Luggage transfer or storage

Hi, we are looking to transfer our 2 big luggages from Chengdu to Chongqing so that we don’t have to take them all the way to Jiuzhaigou (2 night trip there).

For transfer I saw SF Express but somehow their website won’t let me enter Chongqing as the destination?

Luggagehero also doesn’t show any storage locations near Chengdu East Station.

Would the station be able to store our luggages for 2 nights?

Or is there any other option?

Thank you

For transferring or storing luggage in Chengdu while you take a short trip to Jiuzhaigou, you have several practical options. Direct luggage transfer services exist, but their availability depends on the specific destination and type of service. SF Express is a major courier that often provides luggage transfer, but their online system may have restrictions for certain city-to-city services, especially for long-distance or non-standard shipments.

If SF Express does not allow Chongqing as a destination online, you can try contacting a local SF Express branch at Chengdu East Railway Station directly. Sometimes the in-person service has more flexibility and can arrange deliveries to major cities like Chongqing, especially if you schedule in advance. You can provide them with the train or hotel details in Chongqing to facilitate the transfer.

Regarding luggage storage at Chengdu East Railway Station:

  • The station does have official luggage storage services (行李寄存). Most stations allow storage from a few hours up to several days, but it’s recommended to check in person about storing luggage for 2 nights, as policies can vary and long-term storage may require special arrangements.
  • Storage fees are generally based on size and duration. Large suitcases are accommodated, but always confirm pricing before leaving your bags.

Other alternatives to consider include third-party luggage transfer or storage companies in Chengdu:

  • Luggage delivery services (行李托运公司) – Some local courier companies specialize in sending luggage between cities. You can find them near major railway stations or through hotel concierge services.
  • Hotels – If you are staying in a hotel in Chengdu before heading to Jiuzhaigou, many hotels will allow you to leave luggage with them for a few days even after checkout. This can be a convenient and safe option.
  • Private luggage storage apps or services – Apps like Bagbnb or local Chinese platforms may have options near Chengdu East Station or city center, although coverage may be limited compared to larger cities like Shanghai or Beijing.

In summary, for a two-night trip to Jiuzhaigou, the most reliable options are to either store your luggage at Chengdu East Railway Station after confirming their policy for overnight storage or leave it at your hotel. If you prefer having your luggage sent directly to Chongqing, contacting SF Express or another local courier branch in person is recommended to arrange the transfer.
