare animals and plants.
Zhuoxi Ranch is the closest place to Chengdu for viewing colorful forest hiking. It is located in the Wolong Nature Reserve in Aba, western Sichuan, at an altitude of 2,600-3,600 meters. It is a national nature reserve. The vertical altitude changes rapidly in the ranch area, and a large number of national rare wild animals live around the ranch.
October is the perfect time to see the vibrant forests of Wolong. With Xinduqiao, a photography paradise, in front and Guangwu Mountain, a mountain of enchanting red leaves, in the background, the vibrant forests of Wolong offer a subtle wonderland. Here, you'll find vast tracts of what the locals call "yellow pines." In late autumn, the golden pine forests blanket the mountains, creating a vibrant autumn scene that makes you want to get lost.
