High-end resort with villas?

Am looking for a high-end resort in the Palm Springs area that has villas, ideally including 2- or 3-bedroom villas. (We would be booking several of these for an extended family group.) Does such a thing exist?

Thanks!

Yes — there *are* several high-end resorts in the Palm Springs / Coachella Valley area that offer villa-style accommodations, including multi-bedroom villas. It depends a little on exactly how “high-end” you mean (luxury boutique vs timeshare-resort), but here are some very good options, plus some things to watch out for.

Top High-End Resorts with Villas

  • The Westin Desert Willow Villas (Palm Desert)

This is a resort-villa property with spacious, well-appointed two-bedroom villas. The 2 BR lock-off villas feature two full bedrooms (each with a King), two bathrooms, two living areas, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and private balconies/patios.

The resort has multiple pools (including a grotto pool), as well as fitness facilities, and easy access to golf.

These villas comfortably fit larger families or groups, sleeping up to 8.

  • Marriott’s Desert Springs Villas / Villas II (Palm Desert)

This resort-residence complex offers 2-bedroom villas with full kitchens, living / dining area, and resort amenities. According to resort maps, there is a layout of the property showing individual villa buildings.

The 2-bedroom villa is large, with two bathrooms and room for a group.

The grounds are lush with waterfalls, palms, and lots of resort-style shared amenities.

  • La Quinta Resort & Club

This is a classic, very elegant desert resort with historic Spanish-adobe architecture.

They offer “Spa Villas” — for example, a two-bedroom spa villa with about 900 sq ft of space, separate living area, double-sided fireplace, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and luxurious touches.

The resort also has a beautifully landscaped grounds, many pools, and a very relaxing, upscale atmosphere.

  • Drift Palm Springs

If you’re okay with something more “boutique / design-driven” rather than a huge resort, Drift Palm Springs has multi-bedroom suites. According to their site, they have 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom layouts (even 4-bedroom) that feel like a “home away from home” with full kitchens, living areas, and outdoor space.

Things to Consider

  • Booking & Availability: Multi-bedroom villas are more limited than standard hotel rooms, so book well in advance, especially for a larger group.
  • Resort vs Timeshare: Some of these villa properties are technically timeshare-resort style. That doesn’t mean you need to buy — but the pricing and booking channels may differ (e.g., resort rentals, resale, or via timeshare-friendly platforms).
  • Location: “Palm Springs area” is broad — some of these are in *Palm Desert*, which is nearby but not exactly in downtown Palm Springs. Depending on where you want to spend your time, proximity may matter.
  • Amenities: Think about what amenities are most important for your extended family: do you want pools, golf, spa, full kitchens, living rooms, laundry, etc. Different villa resorts will excel in different areas.
  • Group Rates / Blocks: If you’re booking “several of these for an extended family group,” reach out to the resort’s sales or group-reservations team — they may be able to offer a block rate or more favorable villa assignments.

My Recommendation Based on What You Said:

Given that you're looking for a high-end resort with 2- or 3-bedroom villas for an extended family group, I would lean toward The Westin Desert Willow Villas (for its villa size, resort feel, and good amenities) or Marriott’s Desert Springs Villas (if you want a more “residential” villa feel plus lush resort grounds). La Quinta Resort is also a beautiful, more boutique-luxury pick if you don’t necessarily need more than 2-bedroom and want a very premium, historical-chic experience.
