Lake Havasu in November. Still a lot to do?
Hi all,
Thinking of making a stop in Lake Havasu in late November and wanted to see if there were still many activities to do there at that time of year. We'll have our 15 and 13 year old boys with us, and this will most likely be a 2 night stop. Anything special come to mind? Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks
Lake Havasu City in late November is still very enjoyable, especially since the weather is generally mild, sunny, and comfortable compared to the summer heat. While water activities like swimming might be less common due to cooler water temperatures, there are still plenty of fun and engaging options for families with teens.
Here are some activities and experiences to consider:
- London Bridge Area: Explore the iconic London Bridge, enjoy walking along the pedestrian-friendly bridge area, and take photos. There are also shops, cafes, and viewpoints that are easy to access.
- Boat Rentals and Water Tours: Many companies offer boat rentals, jet skis, and guided lake tours. Even in November, the weather can be comfortable for a short lake cruise or sightseeing tour.
- Hiking and Nature Trails: There are several trails in the area, including Sara Park, Rotary Community Park, and nearby trails in Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. These are usually easy to moderate and suitable for teens.
- Mini Golf and Arcades: Family-friendly entertainment like mini-golf, arcades, and local recreation centers can be a fun diversion for the boys.
- Lake Havasu State Park: Offers picnic areas, scenic walks, and wildlife viewing. It’s a great place for a relaxed afternoon and some outdoor time without strenuous activity.
For dining and evening activities:
- Casual family-friendly restaurants near the bridge and along the lake.
- Seasonal events or markets that may occur in November; check the city’s events calendar.
- Sunset viewpoints along the lake, such as Rotary Community Park, are excellent for photography and relaxation.
In summary, even in late November, Lake Havasu City offers a good mix of outdoor exploration, light adventure activities, and casual entertainment suitable for a family with teenagers. It’s a nice time to visit because crowds are lower, and the weather is pleasant for walking, sightseeing, and moderate outdoor activities.
