Saturday Jazz brinch
Anyone want to chime in on ideas? It’s for 2-15 so I’m late in the game. Commanders palace is booked. I’ve got a choice for Broussards, Palace Cafe and maybe some others but please let me know your favorites.
Many thanks!
Mariana
It sounds like you're looking for a great Saturday brunch spot with jazz in New Orleans—such a classic NOLA experience! Although Commander’s Palace is always a top choice, here are some other fantastic options to consider for a memorable brunch with live jazz:
- Broussard's: Since you mentioned it, Broussard's is a solid choice for a classic New Orleans experience. The atmosphere is elegant, and the jazz adds a nice touch to the brunch vibe. It’s perfect for a group and offers a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, with both outdoor and indoor seating options.
- Palace Café: Another great option you mentioned! Located on Canal Street, this spot has a great balance of traditional Creole flavors with modern touches. The jazz brunch here is always lively and they offer a variety of delicious dishes like their signature Crabmeat Cheesecake and Bananas Foster French Toast.
- The Court of Two Sisters: If you're still looking for alternatives, The Court of Two Sisters in the French Quarter is a beloved spot known for its beautiful courtyard and jazz brunch. Their buffet-style brunch includes a variety of New Orleans classics, and the live jazz makes it a special experience. The ambiance in the courtyard is especially nice when the weather is pleasant.
- Arnaud's Restaurant: Another classic choice, Arnaud's offers a jazz brunch with a history of serving up exquisite Creole cuisine. Located in the French Quarter, it has a festive atmosphere and an extensive menu, including oysters, shrimp, and their famous Crawfish Étouffée. Their jazz band is lively, and the ambiance adds to the charm of the experience.
- Galatoire’s 33 Bar & Grill: Located just a short walk from the French Quarter, this spot offers a more relaxed vibe with an upscale twist. The jazz brunch here is fantastic, with live music and a wonderful menu that blends traditional New Orleans dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients. It's a great spot for groups looking for something special but with a little more of a modern touch.
- Elizabeth’s: If you want something a bit more off the beaten path (but still absolutely amazing), Elizabeth’s in the Bywater neighborhood serves up a fun, quirky brunch. While they don’t feature jazz every Saturday, they do offer excellent food like praline bacon and Eggs Elizabeth (a version of eggs benedict). It’s a local favorite and less touristy than some of the more famous spots.
Each of these places offers a unique spin on New Orleans jazz brunch, so depending on what kind of atmosphere you’re after (elegant, lively, relaxed, or casual), you’ll be able to find something that suits your group. If you're in the mood for an iconic French Quarter experience with a lively crowd, I’d recommend trying The Court of Two Sisters or Arnaud's. If you're looking for something a little more modern with delicious food, Palace Café or Galatoire’s 33 Bar & Grill might be a great fit.
Hope this helps with your decision! Enjoy your brunch and the music—New Orleans is the perfect place for that combo!
