Apres Ski/Happy Hour Suggestions
It's been many years since we've skied Snowmass and I cannot find any recent posts regarding this topic.
We like to do apres ski/happy hour and usually just have appetizers/food there for dinner.
Do you have any recommendations/favorites in the Snowmass Village area?
Thank so much for your help!
Snowmass Village has a vibrant après-ski and happy hour scene, with several spots ideal for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Many of these venues offer small plates or appetizers that can serve as a casual dinner, along with craft cocktails, local beers, and a lively atmosphere. Here are some popular and recommended options:
- Venga Venga Cantina & Tequila Bar: A lively spot in Snowmass with a great selection of margaritas and tequila drinks. Small plates and shareable appetizers make it perfect for a casual dinner. Often has live music or DJs in the evenings.
- Il Poggio: Upscale Italian restaurant with a cozy bar area. Happy hour features drinks and lighter bites. The ambiance is great for relaxing while enjoying quality food after skiing.
- Caribou Club: Stylish cocktail lounge with a sophisticated vibe. Known for creative drinks and a smaller menu of elevated snacks. Good for a slightly quieter après-ski experience.
- The Snowmass Base Village Bars: Many of the ski-in/ski-out base village restaurants offer happy hour specials. Options like Elk Camp Restaurant or Sam’s Smokehouse provide casual bites and convenient access for skiers finishing their day on the slopes.
- Big Hoss Grill: Classic mountain bar and grill atmosphere with hearty appetizers and a wide selection of beers. Often busy and festive, making it a true après-ski hangout.
Additional Tips:
- Arrive early for happy hour to secure seating, especially during peak ski season or weekends.
- Many places offer both indoor and heated patio seating, so you can enjoy mountain views even while relaxing after skiing.
- If planning to have only appetizers for dinner, check menus in advance—most places have shareable small plates or bar snacks that can substitute for a full meal.
- Consider combining one stop for drinks with a nearby casual bite, such as a flatbread or sliders, to make it a full après-ski experience without needing a separate dinner reservation.
Overall, Snowmass Village offers a mix of lively, festive spots and quieter, upscale lounges for après-ski. Choosing a venue depends on whether you want a bustling social scene or a more relaxed setting to unwind and enjoy small bites and drinks after a day on the slopes.
