Located in the central area of Greater Shangri-La Scenic Area, it is an important part of the world natural heritage "Three Parallel Rivers".
It is mainly composed of Bitahai, Shudu Lake and Militang subalpine pasture, and is one of the main tourist attractions in Shangri-La.
It has geological features, lakes and wetlands, forests and meadows, river valleys and streams, rare animals and plants, and the original ecological environment is well preserved.
Pudacuo is a paradise for photography enthusiasts. The scenery is particularly beautiful in spring and autumn, which are the best seasons to visit or take photos in Pudacuo.

My husband and I were wearing a lot of clothes. We were shivering in the morning waiting for the driver to pick us up at the gate of Dukezong. Although the weather in Shangri-La in February was still cold, my heart was purified again when I saw Shudu Lake. I only visited this scenic spot. The wooden plank road was built slowly and it was not tiring to walk. The whole journey was 3.3 kilometers. I met yaks and pigs, touched the pig arches, and secretly took pictures of squirrels. The lake and snow-capped mountains made my heart open. I guess the best time to visit is the end of August. Winter is still too cold.
I sincerely recommend Pudacuo to everyone, the scenery is so beautiful. Let me show you the big picture first. Some people say that Shangri-La is the pure land in the hearts of many people, and you must go there once in your life. Then Pudacuo is the pure land among the pure lands.
To enter the scenic area, you have to take the scenic area bus. Each bus will be equipped with a Zhuoma to explain the relevant content of the scenic area to you. In order to better protect the environment and better cultivate the environment, different areas in the scenic area will be open. We were very lucky this time. There are three unique routes. The first section of the hike is in the mountains. There are gravel roads all the way. Not many people choose this section, but I think it’s good to walk. The signboards of the scenic area are very clear, and there is no need to worry about getting lost (for the cultivation of the environment, you can’t get in the deep hinterland at all, and the scenic area has made simple fences). There are not many trees in this area, so it’s a little sunny and hot, so take off the big cotton jacket directly. The surrounding is the so-called alpine meadow, with plenty of oxygen, so breathe deeply.
The first section ends at a small waterfall. It takes about 1.5 hours to walk. The road is not easy to walk on. It is a gravel road. It is recommended that girls who wear high heels and want to look stylish should not choose this section. The next section, Shudu Lake, will be more suitable.
After the walk, just go to the nearby bus stop and wait for the bus to go to the next section of the hike.
The second section of the hiking route is around an important scenic spot in Pudacuo - Shudu Lake. This section of the road is quite easy to walk on, and it is all plank roads. The scenery on this section of the road is also the most beautiful, with a different view along the way, so this section of the road is super crowded. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the first pier. If you don't want to walk, you can choose to take a boat to cruise the lake. We didn't take the boat and continued walking.
There are little squirrels running around everywhere in the park.
Here I would like to urge everyone not to walk down the plank road. There are many staff members in the scenic area who will remind you at any time. Their attitude may be a bit tough, but you should also understand that because it is located in a plateau area, it is difficult to restore the vegetation after it is destroyed. Your foot may mean that your children will never see this pure land again. As I said before, travel in a civilized manner.
This ticket price is really infuriating. The ticket price of 138 yuan is tolerable, but the bus ticket price of 120 yuan is simply outrageous. It is a forced sale. How long can you take the bus? Pudacuo National Park is mainly divided into three major areas. The bus takes 20 minutes to Shudu Lake, then to Militang, and finally to Bitahai. Although the ticket is expensive, you can play as you like after getting off the bus. There is no rule that you must come back after taking 20 minutes of photos.
Now only the Shudu Lake is open, so the ticket only costs 130. In order to allow tourists to experience more of the landscape of Pudacuo, in addition to the original hiking route of the Shudu Lake wooden plank road, two new hiking routes have been opened. Because of our limited time, we only experienced the wooden plank road, which took 3-4 hours (excluding the time to go to Pudacuo).
I didn't want to rent a down jacket at first, but it was really cold in Pudacuo. I was shivering as soon as I got off the car, so I went to rent a down jacket. You can rent a down jacket without paying a 300 yuan deposit by showing your license plate, and it only costs 50 yuan per piece, so everyone must wear more clothes when you go there on this day.
Pudacuo is China's first national park, located 22 kilometers east of Shangri-La County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. "Pudacuo" means "divine help to reach the other side of the lake by boat" in Tibetan. The water and air quality of Pudacuo National Park meet the national first-class standards.
Pudacuo National Park has mirror-like alpine lakes, beautiful pastures with abundant grass, wetlands with blooming flowers, and dense primeval forests. The two beautiful freshwater lakes, Bitahai and Shudu Lake, are known as the pearls of the plateau. Every summer, the mountains are full of rhododendrons in full bloom; in autumn and winter, a large number of yellow ducks and other birds play by the lake, which is naturally interesting.
TIPS: The altitude here is quite high, so remember to breathe oxygen, walk slowly, and don't try to force yourself. However, I didn't feel uncomfortable after the hike, it depends on each person. It is very sunny, so remember to wear sunscreen. Although there is a lot of ice and snow, it is not actually very cold. There is a big temperature difference between day and night, and it will get colder in the evening after the sun sets (it will be below -10℃ at night in winter).
