Hello! We’re a family of 4 kids age 12 and 9 then, arriving 30th June around 8pm and here’s a summary of our plans:
- Spend 1 day walking around MIT, Harvard and eating lobster for dinner - what else is there to see?
- Considering to stay at Sonder 907 Main, any reviews?
- Take a ferry the day after to block island to visit friends as staying over for 3 nights
After that we’ll be heading to Washington DC by Amtrak from Connecticut.
Feedback and suggestions welcome!
It sounds like you have an exciting trip ahead! Here are some suggestions and feedback based on your plans:
1. MIT, Harvard, and Lobster Dinner: - Walking around MIT and Harvard is a great idea, as both campuses are beautiful and rich in history. Besides just walking around, consider checking out:
2. Sonder 907 Main: - Reviews of Sonder properties generally speak well of the modern and stylish apartments, as well as the convenience of location. Sonder 907 Main is located in Cambridge, which is an excellent spot to access MIT and Harvard easily. The property is praised for its cleanliness and its tech-forward amenities (like self-check-in). Just make sure to read recent reviews to confirm that everything is up to your expectations, as service can sometimes be less personal than traditional hotels.
3. Block Island: - Taking a ferry to Block Island sounds like a great plan for a few relaxing days. Once on the island, you can enjoy:
4. Traveling to Washington DC: - Taking the Amtrak from Connecticut to Washington DC is a nice and comfortable way to travel, especially since you’ll be coming from the coast. Depending on where you are in Connecticut, there are trains that go directly to DC, but if you’re not in a major city like New Haven or Hartford, you may need to make a transfer in New York or Boston. The Amtrak Acela is the fastest option if you’re looking for a quicker journey. - Once in DC, there are many family-friendly activities, such as the Smithsonian Museums, National Mall, and visiting monuments and memorials.
Overall, it sounds like you're on track for a wonderful trip! Make sure to check the ferry schedules to Block Island ahead of time, and be sure to plan some downtime to relax and enjoy your time in each location.
