Nationals Park/Sightseeing Hotel Recc

We are bringing DD to see Stray Kids in June at the Nationals Park. She will be 13 so we also want to sightsee. We don’t need to stay near the baseball park but would like to be somewhere near the metro to get us there and also near the national mall. We would like a nice mid-tier hotel - not like a Ritz but not a Hampton. Clean! Safe! Good breakfast/pool/amenities. Thank you!

For a trip to Washington DC that combines a Nationals Park event and sightseeing on the National Mall, the key is to find a hotel that is both centrally located and close to a Metro station. This allows you to easily reach Nationals Park (via Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro on the Green Line) as well as the museums and monuments downtown.

Here are some recommended mid-tier hotels that are clean, safe, and offer good amenities, including breakfast and sometimes a pool:

  • Hyatt Place Washington DC/National Mall – Located near Metro Center, which connects to both the Green Line to Nationals Park and the Smithsonian stations for the National Mall. Offers spacious rooms, breakfast, and modern amenities.
  • Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Capitol – Close to Capitol South Metro, convenient for Nationals Park and walking distance or a short Metro ride to the Mall. Has a pool and on-site restaurant.
  • Holiday Inn Washington-Capitol – Located near Metro Center, providing excellent access to downtown attractions and easy transfer to Navy Yard for Nationals Park. Breakfast is available, and rooms are clean and comfortable.
  • Fairfield Inn & Suites Washington, DC/Downtown – Centrally located near Metro Center and Gallery Place, making sightseeing and Nationals Park accessible. Offers free breakfast and family-friendly accommodations.

Tips for your trip:

  • Plan to take the Metro to Nationals Park rather than driving; parking can be limited and expensive, and the Green Line stop is right by the stadium.
  • Staying near Metro Center, Gallery Place, or Capitol South gives you flexibility for sightseeing, shopping, and restaurants.
  • Book early, especially for June, as DC hotels fill quickly during events and school travel season.

Overall, a hotel near a central Metro station balances convenience, safety, and amenities, letting you enjoy both the concert and DC’s highlights without long drives or complicated logistics.