Recommended play time: half a day
Recommendation index: 5 stars [I like it! ]
The scenic area is equipped with a free shuttle bus that can drive directly to the entrance of the Shudu Lake hiking trail. Although it is a snowy winter, the scenery along the way is not monotonous. In addition to various vegetation, there are also yaks and horses.
The entire Shudu Lake hike is 3.3 km long and can be completed in three or four hours. The scenery along the way is basically lakes, mountains, trees, and animals. In winter, Shudu Lake is basically covered with snow and ice, which is a scenery I have never seen anywhere else.
I seem to understand why the government has to open and close certain areas here from time to time. Protecting the ecological environment here is the top priority. This is the home of many rare animals. We are just hurried travelers passing by and marveling at its beauty.
There are basically no forks in the road when hiking to Shudu Lake in Pudacuo, it is a straight single road, so you will never get lost. There are countless scenery along the way, the distance is not very long but the time spent on the way is really not short.
We walked along the lake, and besides the frozen lake, we could see many pine trees along the way (I guess?).
You can also see the "bearded forest" on the section of the Shudu Lake plank road. It is said that this is the only place where you can see it.
The further you go, the more you can see various snowfields and frozen lakes, and you can experience this world of ice and snow at a closer distance.
I woke up in the morning and heard that it was snowing, so I rushed out excitedly. However, there were only a few sparse snowflakes that were almost invisible, which made me a little disappointed. I saw on the Internet that Pudacuo National Park in winter seemed to be a wasteland, and the main attraction was only Shudu Lake, so I was not very excited. I had planned to see the magnificent picture of blue sky and white clouds reflected in the lake, which would have been worth the trip. But... I was stunned when I arrived at Pudacuo. I had never expected that there would be heavy snow and the sky would be full of snow, a scene of winter in the north. I could also see such a scene in Yunnan. It felt like I had been to Heilongjiang. I was filled with emotion and thanked God for giving me such a perfect trip to Shangri-La, with blue sky, white clouds and ice and snow. I had regretted not being able to see the sea of flowers in Shangri-La, but now it had completely disappeared. In the square of the ticket hall, I could see meter-sized snowflakes fluttering and dancing. For a child from the south, this was the first time to see such a scene. We took the scenic shuttle bus, which lasted about twenty minutes. The tires of the car were all put on anti-skid chains. The weather here is much colder than outside, and there was a thick layer of ice on the road. The farther the car drove, the heavier the snowflakes fell and the more snow accumulated. At a certain corner and at a certain moment, I excitedly wanted to get off the car. Can you imagine the feeling when you first saw the sky full of snow, with only mountains and the sun, but no sky or earth? I heard a rustling sound in the tree. It turned out to be a greedy little squirrel. It was the only one I saw during the whole trip. It is said that there will be a lot of little guys here in spring and summer. This one did not hibernate, but jumped around on the side. It might be hungry. I just bought melon seeds when I was at the first bend of the Yangtze River, which came in handy. The whole walk took an hour and a half. The ice and snow world was beautiful. When I was waiting for the shuttle bus to go back, I mistook the original ecological yak beef for an original ecological toilet. Haha, myopia is also very painful. It was almost noon when I went out. At this time, the sky had gradually cleared up. I don’t know if there was still snow at the entrance of the scenic area.
The scenery of Pudacuo in early April is actually quite monotonous. The grass has not fully grown, and the rhododendrons that would cover the mountains in May and June have not bloomed. But because of this, there are not many people.
We chose to walk the first and third sections of the scenic area, a total of 7.7 kilometers, and took the scenic area sightseeing bus for the second section. In total, we spent six hours in Pudacuo. On the way, we saw many animals that seemed to be isolated from the world from afar, and we couldn't help but reverence nature.
Pudacuo is a natural scenic spot with wild animals, squirrels running everywhere, and yaks occasionally appearing. There are several spots in it: Shudu Lake, Bita Lake, and Folk Village. Bita Lake is not open now, and the ecology is restored. I personally don’t think it’s necessary to go to the Folk Village, so I just went to Shudu Lake.
After entering the gate, we first took a half-hour scenic bus to a hiking entrance. We can choose to hike 3 kilometers to Shudu Lake, or continue to take the bus to Shudu Lake. We chose to get off the bus and hike. This way is simply integrated with nature. Walking on the mountain trails, there are all kinds of feces pulled by grazing cattle and horses along the way... Really original ecology... In fact, if Bita Lake reopens later, this hike can be avoided. There is no special scenery, and there are a lot of feces... After arriving at Shudu Lake, the first feeling is tranquility... The unique tranquility of the Tibetan area, blue sky and white clouds, mirror-like lake water, motionless like a sapphire. Then we walked half a circle around Shudu Lake along the wooden plank road to the pick-up point for the eco-friendly car. There were squirrels of all sizes along the way, not afraid of people, and they were so cute! From here, you can take a boat to the Folk Village on the opposite side of the lake (you can only take a boat from several docks of Shudu Lake, because the Folk Village is in a valley and there is no road). This is also a pick-up point, and you can continue to Bita Lake and return to Shudu Lake. Because Bita Lake is closed, you can only return and change to the scenic area bus at the entrance of Shudu Lake to return to the entrance of Pudacuo Park.
