Hi everyone.
St. Louis has always been on my list of to-go places and Si just might be able to do a quick weekend trip in October 🤞🏻.
The ballet is doing Balanchine's Western Symphony, which I'd love to see. It's on at the Touhill performing arts center.
I'm still working on flights and am looking at accommodations. I'd like to be near the park and the metro link, as the zoo and the riverfront are on my list.
What's the weather like mid October? I'm used to changing seasons like NYC and DC so know to pack for anything.
Checking out Air B and B's near the park, around the Forest Park-DeBaliviere. Is that a good area? It will just be two nights, I can't spare longer (other commitments) but I'm going to get in as much as I can if it all falls
together.
Thanks for any input!
Mid-October is a lovely time to visit St. Louis. The fall foliage is starting to appear, and the weather is generally mild, though variable. You can expect daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 70s °F (around 18–22°C) and cooler evenings in the 50s °F (10–14°C). A light jacket or layers are recommended, and it’s always good to have an umbrella or raincoat just in case, as occasional rain showers can occur.
Accommodations and Location:
Staying near Forest Park and the DeBaliviere area is an excellent choice. This neighborhood is safe, walkable, and very convenient for accessing both the park and the MetroLink. Forest Park is home to many attractions, including the Saint Louis Zoo, the Art Museum, the Science Center, and the Muny theater. Being near the MetroLink also allows you easy access to downtown St. Louis and the riverfront, where you can visit the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse.
