Hello, we’re (3 sisters, maybe a husband and a caregiver) planning to take our 90 year old mom to see Tom Jones at the Wynn. (My mom is a huge fan, and we’re all in!). Timing is mid week May 12-15 3 nights or something along those lines. My mom needs oxygen 24/7 (we’ll bring a portable source but rent a concentrator locally) and has some mobility issues (uses a walker or wheelchair depending on the distances) but otherwise in great health.
We’re thinking staying at the Wynn is best case scenario. Any tips on getting a better rate in that timeframe? I signed up for their version of a loyalty program yesterday. We’re willing to pay $400 a night or so and would need 3+ rooms or suites.
And when it comes to concerts at the Wynn, any tips on getting great seats knowing we need easy accessibility? Contact the hotel concierge or…?
We’d like to find some easy to access activities outside of gambling to fill a day or night or two.
Any other suggestions are welcome. We’re also looking at an Airbnb within 15 minutes of the strip.
It sounds like a wonderful trip for you and your family! Here's a comprehensive guide to help you with your plans for the Tom Jones concert at the Wynn, as well as some tips for accommodations, accessibility, and other activities in Las Vegas.
1. Booking at the Wynn: Staying at the Wynn is definitely a great option for convenience, especially if you are attending a concert there. Since you mentioned that you’re willing to pay around $400 per night, and you'll need 3+ rooms or suites, here are some tips for securing a better rate:
2. Concert Seating and Accessibility: Tom Jones’ concerts at the Wynn are usually held at the Wynn Theater, which is a great venue for accessibility. Here’s what you can do to ensure you get great seats:
3. Accessible Activities Outside of Gambling: Las Vegas has plenty to offer besides casinos, and it’s great that you’re looking for activities that will work for your mom’s mobility. Here are some ideas:
4. Airbnb vs Wynn: An Airbnb within 15 minutes of the strip could be a good option if you prefer a quieter, more private stay, but keep in mind that it may not offer the same level of amenities or accessibility as the Wynn. If you choose an Airbnb, make sure it’s near public transportation (such as buses or the monorail) for easy access to the strip and that it has the necessary amenities for your mom’s comfort, like a ramp for the walker or wheelchair. Many Airbnb hosts offer detailed descriptions of accessibility features, so be sure to ask questions ahead of booking.
5. Other Suggestions: You might also consider booking a special experience for your mom, like a relaxing spa day at the Wynn or a fine dining experience at one of their renowned restaurants. The Wynn offers excellent options for both relaxation and gourmet meals that are accessible and comfortable.
In summary, staying at the Wynn will provide the convenience and accessibility you need for both the Tom Jones concert and your family’s visit. Contacting the concierge in advance for the best seating options and making sure you have easy access to activities outside of the casino will make your trip memorable. Enjoy your time in Las Vegas, and have a wonderful experience with your mom!