Although there was no blue sky and white clouds and the scenery was modest, the air was super good, clean and crisp. We all breathed in big gulps, enjoying the fresh air.
Five people walked to the right on the wooden plank road, and five yaks walked to the left below, each going their own way in an orderly manner. Their respective reflections in the lake formed a unique picture.
The ticket price for the scenic spot is ¥100 per person. Currently, for the sake of ecological protection, the other two scenic spots are temporarily closed and only Shudu Lake is open.
The air here is thin at an altitude of 3,625 meters. Different plants grow on this land, including centuries-old trees, dry branches and leaves, small stones that have been smoothed by the impact of streams, and small squirrels jumping up and down in the forest. You will be amazed by the magic and subtlety of nature.
After entering the scenic area, you can choose to take a sightseeing bus or hike. If your physical condition allows, it is recommended to choose hiking. The round-trip route is different, so if you choose to hike, you have to complete this journey before there is a return bus.
Because the hiking route is relatively long, nearly three hours, be sure to bring your own snacks and enough water. There is a canteen in the scenic area, and of course the prices will be higher.
During the hike, you must pay attention to breathing oxygen and replenishing water regularly. Perhaps hiking can help you see more different scenery. Being in the embrace of nature, you suddenly feel very small.
Arriving at the entrance of Pudacuo National Park,
The wind was strong and there were many black birds fighting for food.
The friends entered the scenic area.
The quiet lake, the gentle afternoon sunshine,
The grass began to turn yellow after the flowers had fallen.
There is no summer flower pasture,
No herdsmen humming childhood songs,
There are no clouds floating in the sky,
Only the affectionate Shudu Lake remains.
Pudacuo is basically a tourist attraction that everyone who comes to Shangri-La will visit. It is near the county town and in the same direction as Baishuitai. So the two places can be connected for fun. It takes 4-5 hours to walk the plank road in Pudacuo, and about 2 hours in Baishuitai. Pudacuo is the most beautiful: in mid-to-late September, the forests are dyed with colors, the yellow-green meadows are still thick and not withered, and the sky is blue and white clouds. The season worth watching Pudacuo is from mid-to-late May to the end of October. Different flowers bloom every month, and they are green. In November, the meadow turns yellow and the scenery is not so good. But in winter, it snows generally from January to March, there are few people, and the scenery is also beautiful. Some people feel that Pudacuo is a place where flowers bloom, but in winter, it snows like a fairy tale kingdom. What is a bit disappointing is that in autumn, winter and spring, the grass in Pudacuo is not green, the snow does not fall, and walking on the plank road does not feel so good. Whether it is blue sky and white clouds or cloudy and foggy, there is always a little beauty. If people are not uncomfortable and can't walk, oxygen inhalation is not recommended.
There are many ways to go to Pudacuo. You can charter a car or take a bus at the bus station. We chose to buy a ticket + round-trip bus package at the tourist center next to Moonlight Square for 130 yuan per person. It is safe and convenient.
Because it is the off-season, there is no need to make reservations a day in advance. There are two buses every day at 9:00 and 9:30, and the return time is about 3 or 4 pm.
Since only the Shudu Lake Scenic Area is open in Pudacuo at this time, there is enough time for sightseeing.
Only Shudu Lake is open at this time. You can choose to take a boat or hike. There are many combinations. Boat rides require an additional fee.
I chose to go there by boat and walk back on foot. I walked on the plank road. Along the way, there were many little squirrels that were not afraid of people and Tibetan pigs that were as nimble as dogs. The altitude is still a little high, so you can walk slower. The wind along the lake is very strong, so you need to wear a scarf.
It takes an hour to drive to Pudacuo. Unfortunately, due to management, only Shudu Lake is open to the public among the three scenic spots.
The eco-friendly bus will stop at two stations, each with a hiking route. The first is a 2.2km hike along the forest of Shudugang River, and the second is a 3.3km hike along the shore of Shudu Lake. We walked both routes. I heard from others that you can see many animals and it is worth coming, but maybe because only Shudu Lake was open at that time, I only saw yaks, Tibetan pigs and squirrels, and Pudacuo was not colorful in this season, so it did not meet my expectations. But it doesn't matter, the mood of travel is the most important.
There are three scenic spots in Pudacuo. Only Shudu Lake is open in the off-season. The ticket only costs 100 yuan.
First go to the waiting hall to take the shuttle bus. After waiting for about 20 minutes, you can get on the bus. In the off-season, the bus runs every 20 minutes and there are relatively few people. There is a tour guide on the bus to explain the scenic spot travel guide, which is good for people who are too lazy to plan their route.
It took about ten minutes to reach the first drop-off point. You can hike in the primeval forest for an hour to the next station. The animals here are very free and unattended. I saw several yaks.
