Hi, my family and I are interested in an airplane trip to the west rim (we have been to south and north rims previously and kids are set on wanting to do the skywalk). We would prefer airplane to helicopter as hear lower risk of motion sickness. I’d like to know who are the main companies offering this service? Although appear different companies, different websites seem to show the same planes, do they all use Grand Canyon airlines from Boulder City?
For your trip to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon and the Skywalk, flying is a fantastic option, especially for those who prefer to avoid the motion sickness that can sometimes come with helicopters. You're correct in noticing that many websites feature similar planes and services, and that’s because a few key companies dominate this market, often using similar aircraft and sharing flight routes.
Main Companies Offering Airplane Trips to the Grand Canyon West Rim:
Do they all use Grand Canyon Airlines?
Yes, many of the airplane tours to the West Rim are operated by Grand Canyon Airlines out of Boulder City, even if the booking company or website you use appears different. This is due to the fact that Grand Canyon Airlines is one of the main aviation service providers for this route. As a result, even if you book through a different tour operator or website, the actual flight may still be operated by Grand Canyon Airlines. You’ll typically be flying in a Cessna Grand Caravan or similar aircraft, which are well-suited for these short scenic flights.
Booking and Choosing a Service:
In summary, while the websites and companies you see may look different, most airplane tours to the West Rim and Skywalk are indeed operated by Grand Canyon Airlines, which offers the primary flight service to this location. If you're looking for a smooth and scenic flight experience, booking directly with Grand Canyon Airlines or through a reputable tour operator offering this route should be a great choice!
