If I'm staying at one of the cheapie hotels at Airport South that offers a shuttle service, and I want to get into the city, what's the best way? How long will it take me to walk from the shuttle drop-off point (I assume all the shuttles drop off at roughyl the same spot?) to the airport red/gold line station?
Is there a better way to get from that cluster of hotels (I'm looking at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Atlanta Airport South) via public transport into the city centre?
Thanks!
If you're staying at a hotel in the Airport South area like the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Atlanta Airport South, and you want to get into downtown Atlanta using public transport, here's the best way to do it:
Walking to the MARTA Station:
The MARTA station at the airport is easily accessible from the hotels in the Airport South cluster. Most airport hotels that offer shuttle service drop off passengers at the same location, which is the main terminal entrance of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Once you're dropped off, the airport’s MARTA station (which serves both the Red and Gold lines) is located directly under the terminal. The walk from the hotel shuttle drop-off to the MARTA station should take you around 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the hotel’s location and how much walking you have to do inside the terminal.
Alternative Public Transport Options:
If you prefer not to walk, or if the weather is poor, you have a few other options:
Taking MARTA into the City:
Once you’re at the MARTA station inside the airport terminal, you’ll have quick access to both the Red and Gold lines, which go directly into downtown Atlanta. The ride to downtown typically takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on your specific destination.
Other Considerations:
Overall, the best and most efficient way to get from the Airport South area to downtown Atlanta is to walk to the MARTA station and take the Red or Gold Line. It’s a quick, easy, and affordable way to get into the city center.