After walking for about an hour, we arrived at a bus stop to Shudu Lake. After another ten minutes, we finally reached the core scenic area at the end and officially started our hike. The mountains and plains were full of yaks.
Pudacuo is still worth visiting because the down jacket I brought was red. Before entering, the tour guide joked that we should stay away from the yaks, otherwise they would be chased.
The most regrettable thing is that the open hiking routes are all around Shudu Lake and Bita Lake, although they are also beautiful. But after seeing Erhai Lake and Blue Moon Valley in the past few days, I am more attracted by the forest meadows and geological features that the tour bus passes by.
There are three hiking trails in the park, but only two were open when we went there. We walked the Shudu Lake section, which was about 3 kilometers long. After the walk, I found that I envied the photographers who took pictures of the scenery all year round. Although it was hard work, it was definitely worth it!
It started to rain when we arrived at Pudacuo. The weather in Yunnan is changeable. You should bring an umbrella or raincoat when you go out. Pudacuo has some scenic spots open. The scenic area is very large. You need to take a bus from the ticket office to the scenic area. You need to transfer to a yacht while walking around. There are free and paid ones. One afternoon is equivalent to a circle around the lake. There are some forest trails, so you need to wear non-slip shoes. There is also a glass hanging chair for taking pictures by the lake. It costs 10 yuan per person. You can line up by yourself or let them take pictures. If they take pictures, they charge 10 yuan per photo. There is a traveler who does wedding photography. The scenery is good. We took pictures until the camera ran out of battery.
Including Shudu Lake, Bitahai, and Folk Ecological Cultural Village. Now, due to recuperation, the latter two are gone, leaving only Shudu Lake as a scenic spot. The ticket price has changed from 258 yuan to 100 yuan. In order to increase the fun of tourists, two hiking routes near Shudu Lake have been added since July 15, 2018. One is called the Shudugang River Hiking Route, with a total length of 2.2 kilometers. One is called the Nomadic Cultural Ecological Hiking Route, with a total length of 3 kilometers. Together with the original Shudu Lake Lakeside Wooden Plank Road Hiking Route, with a total length of 3.3 kilometers, there are a total of 3 hiking routes. My wife and I were walking and playing, so the first Shudugang River hike took 1 and a half hours. If you don’t take many photos, you can still get it done within 1 hour. The scenery is relatively general. It may be because the road is newly opened that few people walk on it. At that time, only the two of us came down to hike, and the others continued to take the car to the starting point of the Shudu Lake plank road. After hiking this road, you will continue to take a car to the starting point of the wooden plank road. The wooden plank road around the lake is the most essential section of Shudu Lake. 90% of people will get off the car and hike, and few people take a car directly to the end of Shudu Lake. The plank road is 3.3 kilometers long, and the slow walking time is more than 2 hours, which is longer than I expected. In fact, regarding Pudacuo, when I watched "My Lucky Star", one of the exterior scenes was shot in the autumn of Pudacuo, which is very beautiful. We did not go to the third hiking route. If you want to go, you can take a boat at the end of the plank road to Pier 4, which is free. If you do not continue to hike on the third route, you can choose to take a car back, or you can choose to continue the tour by boat. The tour guide will give a detailed explanation on the method and charge of taking the boat on the bus.
Currently, only one scenic spot is open in the park: Shudu Lake. Other scenic spots are closed for ecological protection. Tickets are 100 yuan/person, including the bus in the scenic area. It was foggy in Pudacuo early in the morning, and the mist was like a fairyland. Shudu Lake is super beautiful, and it doesn't need any filters to be beautiful. There are many little squirrels in Pudacuo. They are not afraid of people at all. They will run to tourists to ask for food, and even climb up your trouser legs to your shoulders. They are not polite. The little guys will happily eat delicious food in front of you. They are super cute.
Although I read in the guide before coming that two scenic spots have been changed for ecological restoration, I am still looking forward to Pudacuo and Pudacuo after entering late autumn. Bitahai and Shudu Lake, two beautiful freshwater ambers, are the most beautiful places in the scenic area, but Bitahai is closed, so you can only go to Shudu Lake. Enter the scenic area, take a bus to the wooden plank road entrance of Shudu Lake, and walk along the wooden plank road. The general altitude here is 3500 to 4000. There are mirror-like alpine lakes, beautiful pastures with abundant grass, and wetlands full of autumn in the scenic area. It is a paradise for animals and plants. In late autumn, the altitude is very high, and the temperature in the scenic area is very low. You must wear thicker clothes and pay attention to whether your body has altitude sickness. It is also the off-season of the scenic area. You can't see many people at this time, and it is relatively quiet. Pudacuo Scenic Area is really big, but the development of the scenic area has not damaged the environment, and does not disturb the animals and plants living here. People and nature live in harmony, allowing green waters and green mountains to last forever. There are many national forest parks. These are the beautiful mountains and rivers of the motherland. They are our eternal habitat. Living here is a happy thing. The birds here are really rich and colorful. They shuttle through the woods, and there are many eagles circling in the sky. There are really many squirrels in the scenic area. The facts tell us not to feed them easily, which will destroy their own survival ability and make it difficult for them and their offspring to survive here. The colors of autumn are always very strong, just like God overturned the paint box. When I came to Pudacuo, I didn’t see the higher altitude Bitahai, which left some regrets, but it was just Shudu Lake that gave us too many surprises. We can see all kinds of vegetation growing intertwined, the mirror-like lake water, and all kinds of small animals. Pudacuo has become very beautiful. If I have the opportunity, I must come again to take a good look at Bitahai and the most beautiful Pudacuo.
