Ritz-Carlton Tiburon or Inn on Fifth

Hello - my husband and I are visiting Naples next weekend for the first time. We appreciate a nice hotel (room/restaurant/bar/spa) and a good location. We're in our 50s and want to dine, shop, possibly hit the zoo; we don't need a particularly lively night life. I'd like something that feels "Christmas-y". When searching for hotels, the Ritz and the Inn on Fifth come up a lot.

Any recommendations on which one is best? Is there another hotel we should consider?

Also, is the Ritz walkable to downtown?

Note: we live in FL so we understand that it's too cold to go to the beach.

For a first-time visit to Naples focused on a refined, relaxed experience, both the Ritz-Carlton Tiburon and the Inn on Fifth are excellent choices, but they offer slightly different experiences.

The Ritz-Carlton Tiburon is a luxury resort located in North Naples, set within a golf community and surrounded by lush landscaping. It offers spacious, upscale rooms, a full-service spa, fine dining options, and a refined atmosphere. It’s ideal if you enjoy resort amenities and a tranquil setting. However, it is not within easy walking distance of downtown Naples, Fifth Avenue, or local shops and restaurants—you’ll likely need to drive or use a rideshare service (10-15 minutes) to get to the central area.

The Inn on Fifth is a boutique hotel located right in the heart of downtown Naples, adjacent to Fifth Avenue South. Its location makes it exceptionally convenient for strolling to shops, restaurants, and holiday decorations, which will give you more of a "Christmas-y" downtown feel. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, and there are on-site dining options and a rooftop bar. The vibe is more intimate and city-centric, rather than resort-style.

Other options to consider include:

  • Naples Grande Beach Resort: Combines resort amenities with proximity to dining and shopping, though slightly more resort-focused than downtown.
  • Edgewater Beach Hotel: A smaller beachfront hotel with charm, good for relaxing but a short drive to downtown.
  • The Continental Club at 5th Avenue: If you prefer a boutique experience very close to Fifth Avenue shopping and dining.

In summary:

  • If you want a luxurious resort experience with full amenities and don’t mind driving, choose Ritz-Carlton Tiburon.
  • If you want to be immersed in downtown Naples, able to walk to shops and restaurants, and enjoy a festive atmosphere, choose Inn on Fifth.

Since you live in Florida and aren’t seeking beach time, downtown accessibility and festive ambience may make Inn on Fifth the better fit for your weekend getaway.
