We will be staying in honolulu by the ala moana shopping centre for a month again but this time we will not have a rental car since we are seniors so we will get our holo cards to use public buses during our stay.
Is there a good app/site where i can easily find bus #s and frequency and where to get on and off that honolulu residents use for taking buses? i tried looking on line and found "thebus" but not sure if there are better apps for using public transit in honolulu?
Many thanks in advance and with appreciation.
For your upcoming stay in Honolulu, using public buses is a great way to get around, and there are several tools and apps that can make the process easier for you. The official bus service in Honolulu is called "TheBus," and while it does have a website, there are also other apps and services that can provide more detailed, real-time information about routes, schedules, and stops. Here are some good options for seniors using public transit in Honolulu:
All of these apps will help you navigate public transportation in Honolulu with ease. If you want something that is easy to use and highly regarded by locals, I would recommend downloading the "DaBus" app. It’s very straightforward and perfect for getting real-time updates while you're out and about.
Since you’re staying near Ala Moana, you’ll have convenient access to several bus routes that serve the area. The Ala Moana Shopping Center is a major hub for public transportation, so you'll find it easy to connect to buses that will take you around the island. You can use the apps mentioned above to find nearby bus stops and see which buses are most convenient for your destinations.
I hope you find this information helpful, and I’m sure you’ll have a great time navigating Honolulu’s public transit system! Safe travels!