Pudacuo is mainly composed of Bita Lake and Shudu Lake, with an altitude of 3,500 to 4,159 meters. It is an important part of the "Three Parallel Rivers" scenic area. The park has geological features, lakes and wetlands, forest meadows, river valleys and streams, rare animals and plants, and the original ecological environment is well preserved.
Pudacuo National Park is one of the most famous attractions in Shangri-La. As our first visit to Shangri-La, we should also go and see it. It is an important part of the "Three Parallel Rivers" scenic area, with lakes and wetlands, forest meadows, river valleys and streams, rare animals and plants, etc. The former Pudacuo National Park consisted of three major attractions, two lakes and a meadow. However, due to environmental protection considerations, only the Shudu Lake area is currently open.
Compared to Yubeng, everything in Pudacuo seems a little lacking in vitality. Although it is also close to the mountains and rivers and it is also raining, I don’t know why it is a little dry.
But since we are here, let’s take a look around.
The noobs who were beaten like dogs in Yubeng were able to rise above the ordinary people. Compared with the people next to us who had to breathe oxygen on their first day visiting Pudacuo, we walked briskly without any pressure.
Currently, only the Shudu Lake scenic area is open in Pudacuo, so it takes less than an hour to walk there, and it is basically just a walk after dinner.
Pudacuo National Park
Pudacuo National Park, with an altitude of 3500-4159 meters, has alpine meadows, lake wetlands, pasture forests. The entire national park is composed of three main attractions, Shudu Lake, Militang and Bitahai. Now except Shudu Lake, all others are closed to the public. It is a place you would regret not visiting, and you would regret even more if you come. It is just an ordinary forest park without any characteristics.

My Yunnan Travel Notes: I am waiting for the wind to come here - Yunnan Lijiang / Lugu Lake / Shangri-La Travel Notes http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/17066239.html
Pudacuo National Park originally had three main scenic spots - Shudu Lake, Bita Lake and Militang. However, in order to protect a rare fish, two of them are currently closed, leaving only Shudu Lake open. Accordingly, the ticket price has also been reduced to 100 yuan.
In order to enrich the travel experience of tourists, Pudacuo has opened two more hiking routes since 2018. Therefore, tourists can currently enjoy the following three routes (there are many staff at the entrance of Pudacuo Park, and there are staff standing next to the scenic map who are constantly explaining the characteristics and distances of these three routes to passing tourists. Friends who are really confused about the hiking routes can directly go to the entrance to ask the staff):
1. Rongluo Village
2. Shudu Lake Plank Road (key attraction, must visit)
3. Tibetan Culture Experience Hiking Route
The first Rongluo Village hiking route is in the woods. I didn’t go there so I can’t comment on it.
The second one, Shudu Lake Plank Road, is the most classic plank road. If you go to Pudacuo, you must go to this hiking route. We walked while taking pictures for about two hours. This hiking route is built along the south bank of Shudu Lake, which is basically equivalent to walking half of Shudu Lake. The whole plank road is a flat wooden plank road, which is very flat. When tourists reach the end of the plank road, they can take a bus directly back to the gate of the scenic area. You can also take a free cruise to the north bank of Shudu Lake, which is the starting point of the third hiking route.
The third route, the Tibetan culture experience hiking route, is along the north shore of Shudu Lake. This section of the route is almost half of Shudu Lake, which is equivalent to going around the north shore of Shudu Lake and returning to the starting point of the second hiking route, Shudu Lake Plank Road. There are some Tibetan tents at the starting point of this section, and they sell food. You can have lunch here. The third hiking route is a hiking route that has not been developed much. Some roads are dirt roads, and some muddy places are paved with wooden strips. Although this route is around Shudu Lake, because the trees along the coast have not been cut down, the view in many places is blocked by trees, which feels a bit like a primeval forest. Although this road is about the same length as the second road, it is more difficult to walk, so the hiking time will be a little longer.
Pudacuo is mainly composed of Bita Lake and Shudu Lake. It is a provincial nature reserve and an important part of the "Three Parallel Rivers" scenic spot. Pudacuo Park has geological features, lakes and wetlands, forest meadows, river valleys and streams, rare animals and plants, etc. What is even more valuable is that the original ecological environment of Pudacuo is well preserved.
From August 17, 2017, the ecological protection achievement display corridor from the end of Bita Lake to the Lotus Holy Spring was completely closed and stopped receiving tourists. In order to allow tourists to experience more of the landscape of Pudacuo, in addition to the original hiking route of the Shudu Lake wooden plank road, a new hiking route was opened, which belongs to the Dugang River Ecological Hiking Experience Area
The scenery is greatly affected by the weather. I encountered a rainy day, and the distant mountains and clouds were relatively dark, which was very different from the promotional pictures. It was a bit regrettable. Occasionally, there would be one or two black pigs and yaks on the grass, leisurely looking for food. When you walk to the forest part, you will also see squirrels jumping around. In general, the scenery is still pretty good, but it is best to come on a sunny day.
