Red Sox tickets.

We have found some bleacher tickets in section 40 row 8 for an evening weekday game. 19th August against Baltimore. This will be my son and husband’s first game. We are from the UK and really want to see a game when we are in Boston. This is the only opportunity we will have They are $78 each. Are they ok seats? Can we wait and get them on the day or is this too big a gamble? Thanks so much for your help

Section 40, Row 8 in Fenway Park is in the right field bleachers. These seats are generally very popular with fans because they offer a lively atmosphere, especially for first-time visitors who want to experience the energy of a classic Red Sox crowd. Being in Row 8 means you are close enough to the field to get a good view of the action, though the bleachers are slightly angled so some views along the foul line can be partially obstructed depending on your exact seat.

For a weekday evening game against Baltimore on August 19th, $78 per ticket is reasonable for bleacher seats. Tickets in the bleachers are usually less expensive than other seating areas, but the experience is very “authentic” and fun, particularly if your son and husband are first-timers.

Regarding waiting to buy on the day of the game, here are some points to consider:

  • Red Sox games, even weekday games, can sell out in advance during the summer, especially in August. Bleacher seats sometimes sell out close to game day.
  • Waiting could be risky, particularly if you are visiting from the UK and have limited opportunities to attend.
  • If you do choose to wait, you could try secondary marketplaces or the official MLB ticket exchange, but prices can rise as availability decreases.

Overall, if this is your only opportunity to attend a Red Sox game while in Boston, securing the $78 bleacher tickets now is the safest option. The bleachers offer a fun, energetic environment and your seats in Row 8 are reasonably close to the field. Waiting for same-day tickets could result in higher prices or limited availability, which might not be worth the gamble for first-time attendees.
