Pedicabs after concert at Tabernacle

We are going to a concert at the Tabernacle and we are looking to change our reservations from Embassy Suites to either the American or the Hampton to be closer to Tabernacle. (I’ve looked and neither one has great recent reviews) What about the AC Marriott? Are there pedicabs after the concerts at Tabernacle? We just worry about safety walking back. Also is there another hotel that you would reccomend?

If you’re attending a concert at the Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta, staying nearby is definitely convenient for post-concert logistics. The area immediately surrounding the Tabernacle is generally active at night due to concerts and other events, but like any downtown area, it’s wise to be cautious, especially late at night.

Pedicab Options

Pedicabs are sometimes available after events at the Tabernacle, but availability is inconsistent and they are not guaranteed, especially later in the evening. They can be a fun option, but you shouldn’t rely solely on them for guaranteed transportation back to your hotel.

Hotel Considerations

  • AC Marriott: This is a solid choice for proximity to the Tabernacle, with modern rooms and better reviews than the American or Hampton. Being closer reduces the risk of a long walk after the concert.
  • American or Hampton: These are within walking distance, but as you noted, recent reviews are mixed. If you prioritize walking distance, they could work, but check for recent renovation updates and reviews.
  • Other Nearby Hotels: Consider the Kimpton Sylvan or the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Both are slightly farther than the AC Marriott but offer more upscale amenities and good safety records.

Safety Tips

  • Walking immediately after concerts is generally okay, especially in groups, but stick to well-lit streets.
  • If you have concerns, rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft are widely available in downtown Atlanta and provide a more controlled option than waiting for pedicabs.
  • Plan your pickup spot in advance; many rideshare drivers prefer specific loading zones near the venue to avoid traffic delays.

In summary, if your priority is safety and convenience, the AC Marriott is likely the best option. Pedicabs can be fun if available, but plan on using rideshare as a backup, particularly for late-night returns. Other hotels with strong reputations like the Kimpton or Hyatt Regency offer added comfort and peace of mind, even if it’s a slightly longer walk.