We arrived at Pudacuo on August 17. The sun was strong. It was hot to wear short sleeves and hot to wear long sleeves. It was hot in the sun and cool in the shade. This is the summer in Diqing. The clouds were high and the sky was blue, which can describe this beautiful place. Along the plank road, you can drink some Vineng. If you are worried, bring a bottle of oxygen and a bottle of water, which is enough for the road. There are many butter flowers here, also called ox tongue grass. There are large patches of yellow flowers, which are a bit like rape flowers, but not as tall as rape flowers. The leaves are larger, and the mature plants should be 30-40 cm. There are also large patches of small wild flowers. There are also rhododendrons on the roadside. When we went there, the flowering period was over, and the sea of rhododendrons should be spectacular. Pudacuo is still worth a visit. It is recommended to walk the whole way, not just the 1.5 hours of the trestle bridge, which is about 3 kilometers. You can get off from the first stop and walk, and you will see more scenery.
Pudacuo is really worth a visit. The scenery is so beautiful that it doesn't need any filters. If you go there when the weather is good, you can take a lot of great photos. I think it is not inferior to Erhai Lake and Lugu Lake.
Pudacuo National Forest Park in winter has a different kind of beauty. Although there are no flowers like in spring and summer, it has a unique sense of tranquility. Plank roads, verdant greenery, ice, snow, squirrels, leisurely cows...
Pudacuo National Forest Park covers a large area. For environmental protection, only Shudu Lake is open for sightseeing. The altitude is high and the temperature is low, so you should take measures to keep warm. There is a convenient straight road around the lake with clear signs and charming scenery. It is a pure natural ecological environment, suitable for photography. The lake surface reflects light, and the sky and lake merge in the sun. Cows and horses take a leisurely stroll, and the breeze blows gently, making you feel happy.
It is not recommended to come in autumn and winter. It is best to come in summer. Just walk the plank road in Hubei. There is nothing special.
The autumn colors are so beautiful! I don't know what it's like in spring, but I heard there are a sea of azaleas and you can see azalea drunkards.
When I went there, two scenic spots in the scenic area were closed, leaving only Shudu Lake open, but it was still very beautiful and I want to come again next time.
Pudacuo National Park, which consists mainly of Bitahai, Shudu Lake and Militang sub-plateau pasture, is one of the main scenic spots for tourism in Shangri-La.
A pleasant parent-child hiking trip, with little squirrels in the woods, horses and cows by the lake, and clear skies.
When I went there on May Day this year, only Shudu Lake was open, which was about one-third of the scenic area, and the rest of the area was being restored.
Pudacuo National Park has geological features, lakes and wetlands, forest meadows, river valleys and streams, rare animals and plants.
This should be the most beautiful place in Shangri-La. The Shudu Lake is as smooth as a mirror, with green mountains reflected in it, creating a poetic and picturesque scene.
In summer, it is known as "half lake green mountains and half lake water", while in winter, it is like standing on the edge of the mirror of the world, with running clouds reflected on the lake and blending with the snow.
Arrived on April 14th, the scenery was still desolate, it was really not nice without green. It was too monotonous! Later it was snowing and icing! Yes! Rain, strong wind, mixed with small ice particles. It was so sad. I had too high expectations, so I was disappointed! It would be better to come in August!
The highest altitude of Pudacuo Park is more than 4,000 meters. It is very cold on the mountain and you need to wear thick down jackets. There was a lot of fog in the morning, like a fairyland. When the fog dissipated, it was another scenery, a natural oxygen bar.
There are very few people in winter, and it is really big inside. The beauty of the lake and the mountains is intoxicating. I highly recommend this place. It can be said to be a forest oxygen bar, so if you are physically fit, you can save the oxygen cylinders at the entrance of the scenic area. It is okay if you slow down. In addition, you need to prepare some food, because it is cold and icy, and mineral water is not sold. I experienced hunger and cold again.
😱ི😱ི😱ིIt's a pit, don't go there in the off-season.
100 yuan for the ticket and 60 yuan for the bus ticket. Compared with the ticket price, the scenery is really nothing special, the wind is strong and the weather is cold. The most important thing is the lack of service awareness. The service level and attitude of the service staff are very average. After tasting the benefits of making money, everything is moving forward. What is faith?
After visiting the scenic spots, I waited for the return bus for 30 minutes. When the bus came, the driver didn't know where to go, so I waited in the bus for another 20 minutes. The driver came late. Finally left this place!
The camera cannot record the complete beauty, you have to see it with your own eyes. In Tibetan, "Puda" means boat, and "cuo" means salvation. It is a very poetic place. I thought I would have altitude sickness, but it was okay in Pudacuo. There are more green plants here, and it is an oxygen-rich area. If you are worried about your health, you can buy oxygen tanks there, which are a little expensive.
