Located in Yiling District, Yichang Bailihuang Scenic Area is a unique alpine grassland tourist destination in the Three Gorges region. It earned its name in ancient times because its uninhabited area, covering a radius of 100 miles, was uninhabited. Unlike the grasslands of northern China, the area's rolling grasslands, vast expanses of Huashan pine forests, canyons blanketed in red maple leaves, herds of cattle and sheep, and the refreshing, cool air create a classic grassland scene: "vast skies, boundless wilderness, and the wind blowing the grass low to reveal cattle and sheep."
The TV series "Under the Hawthorn Tree" was filmed here, telling the "purest love story in history", attracting "hawthorn fans" from home and abroad to explore the "love tree", appreciate the "love flower", taste the "love fruit" and experience the "pure love journey".
Yichang Bailihuang Ecological Tourism Area has a mid-subtropical monsoon humid climate with distinct four seasons, mild climate, abundant sunshine, moderate rainfall, and is characterized by late spring, cool summer, early autumn and cold winter.
In addition to sightseeing and summer vacation, supporting activities include: farm meals, horseback riding, grass skiing, archery, tents, yurts, hotels, bonfires, roasted whole lamb, etc. Bailihuang is characterized by its "grassland scenery and natural desolation" and is the most original tourist area unique to the Three Gorges region.
