Cardinals game

Planning to go to my first game in June again the Royals . Any tips ? Haven’t been to a MLB game in years.

Are most seats decent?

Going to a Cardinals game is always a fun experience, and since it's your first MLB game in years, here's some helpful information to make the most of it:

1. Seat Selection and Views:

  • Most seats are good: Busch Stadium is designed so that almost every seat provides a decent view of the field, but like any stadium, some seats are better than others. The closer you are to the field, the better your view of the players and the action, but upper-level seats still offer a great overall view of the game.
  • Infield vs. Outfield: Infield seats (closer to home plate) are more expensive but offer a more immersive experience. Outfield seats are cheaper and provide a wider view of the stadium, but the closer you are to the action, the more you’ll feel part of the game.
  • Look for seating charts: It’s a good idea to check the stadium’s seating chart before purchasing tickets, especially if you have a preference for certain sections. Some seats, like those in the outfield bleachers, might not offer the same level of comfort or atmosphere, but they are still affordable and enjoyable for a casual fan.

2. Game-Day Tips:

  • Arrive early: Arriving early gives you time to explore the stadium, grab food, and enjoy the pre-game atmosphere. The team often has promotions, ceremonies, or warm-ups that are fun to watch before the game starts.
  • Food and Drink: Busch Stadium has great food options! From classic ballpark snacks like hot dogs and pretzels to more unique offerings like St. Louis-style BBQ, make sure you try some local favorites. If you’re sitting in the upper levels, consider buying food from the concession stands near your section to avoid long lines at the main areas.
  • Wear sunscreen: Even in June, the sun can be strong, so don’t forget sunscreen. The game lasts a few hours, so protect yourself from sunburn, especially if you’re sitting in an open section.

3. Atmosphere and Enjoyment:

  • Cardinals' fans are passionate: One of the best parts of a Cardinals game is the crowd. St. Louis fans are known for their love of baseball, and the atmosphere at Busch Stadium is electric. Even if you’re not a huge baseball fan, you’ll enjoy the energy of the crowd.
  • Take in the Ballpark Village: If you have some time before the game, or after, head to Ballpark Village, a vibrant entertainment district right next to the stadium with bars, restaurants, and even live music. It’s a fun way to continue the baseball experience.

4. Parking and Getting There:

  • Parking: Parking near Busch Stadium can be crowded, especially on game days, so consider arriving early to find a good spot. There are several parking lots and garages around the stadium, but they can fill up quickly. If you prefer not to drive, consider using public transport or taking a ride-share service.
  • Public Transport: St. Louis has a convenient MetroLink light rail service that stops at Busch Stadium. It’s a good alternative if you want to avoid the hassle of parking.

5. Special Events or Promotions:

Keep an eye out for any special events or promotions on the day of the game. The Cardinals often have giveaways, themed nights, or special entertainment that can enhance your experience. Check the schedule or ask at the ticket counter to see if anything special is happening during your visit!

Overall, you'll have a great time! Whether you're sitting in the nosebleeds or up close to the action, a Cardinals game is always a memorable experience. Enjoy your time in St. Louis, and hopefully, your team wins!