I have to say that the parking fee here is really cheap, only two dollars an hour.
There are almost no people in the entire scenic area. Due to a document issued by the state, in order to protect the precious wild animals and ecological environment in Pudacuo, the core scenic spot Bitahai has been closed since September 2017, so the only place you can visit now is the Shudu Lake Scenic Area.
During the break, you will find many little squirrels on the roadside. They are not afraid of people at all and will climb onto your schoolbag and body. I don’t know if it’s because there are not enough pine cones in the scenic area, but they all look at you pitifully, hoping that you will share some delicious food with them. So I spent a long time playing with the little squirrels.
In general, the ecological environment here is still very well protected. I have been to so many forest parks, but only here are there squirrels everywhere. They are really cute.
I really recommend giving Pudacuo more time to walk around slowly. We walked for several hours inside. If you come with a group, it seems that you will only be given more than an hour, and you can only walk a little bit of the plank road. (It feels like n groups passed by me)
The weather was OK when we went there. It was still raining on the way, but it started to clear up when we arrived. I felt that I was really lucky. The scenery is still very beautiful, but it is too big, otherwise it is still great to walk around by yourself. I came here for the cuckoo drunk fish, but it was a little regretful
I heard many locals say that we opened the wrong season. But every season in Shangri-La has its own beauty. The vastness, snow and grassland, dead trees and lakes have their own flavor.
Pudacuo National Park is the main scenic spot in Shangri-La. The scenic spot is very large. To enter the scenic spot, you need to take the scenic bus to the core scenic spot of the scenic spot, Shudu Lake.
When I arrived at Pudacuo, it seemed that I was the only one there. Perhaps it was already 3:30 in the afternoon, and most of the tourists had already dispersed. Most people came to Shangri-La to see the sea of flowers, not the ice and snow.
I arrived at the entrance of the plank road alone, at my own will, in my own car. Because two scenic spots were closed for non-park reasons, only the Shudu Lake scenic area was open. The entire plank road is 3,500 meters long and can be completed in just over an hour, so it is not very strenuous.
Although there is less green, there is more beauty. There are fewer pedestrians at dusk, and the mountains are deep in the wind and snow.
The beauty of winter, different scenery, nothing wrong with it, except that it’s cold!
I felt like I had to walk for 2 hours. It is said that some people can see grizzly bears, but I still doubt it. The scenery along the way is very good.
The natural scenery is beautiful, and there is no major problem except that it is a bit cold in winter.
There are no spring flowers blooming all over the mountains, but only withered vines, old trees and crows. There are no bridges, flowing water or houses. It looks desolate. We said that we would come again when spring comes and flowers bloom.
I heard that the best seasons for the scenery of Pudacuo National Park are March and May, but I don’t have a comparison. I think November is pretty good. However, compared with Lugu Lake, the scenery in this month is still more beautiful.
If you want to experience the beauty of Shangri-La, you must go to Pudacuo National Forest Park, breathe the fresh air, look at the grasslands on the plateau and the clear Shudu Lake. The beauty here is a simple beauty, a beauty of a pure soul.
If the Sea Tongue Park is the world of spiders, then Pudacuo is definitely the world of squirrels, which can be seen everywhere.
Pudacuo is definitely recommended to go in summer. There are two hiking routes: 1. The original ecological hiking route from the small halfway point to the halfway point, a total of 2.2 kilometers, and 2. The plank road around Shudu Lake on the top of the mountain, a total of 3.3 kilometers. If you go in summer, you must choose the 2.2-kilometer plank road, which is really beautiful, with flowers on the left and mountain springs on the right. In winter, it is better to choose the 3.3-kilometer plank road around the lake! You can also choose to take a boat to the top of the mountain. It takes about 20 minutes to take the scenic bus back to the gate.
Pudacuo National Forest Park is the first national park established by the Chinese government. It is about 3,500 meters above sea level, with the highest altitude of about 4,200 meters. The scenery here is really beautiful, and the park area is also of the first-class scale. It is difficult to find such a primeval forest now. The only drawback is that the sightseeing bus drives very fast in the park. I think the drivers probably think of themselves as drivers. The entire scenic area is basically composed of three parts, Shudu Lake, Militang and Bitahai. The sightseeing bus will stop tourists at these three stations respectively.
You can visit Pudacuo by foot or by boat. If you walk on the plank road quickly, it will take about 40 to 50 minutes. It is not tiring. I entered the park in the afternoon. The weather was average. The sun was sometimes there and sometimes not. I felt it was average. It was not amazing. I saw squirrels and Tibetan pigs on the road. Because I left something behind, I went to the park early the next morning to look for it, but I didn't find it. The attitude of the staff was still very good. I really hope that the person who picked it up will give it to the staff, but no one did. However, the scenery in the early morning is more beautiful than in the afternoon, before the water vapor on the lake dissipates. (If you have time, you can go there. If you are in a hurry, you can give up.)
The scenery is amazing, and there are many little squirrels. It's worth the trip. Walking on the wooden plank road and looking at both sides, it seems like a fairyland.
