Thanksgiving Restaurant
We will be in St Louis unexpectedly for Thanksgiving this year and looking for restaurant recommendations. Several in our party do not want a traditional holiday meal so one that offers a special holiday menu, as well as a regular menu, would be preferred. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
If you are in St. Louis over Thanksgiving and want a mix of traditional holiday offerings as well as options for those who prefer regular menus, there are several restaurants that can accommodate your group:
- The Capital Grille: Known for upscale American fare, they usually offer a Thanksgiving menu with turkey and sides, while also serving their regular steak and seafood options. Reservations are recommended well in advance.
- Seamus McDaniel’s Irish Pub: A casual option with a festive menu for the holiday, including turkey, but also plenty of regular pub fare such as burgers, sandwiches, and fish and chips.
- The Crossing: A fine dining restaurant in Clayton offering a seasonal Thanksgiving menu, but also a la carte options for guests who prefer something else. Known for creative cuisine and attentive service.
- Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse: Offers both a traditional Thanksgiving menu and regular steakhouse selections. It’s a good choice for groups with mixed preferences.
- Brasserie by Niche: Offers classic French-inspired dishes alongside special holiday items. It is a smaller, charming setting and may accommodate small to medium groups.
Other considerations:
- Make reservations as soon as possible, since Thanksgiving is a busy day.
- Check if the restaurant offers a kids’ menu if your group includes children or picky eaters.
- If you have flexibility, some hotels with restaurants (like Four Seasons or Hyatt Regency downtown) may offer a holiday brunch or dinner buffet that includes both traditional and standard menu items.
Overall, for a combination of traditional Thanksgiving fare and regular menu options, mid- to upscale casual restaurants with a la carte offerings are your best bet, ensuring everyone in your party finds something appealing.