Pudacuo is really beautiful, but just to walk around it, you have to walk a lot and it is really tiring.
It should be more beautiful in autumn. I went there early, the leaves were not yet yellow, and the weather was not good that day. But it was still beautiful.
The ticket price for Pudacuo is 60 yuan for the entrance ticket + 75 yuan for the sightseeing bus. The sightseeing bus does not enjoy the half-price discount for student cards, so the total ticket value with a student card is 105 yuan.
There are three sightseeing routes in Pudacuo National Park. The tour guide will give you a detailed introduction on the chartered bus entering the site.
Generally speaking, the tour takes 4-5 hours, combining hiking and boating.
There is only one lake left, the others are closed. The water is not as beautiful as Lugu Lake, so don't expect too much!
Don't come to Pudacuo anymore. To protect the ecological environment, only one scenic spot is closed. All the scenic spots with good views are closed, leaving only the worst one. If I had known, I would not come here.
You are not allowed to drive into the park. You must buy a ticket and take a bus. From the parking lot to the ticket gate, you must pass through a section of stalls selling things. This is the unspoken rule of the scenic spot. I am not surprised. But this is the first time I have seen such enthusiastic sellers. I almost stuffed the yak beef bun into my husband's mouth.
Since the altitude here is over 3600, please walk with caution if you have altitude sickness. Pudacuo consists of three scenic spots, two of which are closed for maintenance, so only Shudu Lake is open now. However, in order to take care of the tourists' experience, the scenic spot has specially opened two new hiking routes. You can get off the car after entering the gate and walk a 2.2km streamside walking path by yourself. It is relatively flat. We took this route and it took about an hour. It was very pleasant to take photos and walk. The autumn scenery is also colorful.
There are Tibetan pigs and squirrels here, and they are not afraid of people. We also brought bread to feed the pigs. The piglets are very smart and can stand up to ask for food. The scenery along this road is very beautiful. Don't just remember to walk forward, but look back. The scenery has different feelings from different angles. The woods are full of mosses. It was the first time for me to see many high-altitude plants, and I was very excited.
I went there with my friends in the fall. The scenery was beautiful. The air on the top of the mountain was a bit thin. It is recommended to buy oxygen bottles at the entrance to prevent altitude sickness.
Currently, only the Shudu Lake Scenic Area is open for tours, and the ticket price is 100 yuan. After entering the scenic spot, the bus will take you to the Shudu Lake Scenic Area. There are three ways to view the scenery. The first is to follow the bus to see it roughly, the second is to walk on the bridge over the lake, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to play, and the third is to go about 500 meters forward and take a cruise to view the scenery.
A primitive wetland forest protected by the state. Boring? Boring, a wooden plank road, a lake, a forest, that's all! Interesting? Interesting, a wooden plank road, a lake, a forest, beautiful beyond words! It was really cold. When I first entered the park, I could see the general scenery at a glance. I felt very bored. It was not fun at all. There was only a plank road and a lake. Boring! Slowly, I met many little squirrels on the road. It was also because of the little squirrels that I began to integrate into this scenery. Suddenly I found that the air was so good, the sky was so blue, and the lake was so clear. It was so beautiful! Walking quietly in this forest, a plank road, a lake, so beautiful! Such a beautiful environment is really enough to cleanse a person's soul.
Pudacuo only has one scenic spot, Shudu Lake, open to the public. There is a nearly nine-kilometer hiking distance in this scenic spot alone, and we walked for six hours. Pudacuo has the natural scenery that I love the most, simple and pure, it is so casually laid out in front of me, a flower, a grass, a stream, a lake, without a trace of artificiality. Pudacuo is really a beautiful place at every step, and I took a lot of pictures.
Pudacuo National Park has all the elements of plateau scenery, such as alpine meadows, lakes and wetlands, forest pastures, etc. It is the core essence of Shangri-La. If you come to Shangri-La and don't visit Pudacuo, it's like a wasted trip.
Pudacuo is located about 20 kilometers east of the city, but the transportation is inconvenient. In addition to a small number of shuttle buses, you can only charter a car or drive yourself to get there. It costs more than 300 yuan a day to drive yourself, and 150-200 yuan to charter a car. Due to environmental factors, the main attractions in it have been reduced from three to one: Shudu Lake. However, two more hiking routes have been added. The ticket price for the scenic spot has also been reduced from the original 258 yuan to 100 yuan. Therefore, the price-performance ratio is relatively good.
The scenery is beautiful, the air is fresh, the sunshine is bright, and the water and sky are one color, as if you are in the legendary paradise on earth.
Pudacuo National Park covers a large area. I went there at the end of September. The Bitahai Scenic Area was under maintenance and I couldn’t go there, which was a pity because Bitahai is very beautiful. Of the two hiking routes, we chose the one around Shudu Lake. The scenery is really beautiful, like walking in a painting. Hiking along the wooden plank road of Shudu Lake, there were many little squirrels along the way. They were not afraid of people at all, chasing and playing on the grass and trees by the roadside. I am personally more accustomed to scenic spots with good ecological environment, which do not have any commercial atmosphere. I will go there again after Bitahai reopens!
